Last week we saw an attempt of the ruling party trying to break their own laws and not least try to get away with it. Alas the jdiciary grabbed the bull by the horn and forced it to kneel down before taking a few steps back and charging again. I am eager to hear the outcome of this case and its judgement/ruling.

Seems that our constitution is full of holes and misinterpretaitons, like for instance prisoners not being allowed to vote which is found to be unconstitutional. Seems like Gappy's days are beginning to be outnumbered as he has proven himself to be one simple incompetent civil servant.

The problem is the Attorney General who drafts laws that are unconstitutional.
And the national assembly that passes laws that are unconstitutional. Many people obviously do not know what a constitution is, after the one-party state when Albert Rene made the laws and no one did dare question.
I am disappointed that Bernard Georges, in the name of Wavel Ramkalawan, is challenging Jane Carpin's right to remain in the national assembly until the constitutional court has heard her appeal. I think Bernard Georges can read what the constitution says but like everybody else finds the position unfair and controversial. The right of the MNA being removed is put above that of the party in the constitution.
Bernard Georges is thinking more as a lawyer, than a politician. A strict interpretation of the constitution means Bernard Georges and Wavel Ramkalawan will lose this one and hand Herminie victory and a boost. They should have let somebody else petition the court for clarification, not the party and its leader.
Bernard Georges can hardly expect the judges to rewrite the constitution in SNP's favour, by putting an interpretation that goes against the literal meaning of the constitution. He might have given the wrong advice to SNP but he should live with it.
We will get clarity, but it will be at SNP's expense and image.
I am puzzled by legal advice given to Jane Carpin. It must have come from a Parti Lepep lawyer. She does have all the constitutional rights she claims. But that is irrelevant. The party also has a constitutional right to remove her from her porportionally elected seat.

Our laws are our laws and these must be obeyed by all at all times, not when it suits oneself. How can Bernard George as a lawyer look in the favour of Ramkalawan and SNP when they are in the wrong? Maybe Bernard George has understood that Carpin has the right to remain till the case is cleared, something in the course of "innocent till proven guilty"?
Nevertheless, another grenn has now landed in the courts and entire electoral process: that fact that prisoners are in fact allowed to vote, a judgement that could very well result in a re-election as the prior could be proved to have been unconstitutional.
Again i state that our politicians seem to be incompetent in the constitutional area.

Because he is acting as a lawyer not as a member of the party.A lawyer is there to represent anyone regardless of whether he or she is right or wrong.

I do not support what Jane Carpin has done. However, it's disgraceful for SNP leadership to now stoop to her level and make all sorts of comments and innuendoes about her. The Collaborators who have murdered us, imprisoned us without charge, kidnapped and tortured us and who have sold us out and are continuing to do so, will be brought to justice for their crimes against their own people - however long it takes.
