The Seychelles Column - By Christopher Gill

Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures…

…Ancient Communist saying!

No sooner that the Seychelles Freedom Party (SFP) was registered, and I gave a press conference calling for an all out BOYCOTT of the national Assembly elections, joining officially along with NDP and SNP. Immediately, the Election Commission registered another political party called Seychelles Popular Democratic Party, headed by Mr. David Pierre, ex SNP who turned in his membership to his party on national television. Mr. Pierre, was the Deputy Secretary General of the SNP.

David Pierre - SNP 2010 Conference addressing delegates on the issues of election, money and vote buying.  How ironic!

David Pierre

Correspondingly, the SPDP leader has announced, through SBC help, that he and his party will be participating in the upcoming elections for the National Assembly. They will field candidates, they will seek legislative office, and they will have a vote for the leader of the opposition.

This position is completely contradictory of the common unifying platform of the Seychelles opposition. Mr. Pierre has not met with anyone in the opposition prior to deciding if he will field candidates. I am personally uncertain if he even read the Commonwealth Report on the recommendations that have been made to level the playing field for Eighteen (18) years.

Allegations of Backing By Ruling Party

Immediately, as the party was registered, numerous allegations surfaced on the internet that the ruling party was financing Mr. David Pierre’s party.

These allegations have not been denied by Mr. Pierre, until now. However, there are reports that he has been seen making numerous trips and visits to Danny Faure’s office. Mr. Faure is the Vice President of Seychelles and high ranking PL official. What would a future opposition party leader be doing roaming even close to Danny Faure’s office, all by himself? Could this be true?
Danny Faure - Confused as usual

Desperate Times Indeed

The call for BOYCOTT of National Assembly elections is a unifying platform of all elements of the Seychelles opposition community. In spite of all our shortcomings, and all issues internally that we grapple with, we have been able to come up with a common stance and common purpose, that unifies all Seychelles opposition.

That is, a BOYCOTT of these elections is critical at this time, because the promises of democracy and freedom made by F.A. Rene in November 1991, after Eighteen (18) years, have not been kept by PL and James Michel. It is arguable that we have backed tracked to one party state in the last Six (6)  months faster then in the last Sixteen (16) years.

A Boycott exposes the promise broken by the SPPF and PL to implement democracy with corresponding freedoms made in 1991.

A Boycott exposes what the Commonwealth Expert Team (CET) in their Commonwealth Reports note, that is, we have numerous one party state laws in place that prohibit a full transition to democracy.

Basically, though we live in 2011 in life terms, but in terms of progress in democracy and freedom, we are still back in November 1991.

The Democracy Tree Without Roots

This means the democratic tree if you will, that Mr. F. A. Rene told us he was planting in November of 1991, has not taken root after Eighteen (18) years.
Albert Rene

Occasionally when it is exposed that the tree is really a dead tree, the next course of action, is to prop a few plastic oranges on the tree, to make the world believe, we have tree that is alive and well rooted. With the plastic oranges on the tree the communists can say that the tree is fine, it even bears fruit occasionally. You can even water the tree with sea water, it will thrive in appearance.

People of Seychelles, we are entering an era of plastic fruits in the opposition. As the opposition is shammed, like elections, and everything else around us, the world will see it for themselves, and we will not have to work to expose the sham, the entire tree without roots, will become a plastic tree that looks so beautiful, and lively, but it has not grown an inch in real terms since November 1991 nor has it borne any real fruit except for plastic fruits placed on the tree deliberately.

Do Not Lose Hope In Humanity

These tactics are expected of communists. They use them all over the world. In some communist countries, they fake debates, others will fake projects to give the people hope, many fake economic results to fake their success, when in fact it is all grand failure.

Faking an opposition is part of the communists effort to fake our realities. It is used to give cover and mask to their illegitimate democracies the world over.

The common thread in all communist societies is that faking it is never enough and they are sooner rather then later, exposed to the entire world, not just the central committee!

As they fake all the way, we must be united, act as one, for a common good cause that is greater then all of our sums divided.

Seselwa Unite!

Imbecile we freed the Seychellois from the greedy and corrupt clutches of Christopher Gill's family - namely his uncle who was president. Christopher was expected to grow up and become a minister in his uncle's cabinet. His uncle was about to declare himself president for life. He thought he was Papa Doc!
Now Christopher is fighting for that position because in his warped mind he thinks that this is his god given right!

Anonymous said...

But in the end, in reality, who declared himself president for life ? Which party thinks it has a god given right to govern and has killed for that ? If it is not SPUP/SPPF/PARTI LEPEP, tell me who ?

In the final analysis, poor Wavel has fallen into the Intelligent trap again. TIKLO gave him good advise to re-invent himself and to spend more time at State House to discuss any issues that are condusive to the well-being of the Seychellois Populace. The real opposition has decided that it is useless to be the leader of opposition in a pseudo-democratic system. The opposition is not defined by lepep it is a democratic right in a real democratic system. The world will take David as a fool because with his one vote. He would not be a legitimate opposition. An opposition who has paid 25 fools to stand with him in this sham election because he has sold his soul to Michel and lepep. Now he has to do what Michel tells him. This is what real democracy is to David Pierre. I bet now he has money to continue with his immoral life style which synonymous with lepep leadership. WELCOME MR DAVID PIERRE TO THE OFFICIAL CLUB OF WOMANIZER NOW YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HIDE BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE LICENCE TO DO IT OPENLY BECAUSE FOR MANY LEPEP SUPPORTERS THIS PART OF BEING A ROLE MODEL. Michel has continually insinuated that the judiciary is not delivering justice to it people. He said that in his PPB. Michel is real hypocritical at times I just wonder if he really knows what democracy mean.

Congratulation to Mrs Hoareau because she was by far the most sincere and genuine candidate . The two other were simply artificial with their usual rheotoric. Since when did Michel listen to his people. He is surrounded in controversy and he his still not telling us who is running our little country since we now have the royal highness pulling the string behind the curtain and he has the 007 license to do as he pleases. Give us a break in your nouveau communist Seychelles where some are more equal than others. What a sham election?

David Pierre has beat you all at your own game AND instead of learning from your mistakes you are trying to denigrate him which is childish. He has pulled the carpet under the feet of Wavel who like Volcere were not ready to relinquish power for the good of the opposition.gill you were a fool not to try and fill this vacumn and I suspect you know this deep inside and you are in a rage. Whilst the Lepep are content they should realize that Pierre may become the most serious threat to them yet. Danny Faure will be no match for Pierre in five years time. Lepep will come in with a large majority and become complacent. Pierre is ambitious and far more intelligent than Wavel and not tarnished with corruption like Georges etc...Gill we are damn tired with the communist litany. China, a communist regime will within 20 years will become the largest economy in the world. Maybe India should have been communist and other large populated countries such as Nigeria. Who gives a damn about political freedom when you cannot even fill your belly? So please let us keep this blog intellectually stimulating. I have voted opposition traditionally but feel cheated by you guys who have put sef interest ahead of the collective good. Maybe Michel is the better man given the circumstances and the immaturity of the opposition. Pierre has yet to prove himself and Wavel/Volcere/Boule and Gill has handed him the opportunity on a silver platter. Time will tell and in any case the next five years is in the bag for Lepep. May as well work for Sesel and cast aside partisan politics for the next cinq.

Reply to Communist Litany-

I see you are proud of David Pierre.

Pilate was proud of Judas as well as he gave Jesus Christ a kiss of death.Pilate said," Judas did a good job for 30 pieces of silver".

Pierre has attempted to give Freedom the kiss of death. Why? Because he is a fake and a plant by SPPF PL.

With that,his kiss cannot work.

Michel's sense of frustration and panic on SBC over a situation, which he single handedly created, is evidence of that frustration.

Michel has rope tied himself, over and over again and again over the last 6 years. This is just a bigger rope "Communist Litany".The sooner he resigns and hands over the reigns to a younger generation, the sooner the country will start the road to healing. His rule has been catastrophic and there is nothing, he or you, can do to undo this reality.

But don't take that too bad. It is part of severing your cords with your communist one party state past, which you will.

The quest for Freedom and rights in Seychelles is bigger then an act of betrayal of the entire opposition done by one single man.

One statement by Pierre exposes this great fantastic act of betrayal:

Pierre says he will dialogue with all parties, and seek common ground, his meaning- he will dialogue with the SPPF PL Communists.

However, in the wave of this grand statement, Pierre in reality does not speak to the opposition. Nor does he tell us who finances him, as he dances around that question, like a go-go dancer.

There is the exposure in simple terms of the act of betrayal. We do not need to get to the details of the finances. Though it will surface in due course.

As for your frustration over being called communists, again, it is an adjective compliment to show what you are. Don't take it bad.....Communist China does not take it bad, they take it as a compliment, so does North Korea, and so should you.

If you are not Communists, then why do you act like Communists? Answer that big question!

Finally, I do not take instructions from Communists, and whether or not I am in a communist National Assembly, is not a measure of whether or not my work is successful or not.

We Freedom Loving Seychellois - don't need your accolades and titles for success, communists.

When you learn to respect the opposition of Seychelles, respect will be bestowed upon you freely.

One Party State you want, One Party state you will get!

David Pierre has already found"common ground" with James Michel. As part of the deal, James Michel will instruct a few of his red supporters to vote for Pierre. David Pierre's movement has to get 10% of the votes at all cost. Michel needs to have somebody - anybody-sitting on the opposition bench in the assembly. His credibility depends on this.

Anonymous said...

Pierre was part of the SNP opposition in the national assembly, except for a few weeks. Despite that, Marie Louise Potter said yesterday that Parti Lepep will now get a "serious opposition". It is as if Parti Lepep has fixed the opposition (in the national assembly) in Seychelles. Having gone against the stand of all opposition parties, Pierre confusingly says he will talk to all parties. But the only party that will talk to him is Parti Lepep, because he is a creation of Parti Lepep. The man wants to be leader of the opposition at all cost. He resigned from SNP over that. Now he is collaborating with Parti Lepep to cook up an opposition in the national assembly with him as the leader.

Anonymous said...

Reply to Pierre and 10% Comment-

You say Michel's credibility is hanging on David Pierre getting 10%.

This is not correct.

Michel's credibility or should I say the lack of it, has been exposed openly, by the united boycott stance of the opposition taken openly because of lack of any meaningful reform under his mandate.

Fielding a party and fake opposition 3 weeks before an election, is not a solution to the cardiac arrest of the 3rd Republic brought about by James Michel arrogance, into believing he can defy the basic laws of humanity with a policy of back door victimization and brutality.

The lack of credibility of Michel is exposed. Just by Michel campaigning desperately on SBC against a BOYCOTT exposes this. Remember, he is the sitting President of Seychelles, and under the principle of Separation of powers, he is not to side with the Assembly.

The reality, is the REFORMS they PL Communist speak about were suppose to have been done over the last 18 years, and not implemented in the next 18 years.

PL Communists should not take this exposure too bad. It should look at itself and come up with lasting solutions for Seychelles.

The Commonwealth pointed out that they are duty bound to do so.

The USA and EU will soon require the same of them, or face further SANCTIONS similar to the UN Sanction over Seychelles by the Committee on Human Rights.

SFP and myself have proposed Two (2) steps forward: 1. a Round table of all parties to discuss the required constitutional amendments and laws to insure we entrench democracy and freedoms in Seychelles; 2. the laws be so implemented by PL's rubber stamp Assembly, after all, they took our rights away, it is right that they give them back.

In line with this, I raise another item that I have raised numerous times over the years: the downturn world wide will be for many years beyond Ten (10) years . Piracy will not stop any time soon. Seychelles is under threat.

Seychelles can only survive in that context with a Government of National Reconstruction, which includes all parties in meaningful participation.

This means, all parties come to the table to help navigate through this big storm ahead.

It does not mean all parties have to sell out to PL. That is not democracy. Forced sell outs is a symptom of Communism at play. It is not acceptable, and those sell outs must be excluded from the table and so exposed.

It means PL has to create the enabling environment for a government of reconstruction.

That means step one: respect fundamental human rights, and stop trying to kill democracy and freedom in Seychelles, because you are incompetent to lead with success on your own. We all see the glaring incompetence. The simple fact of the amount of money you spend on campaigns doing favours for votes shows you are incompetent and failing everyday.

Respect the sacred principle of "Sesel Pou Seselwa" and take steps to strengthen it, and stop selling our patrimony.

Once you do that, we can all talk.

Until you do that, we have nothing to say to you. So don't bother sending your spies to us or thugs in common language.

I do not really understand Parti Lepep supporters. As SPUP and SPPF supporters, they were very proud of their one-party state after 1977 and were kicking out anyone who wanted democracy. Now they pretend they are hurt when we say we still live in a one-party state because they tell us they have converted themselves into democrats. They talk about democracy but their leader James Michel was totally lost last night trying to explain what democracy is and what role a credible national assembly plays in a democracy. He should stick to toting AK47s. What's more, they seem to have taken a shine to David Pierre and his Mouvman Demokratik Popiler, because this is the only way they will get an opposition in the national assembly. Was it not David Pierre who shouted "coward" at James Michel in the national assembly when James Michel dissolved the assembly at the end of his State of the Nation Address in 2007 ?

If you support Parti Lepep, you are not a democrat and do not believe in democracy. Simple. A wolf in sheep's clothing is still a wolf.

What we see in this election is that Parti Lepep is not wasting its campaign money and breath fighting David Pierre. They really want him to win a few votes to get a proportional seat at least, without having to resort to fraudulent practices with the ballot papers on election night. Parti Lepep is fighting the real opposition and the democrats in this country and the boycott.

These are Parti Lepep's real opponents in this weird election -- real opposition, real democrats and a real boycott. That's not on the ballot paper, unless you spoil it.

Piero(zeeda),is a traitor,he is colluding with Pp to keep the status quo ,becuase he thinks the one party state can better assure his ill-gotten personal benefits than in a democracy. And greedy Zeeda even has the guts to call this conspiracy democracy-I will call it Piertocracy-which is a combination of communism and hypocriticism.

Piero, also self-proclaimed himself as the main opposition party and that before the election kick started for him to kown how any vote he will obtain to even call hi party a party. The fact is,SNP is still the main oppostion and that for the simple reason that it still as we speak have almost half of the population that voted ofr SNP in the last elction.Secondly,Zeeda believes that seen the united opposition that virtually represent the majority of voters is not participating in this flawed elction by a boycott. His Zeeda party automatically becomes the main oppostion, rediculous isn't it?The voters only will decide your position in the oppostion wether to be the main party thus must more voters than SNP or the small party with only eight hundereds supporters lent to Zeeda party for the occasion.Lastly,Pp,Zeeda can attempt to fake democractic process but a massive abstaintion by voters willsurely deligitimize their whole circus and send Piero,Charpin to find a life.

Michel is the leader of Parti Lepep and is entitled to lead Parti Lepep into the national assembly elections, as party leader, however weird these elections are.

He is not entitled to use the office of the president and state resources to fight the elections as a party leader. But I do not suppose David Pierre will complain about that. After all, Pierre is only fighting to get 10% (5,000 votes) to become leader of the opposition.

He will need fewer than 5,000 votes if there is widespread boycott, as the total votes cast will be less than 50,000. The maths may work in his favour, but the fewer votes he gets the less credibility he will have as leader of the opposition. The less credibility the national assembly will have.

Was Pierre trying to speak for SNP activists last night ? When he tried to stop the party winning the presidential elections in May, did he ask party activists for their opinion ?

When Carpin voted with Parti Lepep in the national assembly did she ask party activists ?

David Pierre is making so many U-turns and he is sounding very dizzy. He will do anything to realise his personal political ambitions.

Interesting reading in The Nation today. Did anyone catch this article?

The third and final action lodged in the District Court of New York against the Republic of Seychelles, the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), its agents and a number of offshore banks in Seychelles, has been dismissed.

The withdrawal of this frivolous lawsuit with its patently false allegations, brought by Cooperhill Investments Ltd and Kazou BV, represents a significant victory for the government and people of Seychelles in facing down frivolous and malicious complaints lodged in the United States, and widely publicised in the international media, in an effort to intimidate the government and FIU from confronting money-laundering taking place in the Seychelles financial services sector.

Parti Lepep=Mouvman Demokratik Popiler.
The 30,000 or so parti lepep supporters who go down to vote will be split between Lepep & Movman.
David Pierre will get his 10% BY HOOK OR BY CROOK. Even if he ends up being the sole "opposition" member on the opposition bench.
That is James Michel's wish & his wish is evryone's command.

Zeeda will get some seats becuase pP wants to give the impression that there is democracy in the country. If Pp would claim 100 percent vote the fraud would be too evident and would make it difficult to defend both locally and internationally.

Michel's presidency will be severely damaged if Parti Lepep gets fewer voters than in May. On top of that, there are many opposition who will go to vote because of victimisation if they do not. They may well decide to vote grudgingly for the Parti Lepep candidate rather than David Pierre's candidate.

For Pierre on democracy, for this jackass seems not to understand the definition of democracy, and this explain why he is faking and helping Pp to rape the lection.

DEMOCRACY CONSISTS OF several BASIC ELEMENTS:
1)A political system for choosing and replacing the government through free and fair election.
2)The active participation of people,as citizens,in politics and civic life.
3)Protect of humand rights of all citizens.
4)A rule of law,in which the laws and procedures apply equally to all citizens.
5) <in democracy the people are sovereign-they are the highest form of politcal authority.
6)Democracy is a system of rule of law not by individuals.
7)The law is fairly, impartially, and consistently enforced,by courts that are independent of the other branches of government.

TOGETHERNESS FOR ELECTORAL REFORMS
STAY AT HOME OR SPOIL YOUR BALLOT PAPER

The opposition forces in Seychelles are making one thing very clear: we are boycotting this election.

We are saying to everyone that this election is a farce and we must make a stand against it. On election day, everyone is asked to stay at home or go to the polling booth and spoil their vote. We must demonstrate to Parti Lepep and the international community that we have had enough of this system, and we are seeking real electoral reforms to advance democracy and secure a level political playing field in Seychelles. The system is rotten and we must therefore continue the fight for change to secure what is best for Seychelles.

Stay at home

The best thing to do is to stay at home on “election” day. By doing this, you will show that you are not taking part in this farce. Your vote will not be taken into account and everyone will get the message that the system is bad in the country.

80% voted in the last elections. It will be a victory for the boycott if fewer than that vote this time. This will demonstrate to Mr Michel and Parti Lepep that the Seychellois are not pawns in their chess game to be messed about with. The Seychellois are not slaves to be ordered around by those who behave like colonial masters.

Spoil your vote

If you feel you have to make the trek to the polling booth, we would like you to realize that this means you are not yet free in this country and that victimization by the state is still rife in Seychelles. This should make you reflect on the need for real change. But in the polling booth, you have just one thing to do. Spoil your vote. You can do this by voting for both candidates or putting a mark across the ballot paper. We do not advise that the ballot paper is left blank. It is better to spoil it properly with a mark on it. This will ensure that the ballot paper will not be counted.

What about Mt Buxton ?

Mt Buxton residents are asking us for guidance because of an independent candidate in that district. Many are saying they would like to vote for this candidate to give David Pierre a proper lesson. We understand this thinking and we would encourage you to do this. After all, he has treated Mt Buxton residents as fools. It is therefore quite correct if the district serves him a good lesson, so that he thinks twice before betraying anyone again. The opposition has no objection if opposition supporters give the independent candidate their support in this election.

Opposition remain solid

The opposition forces in Seychelles are united and standing together to boycott this election. David Pierre is not an opposition party, but an extension and an appendage of Parti Lepep. There is no opposition taking part in this election. That means a vote for David Pierre is a vote for Parti Lepep, and a vote against democracy and electoral reforms in Seychelles. The opposition are making sacrifices because we know that what we always seek is the best for our country. For how much longer will Seychellois continue to suffer and be oppressed just because one party wants to rule forever. Enough is enough.

The story of the Mont Buxton Kok Maron, as told by Marie-Antoinette Rose

It is our great pleasure to bring to you the story of the Mont Buxton Kok Maron, as told in the National Assembly by Marie-Antoinette Rose during the replies to the State of the Nation Address 2011. The leading man in the story is David Pierre, now turned hero by Marie-Antoinette Rose and whom Parti Lepep has put up as its leading collaborator in this election. For his part, Mr Kok Maron is protecting Parti Lepep and Danny Faure. It can be recalled that while the story was being told, David Pierre was insulting Rose. But today Kok Maron and Ti Roz are frolicking in the same pen.

“Mr Speaker, the residents of Mont Buxton want respect and dignity. They do not like being taken for retards and our message is clear. What the residents of Port Glaud have thrown on the scrapheap, Mont Buxton residents will not swallow. If there is a Kok Maron doing the rounds in our district, the women of Mont Buxton must be on their guard. He will not approach our homes. Not after 8pm. We will send him back to Port Glaud where he comes from. I repeat. What the residents of Port Glaud have thrown on the scrapheap, we in the city will not swallow. Someone has asked me to say in this assembly that when Onorab Pierre talks about moral values, give him a piece of advice. It is that tomorrow morning when he wakes up, to look carefully in the mirror and to avoid throwing stones when we live in glass houses.”

Life has funny turns. After all the insults, the man is now in their arms. That’s what we mean in Creole when we say “koson in manz son pider”. We would also like to say to the woman in that shop who calls others thieves to remember that she lives in a glass house.

Potter’s careless talk lets the cat out of the bag

Big-mouthed, foul-mouthed and rather careless Marie Louise Potter has let the cat out of the bag. Last Saturday, she begged people to go and vote and this, according to her, would be boycotting the opposition. So David Pierre is not their opposition in this election ?

This should demonstrate clearly to the Seychellois people that there is no opposition in this election which is between Parti Lepep ‘A’ and Parti Lepep ‘B’. David Pierre is simply a Mickey Mouse party fronting for Danny Faure. We can see very clearly.

I crossed the floor because by Uncle and Godfather James Mancham conspired with F.A. Rene to use armed men on me. I did not sell my soul for money like a professional male stripper cum political ZEEDA or whore.

My circumstance is indeed sad for Seychelles because it shows us the roots of the sell out rest in Mancham himself. Pierre today calls for the same type of politics as Sir James Mancham in 1992. Well Pierre, we are not in 1992. We are in 2011, with the same laws of 1991.

Pierre's situation is sad for Seychelles and Pierre himself because he has been so bold to take the People of Seychelles for fools.

Where will he hide?

The People of Seychelles are not fools.

Regarding Ramkalawan. I call an Ace and Ace and Spade a Spade.

Ramkalawan has done the right thing to push the BOYCOTT envelope along. I see nothing wrong with that.I congratulate him on a right move.

The BOYCOTT is working. I trust Mr. Michel will do the right thing and resign upon the confirmation that Pierre does not win a district himself, nor does his party garner 10%.

Behind this BOYCOTT rests the stinking rot of PL Communists trying to field a fake opposition party and candidate. Michel said early in the National Day Speech this year, he would replace the opposition because it was not cooperative.

An opposition's job is not to be cooperative with a communist regime. It must not negotiate with a party that seeks to keep a people under the subterfuge of one party state .

This is where Pierre and all his ZEEDA lie to us to collect their money: we are and have been in a one party state for 18 years. The laws of the one party communist state that affect our liberty is still in tact.

Game is up SPPF PL Communist. Change your ways, or change will change you.

Why is David Pierre visiting State House in the morning ?

Workers at State House and people nearby are posing themselves this question. What is David Pierre’s business at State House practically every morning ? He drives up there and returns more than a hour later.

Who does he see there ?

Who is handling him there ?

Seychellois want to know what is going on, because these underhand activities taking place in our country make this election a real farce. What is happening should make everyone in the opposition stop and wonder what is the real role of David Pierre and his mis-named ‘Mouvman Demokratik Popiler’. Is it not just a contraption to legitimise Parti Lepep and James Michel in this election at the end of September ?

It is clear that the contact with State House started when David Pierre went to see Danny Faure to sell-out SNP. Ask yourself then, if it is the continuation of the same operation, with one big difference this time. David Pierre is not just selling out himself but all opposition supporters as well. He is negotiating for his own interests, but to succeed he needs votes. David Pierre is selling you a pig in a poke.

David Pierre must come clean with all Seychellois. He must explain why he visits State House, who he sees there and what he is discussing with them. He must come clean on his real agenda.

As a voter, you must realise that there are many underhand activities going on behind closed doors. Don’t dig a hole for yourself, out of which it will be difficult to escape. David Pierre says he is in the opposition, but he does not talk with the opposition. He talks with State House. What do you call this ?

Roy Fonseka, who was Mancham's security at the time and the entire DP Executive Committee can confirm the conspiracy is true.

Now, with regard to David Pierre and company.

Let it be clear, that a communist party cannot sponsor a fake opposition and do it so openly as you PL idiots are doing, and expect the country to remain in good democratic standing as a successful state. Our credit rating will drop simply because of the perception that an opposition must be fielded by the ruling party to fake democracy. What planet do you live on?

I am not interested, and nor is SFP interested in being wondow dressing for any one. Not you, not communists , not PL, not for old DP, not for SNP or anyone else.

We will call an Ace and Ace and a Spade a spade until we get real democracy in this country and individual and institutional rights are respected as they should be.

Similarly, we have no intention of going to sleep and allow you to trample of Seychellois rights to regulate the principle of "Sesel Pou Seselwa" a dead ideology.

Boycott Ă  la Albert Rene

During the 2008 Mont Fleuri bye-election, ancient president Albert Rene asked his party’s supporters to boycott the election. He told them to stay at home that day, or take the day to go shopping in town. For the upcoming National Assembly elections, the opposition are asking the 25,000 who voted for Messrs Ralph Volcere, Philippe Boulle and Wavel Ramkalawan to do exactly the same. DON’T GO TO VOTE.

To quote Mr Rene, “this election is a farce and a waste of time”. The boycott that the opposition are asking is to indicate the level of confidence that we have in the state of democracy in our country. Seselwa are fed up with being taken for a ride.

The boycott is how we want to send a clear message to the government of James Michel and Parti Lepep that we refuse to take part in their farce. What is required of them is to implement electoral reforms and let real democracy flourish in our country. Seychellois want a decent country to live in. The opposition are not after titled positions, but want to see justice and democracy.

Don’t go telling lies

Was lying to the Seychelles electorate one of David Pierre’s first acts as leader of Mouvman David Pierre ? During a press interview on nominations day, David Pierre said that he had personally met and interviewed 35 people who wanted to be candidates for his party.

What he failed to tell the Seychellois people was that it was very hard slog finding 25 candidates. What’s more, while people were resting at home on a Sunday, he arrived seeking signatures to endorse his candidates. In the end, his choice was very limited and desperate. He was embarrassed to say that he had approached a number of SNP representatives and activists who flatly turned him down, despite some saying they were promised huge sums of money. The only thing that was easy for David Pierre was to kid several individuals who did not realise they were putting a rope around their neck. In some cases, several members of the same family had to be cajoled into standing. The morons, the mentally ill or the alcoholics were more than welcomed to stand for MDP. What matters is just Pierro.

Do the maths, people:
As a result of the boycott, only 30,000 people go down to vote.
David Pierre needs 3,000 votes to gain a proportional seat.
He's been intelligent to put a buffoon in each of the 25 districts. They need to get an average of 750 votes each for him to achieve this. An uphill task no doubt but -Possible? Not without parti Lepep's help. You can bet that James Michel, Danny Faure, Marie-Louise Potter and co are working overtime to deliver these votes. Their own survival & credibility depend on Pierre getting at seat. AT WHATEVER COST.

Anonymous said...

Indeed, the opposition should be circulating their message of boycott via other sources other than the website where limited people have access.

Anonymous said...

If only 30,000 vote, Michel is dead and buried. Danny Faure will be knocking on his door demanding he leaves. The harem is his.

Also, if only 30,000 vote, it means the boycott is solid by the opposition. Pierre will be lucky if he gets 300 votes.

MDP=Mouvman David Pierre + Parti Lepep – Reform Elektoral

Seychellois, in particular those letting themselves being duped by David Pierre, must understand well that the man is just a smokescreen for Parti Lepep. He has his own personal interests at heart in everything that he does. To understand this, just look at the name of the party that he has formed.

He first called his party PDP. He tried to con people saying this meant Parti Demokratik Popiler. False. It meant Parti David Pierre. When Mr Volcere objected and threatened legal action, Pierre rushed through a name change and called it MDP. Once again, the man was playing with the alphabet and duping people. The true meaning of MDP is Mouvman David Pierre.

It is clear that this man is obsessed with his own image and is just stringing along those who have allowed themselves to be used as candidates. He knows it. In fact, he is laughing behind their backs. After all the abuse hurled at him by Jourdanne, Jane, Marlene and Doreen, he has managed to turn them into halfwits and has made them his slaves in a party designed to serve just him.

It is sad to see how these loud-mouths have fallen into his trap. He gives no details on his deals. Jane gets the crumbs and allows herself to be convinced that she is strong at Au Cap. Careful that the election does not baptise you 'Jane 30'.

The deal struck by David Pierre was to marshall 25 candidates so that the election can be held. Danny Faure did not want Parti Lepep to win all 35 seats in the assembly without an election. David Pierre is just fronting for Danny Faure and duping those 24 people.

You try to run and hide, with undeclared insinuations, in spite of using a fake profile which the internet generation at Google and Facebook discourages.

The conspiracy between Rene and Mancham is confirmed by those that day who were at the DP CONVENTION members and executive committee and Mancham's security, who operated under his sole instructions.

What happened at my home is just ancillary to that conspiracy.

Mancham has been a sell out and traitor to his people and his own family for years.

Today, David Pierre has stated in an interview with TODAY, that he will follow in the footsteps of Mr. Mancham. This explains why he is at State House every morning at 7.30 am and fielding an opposition team in spite of a all out BOYCOTT.

The fire at my residence is similar to other events that have been taking place around myself and others that speak out for FREEDOM.

What is the difference between the fire on my property and Lydia Jumeau's fire? Both instances involved people speaking out and both instances people like you, said we burnt our own things. Yet, Lydia, did not have insurance. I could not burn my own things if I was asleep and my establishment was full of Tourist.

The use of fire is an attempt to foment FEAR.It is a tool of communism, nothing else.

This is the same objective when state thugs shot our Seychelles Freedom Party truck with a 9mm, shattering the rear window.

This is the same objective when state thugs broke into our office and stole files, equipment, campaign materials, and hard drives.

This is the same objective when thugs call our office staff and ask for information.

This is the same objective, when they beat detained JP Isaac and chased down A. Battin activist to kill him. But Battin is faster then your thugs and smarter.

FEAR is the tool of the One Party STATE. If you still use it, it shows that your mentality is still One Party State.

If that is so, you are still a bunch of COMMUNISTS.

Your tool of choice is the hammer, sickle and knife to break and cut our bodies up into submission.

From this rock, we will not be moved, Communist!

Seychelles deserves better then your failures year after year.

You Communists have failed Seychelles. Because of that, you are duty bound to look at yourselves carefully in the mirror and reflect well, what you have become.

The Maths are correct.

The situation is desperate.

Michel will have pressure from all sides to resign, even RENE and KHALIFA.

He has attempted to overreach into the opposition camp openly and overtly to fake democracy. All the work done by the opposition collectively has exposed this over reaching.

His 5 years is over already. Seychelles will not move forward with Michel running it at this point.

Seychelles will slug it out and suffer severe downturn if Michel stays. If he leaves, a new generation as a chance to move on and clean up the mess.

The mess will have to be cleaned by everyone.

PL knows Pierre will not do well.

Hence, they are banking on Mont Buxton to give him One (1) seat. They have encouraged the candidate there to lose the elections. Hence, given the dynamics of the situation, the fielding of an Independent candidate to block Pierre is a appropriate move.

Boycott message is spreading, but just on the net. United Boycott newsletter is 10,000 a week. The SFP has done 8,000 last week on its own steam with the help of supporters to back up the effort.

Weekly has done an excellent job as well and circulation is up.

We need to keep it up and spread the message, build on it.

Our biggest advantage of course, is ZEEDA himself!

Everyone should insure they get a cartoon of the man floating around in the streets.

ZEEDA, if you need a portrait of yourself as Leader of the Opposition in a fake Democracy, call me, I will do one for free.

The maths should be this:
With 30,000 voters, Pierre needs just 3,000 to win a proportional seat. Just over 100 votes in each of the 25 districts he's put a buffoon to stand in.
With Lepep's help, he should make it. A sole Leader of Opposition on the opposition bench, leading no opposition. Seated next to Lepep in the assembly, he will look like an extension of that party, and in fact, an extension he would be.
He will fart when Danny faure & James Michel tell him to.

By the way, guys - what's the likelihood that Mancham is behind David's party and is providing some of the funding?????
Just a thought.

Agreed that not too much ethics go into international aid, much to the delight of the Parti Lepep government. They learnt that soon after the coup d'etat, when the great democracies in the world were lining up to cuddle up to them, in case the communists moved in first. Their security and survival in the cold war era trumped their professed moral values and ethics in the international arena. Indeed the Chinese and Russians were reluctant at first. The big bear embrace came much later.

Many of these foreigners responsible for deciding on their government's or organisation's foreign aid can't wait to visit places like Seychelles, where they can enjoy a free holiday (while pretending to be on official business) at the expense of their government or international organisation, not to mention the freebies that the Parti Lepep government throws in while they are in the country. There have been many scandals of large foreign delegations from the EU going to exotic locations, supposedly to check how foreign aid is working out in these countries. They are hardly going to leave Seychelles off the list, if it means foregoing a week or so in the sun when winter starts to bite in the northern hemisphere. In Seychelles, we are ignorant of these things. We tend to think that foreigners must be morally more superior than us. It is not necessarily the case. Tony Blair took not just one, but two subsidised family holidays from the SPPF government in the very house that the SPPF expropriated from its rightful owner a few years earlier. Did he care ? If he did, he hid it very well while lapping up SPPF hospitality on La Digue.

To influence foreign aid policies of foreign governments and international organisations, you need to apply POLITICAL pressure on them and EMBARRASS them if their actions contradict the moral values that they publicly, not necessarily privately, espouse. You can't rely on them exercising the moral values that they say they have. Such influence is best exerted in their home countries. Nothing is worse for them than a scandal in their morning papers or in the television news. That means finding an angle that will interest their national media, as we saw with the British press and the shark attack on the British honeymooner.

Political activities in Seychelles are unlikely to influence them, unless they make it to the national media in Europe and elsewhere. Local diplomats are there to foster good relations with the government (ignore the bullshit about the people), unless they too can be scandalised and shamed back at home into reporting the truth. I am amazed at the number of times Wavel Ramkalawan were expecting foreign diplomats to stand between the Parti Lepep government and the people, to protect them from government excesses. Of course they never did. Prince William cared diddly-squat about our dodgy democracy, then in full swing, when he was tanning himself on our beach to later show off his tan to his mates. A place to guarantee a good tan was what did it. Niccolo Machiavelli got it absolutely right. Read The Prince.

An anonymous profile from someone who is not comfortable to come out open and fight for Freedom is understandable.

But an anonymous profile from someone who is defending Communism, sham elections, buying of the fake opposition, fabrication of facts, is not acceptable. It discredits you and the PL Communists simply because they foment falsehood, deceit misrepresentations, to survive in a debate setting.

In reality, they use FEAR, violence and intimidation, breaking of arms, bodies, killing of the human spirit and that which is humanly good to survive.

Because you discredit yourself, and all that you represent, only shows your nuisance value to the blog.

It also shows the desperation of the PL, because you are pay rolled by them.

Just remember that David Pierre would become the Leader of the Opposition with one single vote.

This Country is more Democratic than when we gained Independence in 1976 thanks to FAR because the late Finlay Rosalie stood for Election on the Platform that "we do not want Independence" and he was the only person who voted against Seychelles becoming independence.

As a result, the Leader of the Opposition at Independence should have been Finlay Rosalie and the Coalition Government of Sir James Mancham would have been truly democratic.

Come election time, every Seychellois will be voting and the ex Opposition Leader including Totof and Volgrenn will be sucking their thumps.......errrrhhh on an egg for they have signed their own suicide note for advocating a Boy named Cott.

The only good thing I can say for our local gang of western diplomats is that after the stand their governments are taking on Libya and Syria, they will be exposed as IMMORAL if they keep frolicking with the Parti Lepep government now that the opposition are boycotting the elections and provided David Pierre does badly in the elections. Otherwise they care diddly-squat about our internal politics. They will not need much encouragement to carry on with the frolicking. All that needs to happen is for David Pierre to have a credible result in the election. They will happily live with supporting Parti Lepep's brand of democracy, while bombing Libyans to impose "democracy", if they can get away with the double standards. They normally do.

Anonymous said...

It will also not take much pressure from western governments to end the affront to democracy in Seychelles. There is no doubt that the decision by Michel to appoint an Electoral Commission (to stop the pretence that a one-man Electoral Commissioner was just as good and Gappy was doing the work of half a dozen men and women) was due in large parts to Sarkozy's message of congratulations which made undiplomatic and barbed references to the things that won the election for Parti Lepep. Normally the French would have happily ignored the report of the election observers. But this time the timing was rather awkward. It came at a time when Sarkozy was using NATO's planes and bombs to bring democracy to Libya. He could hardly ignore the report while sending his congratulations. Although to be fair to Sarko, this was the first election in Seychelles on his watch and Michel Tretout is long dead.

I think in this elections, Parti Lepep will want to maintain its vote. It will be disastrous if they were to poll less than May 2011. Anything less than 32,000 will be a defeat for Michel. His 'Arab Spring' will be just round the corner.

Next, Parti Lepep will be looking at the turnout. Potential defeat there too. The turnout has to be higher than 83% (May 2011). They are now wishing Gappy had cleared these dead people from the register. There was no time to register new voters as this is done in January. But some May voters (hope mostly Parti Lepep ones) are now pushing up daisies. A turnout of less than 83% will mean a success for the boycott. Voters, dead or alive, stayed away.

Next, Parti Lepep will be looking at the spoilt votes. These are included in the 83% turnout. But will indicate the number of people who were forced to go and vote but decided to boycott in the polling booths.

The turnout and the spoilt votes will indicate the level of the boycott.

Next, Parti Lepep will be looking at David Pierre's performance to see if there will be a credible national assembly with the credible opposition. I can't see where Pierre will win a directly elected seat. In any case, before the boycott, Parti Lepep set a target of 25-0 over SNP. After May, Michel was already boasting about his additional "5" districts. Anything less than that will be a defeat in the eyes of the opposition and I dare say for PL supporters who do not care much for democracy and want the one-party state. To get into the national assembly, Pierre will need to get at least 4000 votes. Even a lousy mathematician can see that the figures do not add up for Pierre and his hopeless gambit. He will be lucky if he gets anywhere near the 1126 that Ramkalawan got at Mont Buxton in May. We have seen for years at Port Glaud that Pierre is not a magnet for votes. I cannot see why the majority of his candidates will get more than a handful in the other districts. Would you send any of them to represent you in the national assembly ? The sight of Carpin raising her right hand not one, not two but three times to support Parti Lepep in the last national assembly was like walking into a room and catching your parents having sex. Gross ! Why would you send her back there, unless you are a perv ? Pierre's MDP reminds me of the Charge of the Light Brigade. It is hard to think that MDP was conceived with electoral success in mind.

But he deserves electoral humiliation for the simple reason that he is hindering the democratic process in the country, while calling his ragtag army the movement for popular democracy.

Tiklo Proxy For Rene The Butcher-

The title of the article is "Desperate Times Calls For Desperate Measures".

Pierre going to STATE HOUSE every morning is a desperate act, because his pension and an MNA and his salary as a teacher, is not enough for him to live in Michel's Seychelles.

As a Public figure, he is duty bound to explain his presence at State House, because the allegations made have not been denied. Hence, if he remains silent, it becomes true.

The damaged goods are people like yourself TIKLO and Rene, who can hardly breath while being driven around town; Michel who needs a football team of ladies to write his letters and file them. He needs a think tank of 50,000 litres to figure out if he is coming or going.

Damaged goods are things like a BANKRUPTED STATE, and a BROKEN SOCIETY, all accomplished, under Michel administration.

Damaged goods is what STB has done to our image as a destination and the Minister of Tourism ( James Michel) , when they flew to Australia for a nonsense state visit, while the second shark attack on Mr. Ian Redman ravaged Seychelles internationally.

I have never experience a political campaign as civil as this one. It seems that jack and Jill are both enjoying a very good campaign with nothing to say. After all David Pierre is about constructive politic which means frolicking with Michel and lining his pockets with dollars and the poor parti lepep supporters who have been working tirelessly to ensure Michel got elected through his fraudulent election are still eating the cramps and leftovers.

Going back to the party political broadcast Jack alais lepep wants to be elected to continue their unfinished work which look like a road with no dead end. I just wonder after 34 years when will it ever finished.

On the other hand Jill's after colluding with Lepep their only mantra is to stop Seychelles going into a one party state. What a bunch of idiots are these PDM stooges? When was Seychelles a democratic state after 5 June 1977. Can a country call itself a democracy where people are victimise if they do not toe the lepep line, a state controlled judicial system,a government controlled assembly, a political biased radio station please give us a break. Let us call a spade a spade. Open your eyes dear Seychelloises cause we are really living in the kingdom of the blind and all the monkeys in our society are kings.

What sort of opposition leader David Pierre will be since he has not even been elected and he is courting James Michel at State. This is how slow David Pierre is after calling James Michel a coward and now he is being promoted by the same coward because a great mathematician he is . He could never win an election against a simple teacher in the rank of Mrs Gamatist who never went to university. This how great a leader is David Pierre alais cock Maron.

"Catholic Church has called for spoil votes if you go vote and are unhappy with the situation".

I have not seen the church's comments and the context in which they have allegedly made these comments.
My views differ on this. It's indeed our civic right to go and vote. When we do so, we should be choosing one candidate from amongst several. HOWEVER, if the candidates on offer do not appeal to me or the circumstances of the voting exercise itself is dubious, I am equally exercising my civic right TO STAY HOME, thereby sending the clear message that I disagree with the process and want no part in it.
Since this whole election is a charade from start to finish, everyone who loves this beautiful country of ours should simply stay home.

The church is still fixated intellectually in the one party state and perceives the government to be an abusive ruler, and the people, to be victims at times.

It has said that if you do not vote, you will not have "a tick" next to your name.

This means, according to the Church, that you will be or can be, victimized.

The church says that having no tick next to your name can mean that others will be victimized like your brother or sister.

The church does not seem to believe that the SPPF PL are beyond victimization.

There statement indicates that they perceive victimization to be part of everyday life in Seychelles, and the Church is overwhelmed with the matter, since many people say, the Church does not do enough to help DEMOCRACY in Seychelles.

By telling you to go vote and spoil the vote if you are un happy, the Church is washing its hands and relieving itself of complaints at its front door.

The Church is silent on the "credibility of the vote and process", which is a key issue in this election.

Pierre was almost always scored between 45-47% in the Assembly elections, had it not been for the reasons which the SNP is putting forward as impediments to free and fair elections he would have won. You seem to have conveniently forgotten the money and other methods used to buy votes in Port Glaud and other districts. Let us be fair.

The question is whether on his own steam without the backing of SNP, Pierre will be able to achieve better. Answer in a few weeks.

We will never know now. Pierre has moved to Mont Buxton where he had better chances as an SNP candidate. He is accumulating a long list of epithets in trying to achieve his political ambitions -- the latest is carpet-bagger. On the basis of his PPBs so far, giving his candidates a tick will be a total waste of ink. Like Mancham, Pierre is telling us either everything is fine now with PL's behaviour or he can tame the Parti Lepep beast if only we would elect him.

If Pierre gets more than 10%, it would mean that opposition supporters behave very much like Parti Lepep supporters in the polling booth and that they will vote for a monkey if it says it is standing for the opposition and standing against Parti Lepep.

Pierre is pitching his message at opposition supporters only. He is only looking for 10% of votes cast. But that equates to 25% of the SNP vote in May. Does Pierre really have 25% of SNP behind him ? It does not look that way. I am doing the simple maths for the mathematician, who may be overlooking basic arithmetics and relying on the pythagoras theorem for victory, as it is not too late to recognise the error of his ways and the errors in his optimistic calculations. Don't count on the registered voters who did not vote for either Michel, Ramkalawan, Volcere or Boulle in May, thinking they were waiting for a bald-headed politico to come. They are busy pushing up daisies to care. If Pierre needs less than 25% of SNP supporters on a low turnout, it will be a pyrrhic victory for his chums in State House.

WikiLeaks says that the real reason Albert Rene boycotted the 2008 Mont Fleuri bye-election was to save the money for the general elections in 2012. They will need all that money to bribe people to go and vote for David Pierre. Parti Lepep has a well-oiled election bribing machine. Whether they can now rejig this machine to work in a different way remains to be seen. Talking about Albert Rene. This must be the last elections he sees. Like everything else he ever laid his grubby hands on, it is ending in a mighty mess. He will be pushing up daisies by the time the next one comes along. Grisly stuff !

What really gives Dhanjee a political status in this country above that of the average voter ? He has made some ill-timed comments in Today today, hardly intended to maximise the boycott. They are the sort of comments that send just one message to Parti Lepep -- I am detached from the opposition, whenever you want me, just make me an offer.

Dhanjee's status comes from the fact that he messed up his nomination papers and has enough money to employ a lawyer to take his gripes to the constitutional courts and the court of appeal and get coverage on SBC, unlike your average Seychellois.

In politics today, we need savvy street fighters who will take the fight to Parti Lepep. In clover politicians don't float my boat.

If these people think that there is something that should be done for the boycott and Ramkalawan is not doing it, they should just go ahead and do it. Stop carping about Ramkalawan.

They want to set themselves up as an alternative leader to Ramkalawan, yet when it comes to street action they are happy to hide behind him.

PL thinks Ramkalawan is the man to beat. So, apparently, do some aspiring opposition honchos.

Probably the only photo available of a French president with their Seychelles counterpart. Comment on Dhanjee status-

You ask what status does Dhanjee have to comment on opposition-

What kind of arrogant question is that?

Dhanjee's status that garners him a first page interview in TODAY, whether or not you agree with what he says, comes from the fact that he is a citizen and one that has fought for his rights openly, without a party structure to protect him, with that, he fights for democracy, versus a tyrannical regime, irrespective of whether he has won the battles, the war is not over.

As a soldier for Freedom, he has the status he so achieves as an individual, because he chooses this status.

If Dhanjee was to wait for PL Communist to give him some status, he would go into his grave without status.

Every Citizen is what he chooses to be- in a Democracy. That is what FREEDOM is, whether or not we have achieved this threshold in Seychelles yet.

We clearly have not, from your ass in a vice comment.

David Pierre similarly has achieved his status as a sell out, he is not alone and there are many lining up to fight for that trophy.

Could it be that Dhanjee gets space in TODAY to vent his spleen because he is a potential advertiser ? I will not get space because I have no business to advertise ?

Dhanjee's interview is the same as Pierre's interview in the playing field on SBC as the presidential elections kicked off. Can Ramkalawan trust these people and take advice from them ? If he meets with them, he risks being contaminated by whatever deals these semi-detached opposition go on to make with Parti Lepep.

Isn't Dhanjee old enough to realise that now is not the time to criticise the main leader of the opposition ? Can't he wait 2 weeks ? This is not about democratic rights. It is about politicians knowing when to speak and when to shut their traps. If he thinks now is the time to settle scores publicly and stab Ramkalawan in the back, then he is not worth of any support from the opposition.

Smart work !

Jourdanne Enesta zero, some time i ask my self were those peoples,i see their face on nation were did their learn poltic.

This communist regime will still continue screw up Seselwa,if we dont take action in the near future for change and for the real Democracy in Seychelles.Boycott is not enough if we want democracy and justice, freedom for SEselwa.

Ha Ha! It now that we Seychelloises are seeing the fruits of the communists system by watching that party political broadcast on SBC. Thanks to David Pierre to further expose how shambles this election is just by watching the two parties PPB. Just imagine a level political landscape with members of the real opposition taking part. This clearly proves that David Pierre lied when he said that he had the support of SNP supporters. Just watch the meeting tomorrow you would see the type of people who are associated with the opposition. The great majority are well educated Seychelloises not the bunch of losers that David had been telling us.
Unless the Seychelloises do something about this system who strive on mediocrity. We will see more than that. Imagine in Seychelles after 34 years cannot have a qualified Seychelloise to fill the post of the chairman of Air Seychelles a place left vacant by the incompetent David Savy.
What we are seeing is the leadership of our country.
First take a look at the educational system. The schools are vandalized, indiscipline and arrogance are rampant in schools about 75% of our students are under achieved, teenage pregnancies are on the rise. What is the system doing to redress that nothing? The answer for not doing anything because simply these Monkey kings strive on the uneducated segment of the society and by increasing the percentage of under achieved Seychelloises ensure that their communist system remain intact and they can enjoy their lavish and immoral life styles. The great majority of the Seychelloises they are content with eating the leftovers from these monkey kings.

One casing point a certain future MNA who was a primary school teacher, a staunch supporter of parti lepep joined the NIE and went for a Bachelor in education in Australia, came back became the HOD of science without any good track record, not even doing two years in the secondary school when to teach at the NIE and guess what he was in charge of curriculum development for science for the secondary school. In no time he was in charge of the youth political organization of lepep and now he is standing for MNA.
His other good friend went to Australia as well in the field of education, because the studies coordinator of a secondary school without any proven track record, failed the local MBA, joined the lepep leadership program, guess what he is a member of the board of the DBS without any experience in the banking system what so ever. In brief this is the situation in the Seychelles. Well educated Seychelloises are marginalized simple because they would like to remain independent thinkers, remain true to the profession ethics and refused to join the bandwagon of lepep mediocrity, corrupt practices, nepotisms and failures.
For these simple reasons why we should boycott this shamble election simply because it is very insulting to our intelligence and this charade is only good for lepep but it is very bad for the future of Seychelles who is fight peacefully for now to get these communists parasites of our beautiful Seychelles whom they are continual sucking the very life from it. These communists they have only some of the following agendas.
1. Create an immoral Seychelles where they can break all the family fabric.
2. Rob the Country of all its limited resources in order to life a lavish life style with their cliques.
3. Deprived the real Seychelloises to participate in the economic development of our own country.
4. Turn our beautiful nation into Arabs slaves to please their colonial masters
Please Seychelloises open our eyes let us re-unite by having a mutual understanding for each others. Let us help our brothers and sisters who are fighting for the same causes and be a force with moral principles and good leadership for our country. Let us show respect for those who have fought and became comfortable with material wealth but slowly but surely he has come to realize that you cannot expect anything from the communists because they are immoral and insincere and their fake patriotisms is simply motivated by self greed and ego in order to elevate themselves to the status of god.

See you all at the meeting at Sullivan's tomorrow.

Why does Dhanjee think he should be allowed to influence Ramkalawan ? He might have bought his space in Today but he can't buy SNP. Gill and Dhanjee are mere sideshows, trying to get in on the main act. Soon even David Pierre will be able to show he has more support than these two.

Come elction day,we should party and celebrate our popular boycott and the camaraderie of fellow patriots. We must help them resist any late urge to vote, becuase by then millions of Tax payers money will be spent by special interests to make us feel guilty and ashmaed if we do not ovte. All that advertising and pundit-screaming to herd us into the booths will verify that our boycott is working. There are already proof that it is working thus the precipitation by Pp to dissolved the Assembly,self-nominated the Electoral Commissioners, created fake aprty and there are more to come.

Time to BOYCOT.Boycott will pressure Pp to fix the system, but before it can be fixed,it must be disconstructed then rebuilt.

Jean Paul Isaac: As the second in command of SFP & MSR what is your stance on the gay people amongst us?
This question is for Christopher Gill as well!
Under SFR will the gay minority have the same rights as the rest of the populace?
Straight forward question for a straight forward answer please!

Alain St Ange joins the Air Seychelles Board of Directors, representing the tourism sector.

Is he representing the government or the private sector or both ?

Anonymous said...

He is representing himself i guess.Having someone from the tourism branch into Air Seychelles board is not a bad think, maybe he will be able influence the board positively on many important issues but the question that begs an answer is ,Did anybody from the private sectors give him their consentment to do so?

If St Ange is there are representing STB that's fine. If he is to represent the trade, better have somebody from the trade itself and there are dozens of them around.

Piknik popiler on the day of the erection.

The plot gets murkier.
Several parti lepep supporters from the party's "seksyon" have been instructed to vote for the PDP in their district.
Lepep is intent on having David Pierre in the assembly - BY HOOK OR BY CROOK. And David Pierre will get his 10% to make it.
Boycott or vote spoiling is a double-edged sword. A lower turn-out makes it easier for David Pierre to squeeze his way in.

Thank you to let us know.

Just another trick of this communist regime. How long can we stand and look.

There was no point taking part in these elections. Even if SNP came back with 11 seats, how would the next five years be any different to the last five ? How would the 2016 elections be different from the 2011 ?

Boycott will bring changes. Especially if David Pierre is elected Leader of Opposition on the back of Parti Lepep votes.

WikiLeaks cable says that the US Ambassador reported to the Obama government that he questioned Michel about the treatment of the opposition in 2008. Michel responded that he was working towards an "arrangement". That probably explains the politics of both the government and SNP at the time. Michel knows that a fake opposition in the national assembly will bring problems for him on the international stage. That is why he is keen on an opposition (a weak one) and will go for a fake one if he can't get a real opposition.

Michel cannot afford to have fewer votes than he did in May.

Anonymous said...

If Mont Buxton votes for the independent candidate, David Pierre will need two seats or 20% to become Leader of the Opposition.

Anonymous said...

I can see why people will go to the polling station. They do not want to be victimised. Seychellois are not yet ready to make any sacrifices to live in a decent, transparent and democratic country where they control the government. Parti Lepep will have a record of everyone who went to vote.

What I find difficult to understand is the lack of moral outrage at Parti Lepep's antics to stay in power. In the polling booth, they can spoil their vote. If they do not do that, they deserve the likes of Michel, Pierre, Parti Lepep and MDP. Spoling your vote is a painless way to demand democratic changes and demand changes in how this government treats the people.

Further to the announcement of an SNP function at Sullivan's garage Beau Vallon, which was made without consultation with the Seychelles Freedom Party, the Leader of the SFP has made a press release to provide guidance to its supporters and members at this critical point of Seychelles political history.

The Boycott must remain in place and all voters are asked to not vote.

Those that do go vote, are asked to spoil their vote.

Democracy and Freedom promised by F.A. Rene in November 1991, has not been delivered.

It is the responsibility of the People of Seychelles to hold the Michel Administration accountable.

SFP supporters and members must not allow themselves to be used by Wavel Ramkalawan in a public meeting, which is attempting to hijack the BOYCOTT issue to save his own skin, when he stands on two banana peels politically.

It is important that the Boycott be carried out in PEACE and that the opposition do not , give the SPPF PL the opportunity to derail the legitimacy of the BOYCOTT.

The time to come together will be after the BOYCOTT is successful.

Why does not Parti Lepep simply withdraw one or two of its candidates ? Or bump them off.

Anonymous said...

Gill, this is a cryptic message. Please explain clearly.

Anonymous said...

Sounds like Gill is scared of an SNP meeting.

Gill "boycotted" the presidential elections. Did nothing during the elections and in the 4 months since.

Anonymous said...

Ramkalawan's skin will be in trouble if the boycott is ineffective. But then so will Gill and others. Gill's May 2011 boycott was ineffective.

The boycott will be ineffective if:

(a) same number of voters cast valid votes as in May.
(b) PL wins 32,000 votes or more
(c) PL wins 21 direct seats or more
(d) Pierre gets 25,000 votes, 45% and 11 seats.

There is a need to energise the opposition in the run-up to the elections.

Anonymous said...

I did say that Ramkalawan should not allow himself to be held back by these marginal opposition politicians with no evidence of popular support. They want too much influence for their moral support.

Anonymous said...

Send the press release to SBC. They will be more than happy to give it publicity.

Seychellois are not ready to rule themselves said a blogger. You must be a communist,to just decided to speak in the names of the people. If you want to know what Seychellois want conduct free and fair election ,or a referedum.Seychellois took independence in 1976 to do just that but unfortunately their aspiration was kidnapped by a gang of crooks .

Aonther blogger said Pierre will win 10%.yes of course. That is exactly why Pp paid him to create a fake aprty and to participate in this fake elction because PP cannot go it alone for it would have to claim 100% victory which will deligitimize itself.Pp wants credibility, and to have credibility it must give the impression that there is some sort of competition - so the solution after the massive boycott by oppostion is simple, create a fake party in order to have the competition it wants.Pierre doesnot care of how many seats he will have but how much money PP pays him to be faked. In fact he mighteven bargain for more money before the election for he is the key to Pp sucessful,pp depends on him .He can for example tell PP in a week that he will also be boycotting the election, then you will see Pp running to offer him more money to stay in the race else it will mean PP ends.

I reply to position on GAYS.

I have been asked this question many times, and offer a position of myself personally and SFP.

MSR is not a legal entity.

No government should discriminate against sexual orientation.

As a Seychellois, you have the right to sexual preference.

SFP accepts gays and lesbians as it does non gay and non lesbians.

We also will defend them when the situation calls for it.

David Pierre will not get 20& of the votes. Lepep wants an "opposition" - any opposition but do not want anybody who could make their lives difficuly in gaining more power.
David Pierre cannot be allowed to think that he has the ability to challenge Danny Faure in the next presidential elections. There is kouyon & fou. Lepep may be kouyon, but not fou.

Anonymous said...

Ramka's attitude vis a vis Gill is that the latter is insignificant in this struggle.
He may be right, but isn't now the time to unite ALL opposition forces in the country and speak with ONE voice?
Pierre said it right in his PPB - the opposition would have made much more headway if they were united.

Anonymous said...

Calling Gill insignificant, is like the left leg saying to right leg, we don't need a brain.

Sorry, about this one, but we all know that without Gill harping up and down over Boycott, there would be no Boycott.

Ramkalawan is threatened by Gill and we all know it.

But the issue is not either Ramkalawan or Gill . The issue is what is best for Seychelles today.

Right now, Pierre thinks he is best and so does SPPF. They could give a rats ass what Ramkalawan or Gill have to say about it if the Boycott does not work.

Anonymous said...

Gill's role is to support Ramkalawan. He is deluding himself if he thinks he is equal to Ramkalawan and that Ramkalawan should treat him as an equal. Soon we will have David Pierre with his handful of votes asking to be treated as an equal.

We have an opposition leader who got 23,500 votes. Until someone else gets that many votes, the position stays the same.
