All this is so pathetic. to think that in a few hours we may be back to the same shit for another 5years. Why has God forgotten us????

Whatever the outcome of the election, the tourism trade should call for St. ange's immediate resignation or refuse to work with him. His integrity has been heavily compromised. As a member of the trade, I'm going to push for this. Let him go and run Maison de peuple

Anonymous said...

Just hear 4 ministers in JJ's government have step down (ie) Dugasse, Sinon, Morgan and Athanasius. Pass this news on guys.

Anonymous said...

Yes, gays and pimps in the lepep camp. Pathetic indeed.

Heard about the 3 corrupt pricks and the 1 incompetent health minister being kicked out soon. Maybe Michel will put St.Ange as Health Minister so he can fix his health and ego while he is at it. The toursim trade needs to send a clear mesage to st.ange and kcik him out.

Anonymous said...

St.Ange has sold out to Michel for a few pieces of silver. He has been promised the world.Derek Savy will be his sidekick.

Anonymous said...

Today 52 arabs who were sold passports to finance the Lepep campaign collected them from Immigration Office to the anger of many government officials.

Anonymous said...

Sinon was on tv this evening. He's not jumped yet but may be pushed come Sunday, along with Dugasse. Adam is being lined up to be VP under Danny Faure. If he wins, Michel will again pass baton before he turns 70 in 2013, and SPPF will continue to screw us devan deryer for anothe generation.

Anonymous said...

There is a movement starting to get St Ange removed from STB AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. His reputation and integrity is finished. The chairman of the hoteliers association will have to come out and speak soon. It is rumoured that he's been providing support to St. Ange behind the scene.

Anonymous said...

Liz Bastienne preparing herself to be our next First Lady. Before that, she needs to be appointed Secretary of State. Barry Faure, make way please.

Anonymous said...

Will Christopher support a motion to remove his good friend St. ange? A direct question. please leave Ramkalawan out of your reply.

Anonymous said...

The Sinon interview on SBC may not have been filmed today. He did not look well.

So Michel gets one vote from Narcissus and loses 4 votes from his ministers. How smart is this fool ?

Anonymous said...

Guys you're all sounding as if Michel has won and we're heading for 5 more years of shit. Are we just going to sit around and take it? 52 arabs with seychelles passport. How many more on the way? Michel is really taking us for shit. We've been made to drink arab shit, if he's elected, he's going to make us eat it.

Anonymous said...

Don't fool yourself. Sinon won't resign unless he has to. Not long agao he was bragging about a convincing Michel win and of course saw himself continuing as minister. Pathetic little alcoholic of a guy.Michel thought that he had hit oil when he appointed Sinon as minister only to discover that he's as useless as he was as ambasssador in South Africa. As his aunt left government, he had to replace him with another sinon. monarchy? Not far. Jean Paul replaces his father, Jumeau replaces his father, Two Faures, Sinon replaces the aunt, and it goes on. Soon we'll have st Ange to complete the team but in his case his dear father would be turning in his grave.

When Per Fondater dropped his pen in his short appearance in Michel's PPB, it was obvious he was struggling to endorse Michel's government.

Time for an SNP government.

May God bless all who wants to see a change of government in the Seychelles,

We must not forget to pray for freedom the God our father is the Almighty not us,we have been arguing on this blog and now it is time for us to take 3 minutes to sit down and think what we really want for our children and for our own life.

I ask that God will shower his blessing on us and deliver us from all those hungry hearts and satanic presidential candidates.

I thank all of us who wants to see Seychelles free once and for all.

52 Arabs with Seychellois passports. It shows to what extent our institutions are being abuses by pp thugs. Here we got 52 Arabs holiding our passports without being ablw to expalain how they were issued the documents. This is a risk for our security, for in the past we have seen Arabs holding European,Usa and etc passports being invovle in terrorrist activities in Somali,Afganitan and elsewhere.Sooner than later we will hear that a an Arab has exploded himself somewhere ,and on him he has a Seychellois passport. This would be the worse publicity we could have and want.

MSr has long exposed those illegal attivities conducted by pp ,it is high time we get pp out in order that we revoke our passports from those terrorrist.

St Ange is a victim who has turned into culprit. This is the same guy who for years has opposed Pp regime and by a blink of an eye switched to the other side without being able to justify his act.

That can be concidered as a sign of weak personility or better say, has dependent personalities.Dependent personalities is distinguished from the pathological patterns by his marked need for social approvement and affection, and his willingness to live in accord with the disires of others.Dependents are notably self-effacing,obsequious,agreedable,docile and ingratiating.A clinging helplessness and a search for support. He is in search for a single all magic-helper,a partner in whom he can place his trust and depend on to protect him from having to assume responsibilities or face the competitve struggle of live alone.St Ange has denigrated himself and his accomplicements. What a shame !

I hope we've all done our duty today and have gone to vote. I made it early this morning. What a great feeling I had to tick the candidate I think is best able to bring change in our country.

Anonymous said...

Reply to will Christopher support motion to remove St. Ange.

St. Ange should resign from the SHTA as Vice Chairman, since at this point there is a direct conflict of interest.

He has been more effective at STB then any one else. He should stay there for now. He is not ministerial material at this point and has compromised his high standing in the eyes of the community and will not be trusted by anyone.

He has shown great lack of judgment, confusing problems he had with Ramkalawan with the greater interest and betterment of the country. Ramkalawan is not the best thing to ever happen to Seychelles, so people should not commit political suicide just because they realize the priest leader has become a millionaire, or he is chasing your girlfriend.

I now question how much he (St. Ange) has held back on the issue of Eden Island to please Michel.

Today the Trade suffers greatly because of Eden Island. It has replaced La Digue as No 3 destination and will replace Praslin in 2 years as No. 2 destination in Seychelles.

There are two things, a battle and a long war. The boycott is a war.

Voting is the battle. Go and vote to make the difference in the battle. Not going is an advantage for SPP.

Please go and vote even if you have to spoil your vote because in this way it is the number of casted vote that will count.

Reply to Time for SNP Government-

Your Treasurer Alain St. Ange is already in government with PL.

Your Deputy Secretary General- David Pierre, is already with PL.

Your lawyer Bernard Georges is PL main Sponor Khalifa, lawyer.

Your other lawyer Annette Georges, did the deeds for Felicite Island, Sr. 1.0 for Rene, 578 acres of land gone for Sr. 1.0.

H. Lucas ex MNA works for SPPF.

That leaves Ramkalawan and Ferrari out of PL government. But they spent the last 5 years up and down State House, like they were in government. So give your BS a rest .

St Ange is officialy part of Pp dictatorship as SNP has been unoffically the opposition party concocted by FAR and RAM ti give us the inpression there is competition in the country which in fact helps impede genuine change in the country.

Mr. Gill, it's clearer that your gripe is against Wavel Ramkalawan the man not even the politician. Like your good friend Alain St Ange who you want to stay at STB, you have clearly let your hatred of Wavel cloud your vision for a better Seychelles. But guess what? The Seychellois people are speaking now and in their majority will be giving Wavel a mandate to run this country. Civil servants, like Mr. St. ange (because STB is part of civil service) will stay out of politics and will certainly not have to "zwe rol" to get by. And you? well, you'll be free to continue doing what you do best: hide behind your computer and your blog. But that will be your right as a citizen of this country.Wavel will appoint an electoral COMMISSION made of of several independent individuals who will re-look at your application to register your party. They will do so independently of any instructions from state house.
I wish you well.

Anonymous said...

I agree, Gill's application to register his party should be given another hearing by a 5-men electoral commission that is independent. President Ramkalawan has to make this his priority afer his swearing in tomorrow. There is still space in our country for political parties of differing opinions. In this Gill will have my support.

Anonymous said...

When the sun rises tomorrow, it'll be on a new Seychelles, a free Seychelles AT LAST.
Wavel rocks! Proof that with determination everything is possible.

Anonymous said...

C. Gill is right to call for a boycott. This is one side of the coin. On the other hand, in the rush to power, his call may have not resonated among everyone who will soon learn their fate of a lack of leadership and unification. This calls for people to go and vote. Tick everyone except SPP. The vote will be no use, and this would mean that there would be a fair chance to move to a second round because the final winner will need to win more than 50 % of the casted vote. Staying at home will do no good.

Anonymous said...

Leave chris alone, the man has has done a tremendous job over the years. You tell me if wevel won the election tonight how is he moving into state house tomorrow?chris wrote 2 articles about state structures last year. The point is there is no system in place to accommodate a new president in the event a new president is elected. The system is not in place to accommodate this.

BREAKING NEWS:

There will be not second round, there was no Boycott. We will have a new President for all Seychellois. RAM will have 5 years to prove himself. Should RAM fail whilst discharging his duties, we will change him at the next election.

As for C Gill, a new President will ensure your rights are respected. You will get the chance to form your new party if all is above board. You will spend your next 5 years bnuilding it up. I will be the first one to vote for you if you are a better choice for Seychelles in 5 years time. For the time being RAM is the best we have.

Anonymous said...

We all will like to see a free Seychelles this was our aspiration back in 1976 and still today.
I do not see the determination in RAm but rather obstinancy.I would have like to eticket him with the word Perseverencerather than determination, but this also does not fit to him obstinancy fits him best, for the different between perseverance and obstinancy is that one comes from a strong will and the other from a strong won't.

In a democracy, during an election, the ruling party is the caretaker government. The government prepares to leave and prepares the handover, in case the people decide it is time for a new government. Not so, with James Michel. He has behaved as if he is entitled to carry on, and the election a mere sideshow, formality and inconvenience.

Well, he got a shocking lesson in democracy from Buckingham Palace. His request to greet Prince William and his wife after their honeymoon was flatly denied. He was told it was not possible during an election period and that he is just one of the candidates standing in the election.

And the royal honeymooners must have been wondering why the Seychelles High Commissioner for the UK was in a helicopter hanger delaying his departure and not at work in London. Narcissus hurried from Lusaka for the occasion.

Anonymous said...

A photo with the Royal Couple would have taken 10 minutes on last nights SBC news. Typical of JAM the marketing man. See how he used the opportunity to create a clock featuring the Pope and himself ! Shame he has to stoop so low.

Anonymous said...

Let them all enjoy their place in this setting sun. Tomorrow the work of re-claiming and re-building our country begins. It'll have to start with forgive but not forget and move on with the job. An immediate audit of sold seychellois passports must be done and all these nationalities given must be withdrawn immediately. Sesel pou Seselwa.

how is Ti Joel live without his ministerial position? And alain St. ange who so wanted to be minister of something - ANYTHING? Would he now do like Derek Savy and go to Arpent Vert to ask for forgiveness? Sinon has already said that he's started packing to go and join his wife and daughter in UK. He is now saying that he made a huge mistake in accepting to be a minister in Michel's government. A bit late, now don't you think? At least you'll have a fat pension for life.

Breaking news Peoples party is leading the exit poll, the correct percentages to be posted soon.

Anonymous said...

So what the previous blogger seems to be saying is that state house is Michel's to keep, whether he wins or not. Wavel can take the oath of office anywhere. The constitution clearly states that the elected president assumes office the day following his election. In Wavel's case on Monday. Michel's home is his palace in Sans Soucis. When he loses the elections, he packs his things and moves out and the new President moves in. He's no fool. He will move out when he loses.

Anonymous said...

Does Ramkalawan, if he wins, have to be at State House to be president ? State House is an office and is not mentioned in the Constitution. Arpent Vert will do just fine until the people can accompany him to State House.

Michel was elected for 5 years and he stops being the legal president when his 5 years are up. That is clear. If he refuses to leave, he would be an illegal president. His actions would be unlawful. Have you heard about Laurent Gbagbo ? Where is he now ?

When does the new president take over ? That is unclear. It should be the day after the election result, i.e. Sunday or Monday if the results are not delayed. But the new president may well have to wait until Michel's 5 years are up and no longer the legal president, if Michel refuses to accept defeat and transfer power peacefully and orderly.

Anonymous said...

As for the Ministers, the President and Vice President are the Ministers until others are approved by the National Assembly. With the president's authority, anyone can act as a defacto minister but may not get paid until approved by the national assembly. What this means is that the national assembly should be dissolved even before ministers are appointed.

Anonymous said...

Michel's current mandate ends the day after the election result is announced. If the results are announced after midnight on Sunday morning, his mandate ends on Monday. If he has lost, he becomes an illegal president from Monday and has no constitutional powers to issue orders.

If the results are announced before midnight tonight, Michel's mandate ends at midnight tonight.

If there is a second round, his mandate ends on the day after the result for the second round is announced.

Will you now join your friend alain St Ange licking the ass of James Michel and parti lepep? Two tongues are much better than one.

If it so happens Wavel do not win the election where are you going to put your head.No that political views will always be expressed no matter how ridiculous one may think. I now implore RAM to reach out to the likes of Boulle, Volcere & Gill. This is the only way Seselwa will vote for a change. Seselwa will vote for a change if they see a united opposition !

Go on Wavel, give it a go...

Anonymous said...

What a cowardly act by the opposition leaders? They were warned that this election was a sham and the outcome was already determined by the stooge of LEPEP Gappy. To boycot after giving credibility to a sham election progress was shameful. They took the risk and now they are not assuming their responsibility. Wavel your arrogance and complacency had condemned the Seychelloise for five years of Arab slavery.

Anonymous said...

Michel won by 6300 votes over the opposition. Percentage wise, more than 2006 presidential but less than 2007 national assembly. Mixed results for him. He is annoyed that other candidates were not there to congratulate him. Why should there ? Elections are the only indication of democracy. In between elections PL runs a dictatorship.

Anonymous said...

Nothing has changed since the last presidential where DP and SNP united. It has nothing to do with united opposition. Our new citizens are making a difference if they are all voting for PL.

Wavel needs to consider his position. But SNP will be poorer, especially during campaign times, if he goes completely.

Very few voted for Boulle and NDP. This indicates no discontentment with Ramkalawan among opposition supporters.

The problem is breaking into PL's vote which has not increased substantially. Who can do that ?

Anonymous said...

Thank you to Wavel for providing leadership to the opposition in the election. He took on the role at a time when no one wanted to stand. He has done more than enough for us. I can understand if he were to stand down now or at the national assembly elections.

Anonymous said...

Alot of people voted SNP not because they like Wavel but because they wanted change. You cannot lose three consecutive elections and still do not want to let somebody else run as a candidate. There should be a rule in the opposition manifesto that any candidate can present themselves only two times for an election. Another think that i believed happened was that the electorate saw SNP as a group of corrupt individuals because they created facts on the ground by partaking in LEPEP trap where money was concerned. Voting to get themselves together with LEPEP for a fat salary were ordinary people were going through a hardship was the straw the broke the camel back. In the end people just concluded that better the devil you know rather than the devil you do not know. Even with election fraud it was possible to defeat LEPEP if the SNP had not gone into hibernation for four years and never really put pressure on LEPEP government to put in place all the recommendation of the past electoral observers before decided to take part in this phony election. And i truly believe that the only leader that could change Seychelles would be an honest politician in deeds and action and someone who is right with god. Remember that being a priest do not make a person right with god. History had shown us that,

It was right to participate in the elections. It is also right to boycott the trappings of democracy, as we do not live in a democracy. If Misel wants our leaders in the opposition to behave like in a democracy, then he needs to completely dismantle the remaining one-party state institutions.

Anonymous said...

Not only that any future election should be boycotted unless there are tangible changes and the internation institutions should be made aware of these pseudo democratic tacticts of LEPEP. People of Seychelles need to go on the street for democracy to take root in Seychelles otherwise we will end up with one of the dictator in the making Fidel Danny Faure in five years time.

It Is all speculation. The fact is that little changed between 2006/7 and 2011. The drop in Wavel's vote has gone to NDP and Boulle, neither got more than 1000 votes. Michel's percentage is down on the 2007 vote.

We can see that Boulle and NDP are not a force in Seychelles politics. The work now is to build up SNP and unite around SNP, especially for the national assembly elections where DP's participation will hand seats to PL.

Unfortunately this election does not provide clear pointers for the future for the opposition especially SNP.

THe rupture predition was a hoaxed. But Gill predition was spot on. Thank for letting your feeling know to man without integrity who thinks that they can serve two masters at the same time. Atleast we have a man of principle with all the insults he spoke a constitent language throughout. HAT OFF FOR MR GILL NOW THESE FALSE PROPHET SHOULD GIVE HIM MORE RESPECT FOR HIS CANDID POLITICAL VIEWS WHICH HAD SENT SHIVER IN THE SPINE OF MICHEL AND WAVEL> THERE CONSPIRACY DID NOT WORK> HE IS AS VOCAL AS HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN.

I am pleased the opposition were not there on the night, to be seen shaking hands with Michel on SBC. We have participated and voted in this election because we do not want to go back to full-blown one-party state. But Michel must know that we have serious concerns about the painfully slow transition from one-party state to democracy. Spoiling his big night was one way to express concerns.

Furthermore if Wavel had won, would Michel have ensured his safe return home or simply allowed PL mobs to target him.

Anonymous said...

I do not see how the election result vindicates Gill. Gill thought a united opposition would win but there is no evidence for that in this result.

Gill talks about other issues, e.g. new residents voting for PL. But his main concern was united opposition to fight the election.

It is important that the opposition draws the correct conclusions from this vote for next time. Otherwise we will be doing things that don't bring extra votes.

James Michel has a new mandate. But as his supporters celebrate and keep everyone awake, he should realise that he is a diminished man because of the dirty tactics that he used in the election. It is a soiled presidency that he starts tomorrow.

Anonymous said...

Had the result been closer, I could see how a united opposition MIGHT have made a difference. The result is almost a carbon copy of last time. You can read almost anything into it.

Anonymous said...

Nice to see Michel looking for the opposition tonight to congratulate him. He does not normally recognise the opposition.

WHAT A BIG JOKE.THERE WONT BE ANY CHANGES IN THE SEYCHELLES FOR A VERY LONG TIME INDEED.READ BEN CARSON ARTICLES AND UNDERSTAND IT CLEARLY AND YOU WILL SEE THE MAIN REASON WHY?

Anonymous said...

Sorry most of you blogers did not get it.Democracy is not only voting and pining democracy on voting is the biggest mistake in Seychelles. The opposition will never make a difference unless there is true democracy in seychelles. Remember even in one party state we have election.Allowing fake Seychelloise especially Arabs and Indian to vote in Seychelles without any Seychelloise roots would always change the land scape. Allowing selective group staying abroad to vote and marginaling the majority not to vote is also a serious problems. A united opposition by merely looking at the figures might indicate that it would not have made any differences but an engaging sincere opposition working coesively for four years could have made much of a differences. They could have set the agenda straight to the dictator Michel that there would be no opposition in any election unless all the institutions are made democratic as required by internation institutions for real democracy to take root. Sorry mate when Gill was trying to put all this concern across. He was called anti-foreigner , racist and all nasty names by mostly SNP supporters. They (SNP) remained very quiet when his participation was refused by the SPPF stooge Gappy in effect collaborating with LEPEP to trample on democracy. Now you will hear SNP mainly crying foul for their defeat.SNP on their own as is has been proved once again would never win any election. What Seychelles need is a new opposition alliance who is interested in the real Seychelloise rather than status and readiness to collaborate with the corrupt government. There should be no talk with this corrupt government unless genuine change happen. Opposition should stop legitimise fake undemocratic elections. Wavel should stop thinking that he is the chosen one to lead the people to the promise land. He should come out from his cloud and try to understand what real Seychelloise people in opposition real want. Cutting deals by the opposition with fake Seychelloise in our country should be stopped. Most importantly opposition need to work on their image by showing the Seychelloise people that they are different from LEPEP/SPPF in deeds and through tangible actions.

After trying the third times to dispose Pp through elections and failed RAM must come to the conclusion that his time is other and should pass over the helm of the party to a new, young ,dymanic and truthfullpeader caplable to unite divers opinions.SNp as all opposition parties must not wait every four years to challenge Pp dictatorial regime it must be on a daily basis and 365 days a year.Pp must be kept under pressure and be exposed peramenetly in order to deligitimize those bandits.
RAM time has come for you to leave.

As long as the opposition vote was improving, you could make a case for Wavel Ramkalawan to stay as leader. With this result, we can see that the vote is starting to come down. The result by districts makes grim reading. Good win at St Louis only. No outright win at Beau Vallon but largest party.

Outright win for PL everywhere else.

SNP needs to do a district by district analysis of the results. There has been a 2-3% swing to PL in SNP marginals, enough for PL to win Bel Ombre, Anse Etoile, Les Mamelles, Mont Fleuri. Biggest swing was at Bel Air.

Anonymous said...

Did PL target these districts with their cash, or are the more affluent in these districts happy with the economic reforms ?

The only ray of hope is a drop in PL support in some of their strongholds in the south. Are they taking them for granted ?

RAM votes did not improve for i think it was the lowest score he ever had.It is true that it is difficult to figure out the real percentage he won due to fraud by Pp and all those foreigners added illegally in the registration lists, but one must conclude that RAM popularity has stayed static in the last decade and nothing shows that this will change.I agree that opposition must be more active in districts where Pp has more supporters, but i also think Opposition must be por-active all over the country not only every four years when election is coming but all year long.Sitting behind a desk at Arpent Verte is not being in touch with the people, being of the ground should be the right thing to do and also important is that when they are criticizing Pp they should also come up with solutions to give the people a choice in order for them to be able to compare what they offer diffently to that of PP.

Note that Seychellois did not vote Pp in office ,Pp voted itself through the combination of fraud, intimidation, rigging .

Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year
old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She put the shell to her ear
and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic
