The Seychelles Column - By Christopher Gill

                             A Trojan Horse Enters Seychelles

This week Joel Morgan Minister of Home Affairs unveiled the foundational plaque for a new Coast Guard Base and military installation that will be financed by UAE totaling $50 Million. The project will be built in 10 months by TROJAN, a construction company from the UAE.
Mr. James Mancham, former President has tipped in his two cents as a Public Relations Specialist to give credit to the move in a letter to the Nation this week referring to UAE as Seychelles big Brother in time of need. The UAE and Sheik Khalifa I believe, is nothing more than a Trojan Horse in our midst.
We need to take Mancham’s actions with a grain of salt and ignore him. Whatever he does, he does for himself, in my opinion. There is always an unmentioned agenda behind Mancham’s public antics.
PP is handing the country over to a powerful country UAE ,that has  extra- territorial visions in the region of the Indian Ocean.

What Trojan Horse?
The Trojan Horse is a tale from the Trojan War, as told by Virgil’s Latin epic poem, The Aeneid. It was the stratagem that allowed the Greeks finally to enter the city of Troy and take control. The Greeks constructed a huge wooden horse, and hid a select force of 30 Greek men inside. The Greeks pretended to sail away and the Trojans then pulled the horse into their city as a victory trophy, thinking they had out fought and out smarted the Greeks.
At night, the Greeks stepped out of the wooden horse, opened the gates of Troy , and allowed the rest of the Greek army , which has sailed back under the cover of darkness, into the City. The Greeks destroyed Troy and ended a the war decisively with its Trojan Horse.
Virgil’s famous line comes from the lesson: “Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes” (I fear Greeks even those bearing gifts)

Seychelles Needs a Military Base VS. Pirates In Amirates  Not Mahe
The fallacy of this military base issue is simple enough. The front lines against piracy is not Mahe. It is the Amirates and Aladabra Group. That is where a serious military installation is needed if the real reason is to fight piracy.
However, I believe that the piracy menace is the front line message the people are being fed to accept the project. There is a hidden agenda in the belly of this horse.

What Is In The Horse?
The real reason for UAE funding the $50 Million project is to protect Sheik Khalifa and PP as Khalifa makes Seychelles, a more permanent base for himself.
He has bought beachfront at Barbaron. He has mountain side property and villa compound overlooking France Albert Rene’s home at Petit Anse, and he is just about finished building his La Misere eyesore, with tax free materials exceeding $280 Million I have been informed. That money if collected, could free up half of Seychelles external debt.
No small sum left uncollected.

“An International Base”
The reference to “International Base” to house soldiers from all countries is a farce in itself. The base will house Sheik Khalifa’s army to protect him when he is in Seychelles. The mosque on the base as evidenced in the design plans show just that, since in the Seychelles Coast Guard, there are few if any Muslims.
No other international force has played any role in designing or contributing to the base. Where is the EU on this. Where is the UK? Where is the USA?
When Sheik Khalifa is in Seychelles, he will need at least 1000 men to protect him. He will need another 1000 housekeepers and handlers.
On two shifts, that will be 500 men per shift. Hence the rational behind a Mosque, since Sheik Khalifa will import Islamic soldiers, and would not dare be protected by Christian soldiers.
The Crosses are Offensive Like The Coco De Mer
I have been advised that even the crosses on Trois Freres mountain is offensive to the man similarly as our great Coco De Mer seal upon entry that Immigration stamped passports with. The reasons differ. One is the nut is too sexy. The other reason, being the crosses obstruct his northern view of Mecca for prayer.
The great Coco De Mer seal has been removed as a stamp by Michel, and I understand discussions of removing the crosses somehow , on trios Freres are under way so Sheik Khalifa can have free air access in prayer to Mecca.
PP can sell out our patrimony to Sheik Khalifa. PP can discuss removing crosses from mountain tops and relocating churches from town to country, as it has relocated a Coast Guard Base.
All that will only unite all the People of Seychelles under one banner:

Sesel Pou Seselwa!
May God Bless All Freedom Loving Seychellois!

Divided by a buttock hole called Gill.

Hole or no hole, it is vital because without it we'd all die of a bad constipation. Good governance is not always about being liked, but also having the ability to operate whilst being disliked.

And as we know, every 'buttock hole' has its hemmoroid, in this case one called Tikolor who seems very comfy amongst assholes and what surrounds them.

I may not always agree with Gill says in his seychelles column, but once again, he has hit the nail squarely on the head.

Khalifa is not to be trusted and he has a hidden agenda in this country. As for Michel, he remains the dummy amongst our midst with an IQ of less than 10. Accepting a Radiology Centre is one thing, but allowing a foreign country to build our coast guard base is nothing short of stupid. Allowing Khalifa to ruin the Mahe vista with this UGLY eyesore of a building is a tragedy, just like the Trojan Horse story.

Last but not least, we are a Christian Nation first and foremost. We've had all types of religious groups in seychelles over the centuries and we have tolerated each one of them. But today, Islam is taking over the entire world and it is doing so by buying people into their religion with all the oil money. This is common in Seychelles today, with so-called corrupt Imams going around targeting our young people because a lot of them do not have jobs. That again is a failure of James Michel. The SPPF continue to tell us how great the reform is going and how much well the Government is doing regarding its budget. What they don't tell us is how many jobs have been lost or how many jobs have been created.

Michel is a FAILURE. He needs to be voted out in the next election, along with his so-called genius colleagues who have done nothing to stem the sale of our country's assets to the likes of Khalifa. I don't care who the other presidential candidates will be in 2011, but one thing is for sure. All my friends, family members and work colleagues are voting for someone other than James Michel. Rene of course could do another inside coup and replace Michel with Faure before the next election, but again, I will not vote for SPPF because they have forgotten the Seychellois people in their quest to fill their own pockets. At least Albert Rene was a so-called patriot even if he killed his own people and led the coup d'etat.

As for Khalifa, he will regret ever setting foot in Seychelles one day soon. I hope the La Misere people get their day in court and that this eyesore on top of our once pristine mountain is torn down one day. Or maybe James Mancham can buy it and turn it into his new residence. Or maybe Siva or even Ramados. Frankly, poor old Dolor Ernesta must be crying as he thought he had the biggest house on the hill overlooking Victoria.

I agree with you Mr. Gill. Sesel is for Seselwa and we need to fight for our motherland. To hell with Khalifa, James Michel and all their conspirators who continue to think of Seychellois people as their slaves. It is time to take our country back.

Insulting Christopher Gill and calling him a buttock hole can only come from an SPPF idiot or from that buffoon called Tiklo.

Now remember which buttock hole did the following:

1. Gave away our land for one rupee to that Camelhead Khalifa

2. Let Khalifa and Ascon import 3000 illegal indian workers and hundreds of tax-free containers of goods into Seychelles

3. Allowed that Camelhead to build the ugliest building in Seychelles and ruining our landscape

4. Let Ascon's illegal indians shit in our rivers with their buttock holes

5 Let the people of La Misere suffer indignity and drink shit water from the indians and become sick while they the SPPF lied to the people.

Still don't know his name? Here is a clue:

JAMES ALIX BUTTOCK HOLE MICHEL

Now if you want to continue eating shit from that buttock hole, then please go ahead and be my guest. I bet you it tastes like SHIT you stupid SPPF idiot.

Gill says unemployment on Praslin is 0% and on Mahe <4%. Now put your arseholes together and try and shit from the same toilet roll.

James Mancham cut a pretty pathetic figure at the ceremony. Where was James Michel ? Where was Albert Rene ? The guilty men stayed away of course. They know that giving in to the Sheikh is unpopular. No one buys the story that this is a multi-faith coast guard base. It is military protection for Sheikh Khalifa when he is in Seychelles. He does not trust the SPDF and perhaps even Albert Rene who is known to have dispossessed one or two arabs before.

Perhaps Mancham was nostalgic. If only he could have got one of his arab friends to build a "coast guard" in 1977 to keep Somali pirates away. Would it have stopped Michel and Rene storming the base on 5 July 1977, to "liberate us from foreign domination" ?

More foreign military in Seychelles since 1977. But this time the UAE military will not be under Rene's control. The tinpot dictator better behave himself. His total stranglehold on the country -- unbroken for 33 years -- is about to be loosened.

Could it be this is exactly what James Michel wants ? To be protected by UAE army to keep Rene in check ? He is certainly not the first to use foreign armies to stay in power in Seychelles.

Patrick X said...

So he's keeping up good old SPUP/SPPF/PL traditions? To me just putting a foreign army stationed in the country is an insult to the SPDF and a pretty bad one too. Never mind the mosque which has become the main issue in the case, it's the thoght of having a permanent Big brother army on our shores that's insulting our own troops.

Patrick X,

One hundred heavily armed have sneaked on Praslin under the cover of darkness.

Can you visual for one moment what will happen next and forever hold your peace, or are you tro Kouyon to paint such scenario?.

After all, their Skiffs have been spotted just 10 k's north of North Island!!!!!

And Payeye, you wouldn't be Gerard Payet by any chance that Alain St. Ange has just dress ou lapo lagel would you?.....are you?.

Kind regards from Charle Tikolopan

As the coast guard base is located on Mahe, it seems that it is our last line of defence not our first line of defence. Otherwise it would be located on an island closer to Somalia. By the time the coast guard base spots Somali pirates, Praslin, La Digue etc would have been overrun anyway.

Patrick X said...

Tikolor,

Yes indeed the worst imaginable scenarioa could happen where Somali Pirates could ambush any of our islands, but isn't that what the SPDF is there for? Or am I mistaken about their primary job being defence(of the country that is)? So if we need a foreign army in Seychelles, it pretty much says that the SPDF has failed in their task non? Or does it mean that the head of the army, this being james Michel, has not been doing his homework and letting the army fall FAR back behind on their task? you tell me.

As to you allegations, please do keep on guessing my ID. It has previously been speculated that I am Patrick Herminie, Patrick Pillay and even Christopher Gill himself(the latter at least a compliment). So keep guessing with that busy braincells of yours.

As to the article in Nation and other written by Gerard Payet I say bloody well written and very importsant issues raised indeed. If you had half the amount of brains he has you'd be bloody dangerous. I must say though that St Ange's answer was nowhere near 'dres lapo lagel, but rather a very nice try in covering up the main question in the articel which was not an accusation about favourism towards Emirates, but rather a hypothecical question about the fact that Seychelles is pretty much solely relying on one airlne as its main trasnporter and the risks involved with that. A bit like betting too much on one horse, like we did with the Lehman Bros. Remember?

The article is correct. This UAE force is a neocolonial occupation army. It is not intended to defend us from anything but is intended to occupy us. It is intended to protect the Pp Collaborators in power and to protect Khalifa from accountability for stealing our patrimony.

TIKLO is correct that there is a high probability that a large number of pirates will land on one or more of our outer islands like Praslin and Ladigue and take hostages and cause mayhem. But as usual he is wrong about the solution to this obvious impending problem and as usual Patrick X is correct.

As usual the Pp Collaborators have used a real problem as an excuse to obtain bribes as they did with the defunct desalination project or to shore up their illegitimate power, as they are doing now.

Given this dangerous security situation why are we not arming and training Seselwa Rasin to defend our own country? Are the Pp afraid to arm Rasin because they know they have committed atrocities and injustice towards their own people? Why don't we have a rapid reaction force stationed in each of the vulnerable islands that can hold off such an invasion of pirates until help arrives from Mahe?

And Pp what makes you think these UAE mercenaries will fight to save our lives and property if the going gets tough as it will? they will run and save their own lives rather than defend ours.

This is just one more example of Pp incompetence and of their treachery - they started by betraying the motherland and they will end because of it.

Khalifa's garisson of camels is not here to fight pirates but to annex our sovereign land nothing else.khalifa months ago said he would help us fighting pirates since then his navy has not participated in any mission in the region compare to EU force ,indian etc.why should Khalifa need an illegal military base and mosque in it before he can act against pirates? And who is the Seychellois with good brain that would believe those islamic camels are here to protect our christian nation while they have been able to protect islamic nations like Yemen,Somali from islamic torrorists.

khalifa is pest that Seychellois must fight and radicate before the epidemy completely infest our Nation. To do that we must first have to get rid of PP, the one resposible for the proliferation of this pest on our island.

What is your Rasin's Plans of Action Leonard Gill in order to aleviate this threat posed by the pirates?.

Do tell us how you would go about it Monsieur.

And what is your solution right now Leonard?. You seem to have an answer to everything especially against our Motherland Seychelles and their dirigeants who are subjected to your farago of verbiage at every opportune.

The foreign aids we getting especially from IMF is a debt to get us out of PP mess and debts we would need to pay back later,we already owes billions in debts.Money being gifted by Khalifas and others foreigners goes directly into PP coffers not the country's and i think that our u$2,5 billions is hundreds times more than all the aids rather debts PP borrowed in the last thirty years.

The use of force when deceeded by the people cannot equate that of SPUP;SPPF .SPPF acts was a criminal one and thus it is a criminal organisation .The former is a legitimate power of the nation in a democracy if the people are being violated by criminals and decide that their rights etc must be restored by force.Using force against dictator and criminals is, not to install a new dictatorship but to restore democracy.

How we fight pirates?Well i am not a military person but all proffesionals will tell you that in a war the best tactic ever is to bring the fight to the enemy this doesnot mean we should go in side Somali .What we can do Chris alreadyexplained . I will repeat it (set a naval base in the region of Aldabra) where the pirates enter and foremost are operating.Would it be enough ? NO but what is clear though it would be much more effective than actions being taken by PP so far and ,it would not be by building an illegal islamic naval base in victoria that would solve the problem why? Because it is not intended to fight pirates but rather protect Khlaifa.

Building a naval base in Aldabra region would at least dessuade pirates.

The general solution though lies with the international community which need to solve the civil war in this country then only we as a a nation victims of piracy can ever be in peace.

The Americans messed it up big time in Somalia. They are even luckier that Seychelles foiled the Malo's attempt to smuggle arms that were to be used against them.

BIOT wanting to turn Aldabra into a Naval Base and FAR fought Great Britain tooth and nail. The Americans scored Diego Garcia intead and exiled/bannished the Ilois to the slums of Port Louis.

We should be grateful to Sheikh Khalifa that he is financing our own naval base. There is an urgent need for it today more than ever with firstly this "pirates' scourge" and secondly, Sheikh Khalifa is a King that needs to be protected at all cost. I hope you people can see the importance of why he built his Residence at La Misere. The plot might be 25 acres, but only five acres or less is buildable and the rest of the land are the mountainsides.

I have communicated my strategy to the main Man direct. And who is stopping you from doing the same?. You keep harping on and on how you looooooove your "Racine sesel pou seselwa Motherland" and yet, you only badmouth it at every opportunity and is not prepared to raise your little finger.

I agree that this is a possibility. Though, given the extensive logistics necessary to transport 5,000 pirates approximately 1,500 Km it is unlikely to happen on this scale. But we should nevertheless plan for it and plan to defend our country even from 5,000 pirates or Tanzanians or UAE troops for that matter.

Moreover, if we have a credible plan to defend ourselves that does not rely on foreign colonizing troops this in itself will act as a deterrence and prevent a pirate invasion in the first place.

This is what should be done: First we need to develop our own reconnaissance and monitoring capability off the coast of Somalia. This should start with a base in the Amirantes and with a runway so we can have single and double propeller cesnas and other relatively inexpensive aircraft patrolling the region and with monitoring buoys monitoring the naval activities in the region placed at critical areas. This system should all be repeated in several consecutively smaller rings with the home island at the center.

If we do not know when and how many invaders are coming we cannot defend ourselves. So an intelligence gathering system and monitoring system is critical. The details of the grids and where to concentrate our efforts can be worked out.

At present we know where the pirates are when they are practically knocking on our front doors. that is the case whether there is 5 or 5,000 of them.

We must also have a rudimentary and inexpensive air force of about 3 or 4 airplanes. These can be propeller airplanes mounted with 50 caliber guns which can make short work of any naval invading force while they are at still at sea. A substantial part of our effort must be to engage them in this context rather than when they have already landed.

Then we must have all able bodied Seselwa Rasin between the age of 17 and 55 trained to defend the homeland with access to their weapons and other logistics placed at critically located military bases.

We have approximately 25,000 Seelwa Rasin in that category. We can use the Swiss system of training and mobilization or that of the Israelis. This will also instill a sense of ownership and pride by every Rasin in their homeland.

We do not need to run to foreigners and Fabrike at the first sign of a need. We are an independent and sovereign nation. We Rasin are an independent and sovereign indigenous people who own our homeland. We can and should fight for it and defend it.

Every Tanker making their way to Victoria Harbour should/must be searched/checked thoroughly to make sure that everything is above board to make sure that it has not been highjacked by pirates posing as Invading Somali Forces.

If any one of you is in doubt about such a scenario, just remember Murphy's Law: "if you think it is going to happen, it will happen."
