The Seychelles Communists Party is exposing their serious state of mind disorder in the month of June.
On June 5th, they claim that they are liberators. But the person they liberated themselves from, Sir James Mancham, a deposed President, sits besides them in public meetings, he is offered VIP status under their government and is pensioned. In public rallies, they proclaim quite arrogantly, “Se Nou Ki Lepep!”
That is the pitch for the days leading up to June 5th.
June 5th Fiasco
The focus of attention on June 5th, is Zomn Lib, a metal statute, designed proudly by Pauline Ferrari when she was a Youth Pioneer in the One Party State Dictatorship, when the Communists of Seychelles restricted overtly and openly basic human freedoms. This included the jailing of descendants, the exiling of many, and the acquisition of lands belonging to Seychellois. They argued that the acquisition of lands was necessary to redistribute land to the landless to correct historical injustices. That does not explain why they exiled so many Seychellois, and today, they do not have the right to vote as bona fide citizens of the land. Many as Dr. Jose Souyave, travel regularly to Seychelles , own business interests here, that are very substantial and pay more then their fair share of taxes, but cannot vote. It equates to taxation without representation, and the Communists, will be happy to know, that this very concept, is what led to the American Revolution in 1776, when the Colonists declared Independence from King George of the England .
Today, this is what June 5th, has given us, Taxation without representation, it has given us a party that calls themselves, Lepep, and they say “Se Nou Ki Lepep”. Fair enough, but that represents if at all only 48% of the population legitimately, at best based on historical comparisons. The remaining percentages are scammed through rigging of the Voters List. We know it has been alleged and not denied, that as much as 5,000 votes can be rigged, and this last election a tremendous effort was made to rig an extra 2,000.
The opposition should unite, and demand that the sham elections be cancelled and run another one with UN and Commonwealth conducting the elections. I am 100% sure, James Michel will lose by a large substantial margin. In the meantime, a BOYCOTT of the National Assembly must be maintained and respected by all parties.
“Se Nou Ki Lepep”
The gross inference of “Se Nou Ki Le Pep”, is that if you do not support the Communists party of Seychelles , you do not form part of the people of Seychelles . This mental voyage that the Communist party has taken neglects to reflect accurately on the state of the nation, if it was made up of only their supporters.
In actuality, the country would be made up of the royal family Adam’s and Savy’s. Most of them are Communists, but they are the millionaire type, earning great wealth off the lard of national assets.
After that, there are the Faure’s, and Herminie’s who have become administrators. Beyond that, is a mass of bakka drinkers, and dust kicking dancers who shake their ass at anything red, with a poor level of productivity and a high level of social welfare dependency.
To put it nicely, the country would seize if the opposition are excluded from the Seychelles population.
Change State of Mind on June 18th
By the time June 18th, the National Day of the 3rd Republic rolls around, it is evident to the President and the Cabinet, that they cannot face the challenges of National Bankruptcy, without the whole 100% of the population supporting program cuts, and efforts to increase national productivity.
By June 18th, it is apparent, each year, the Communists come down from their clouds of June 5th, and we start to witness the transformation of their multiple mental disorder as they appeal for reconciliation with the Nation.
Before June 18th, they embarrassingly send out songs on the radio to tell the people subliminally to : “Koste”, or “Unite”, or even “put your problems and national failures in a corner and forget about them” (Chicco- nice jingle but advise that can come only from a fool).
June 18th, A Cover Up For Failure
Our National Day has become a major effort to cover up our innate failures under the Communists. The parade is the same Communist parade show you would see in North Korea or Ukraine every year. The goose step is the same that Hitler used to march upon Europe in WWII.
Since we do not have enough soldiers anymore to make a parade, they toss in children into the march, Police, Fire Brigade, and some visiting military personnel that are in port from different countries.
This seems to cover up the failings of the defense forces well. Cars are washed and polished, and the President has a group of side cars to escort him alone. His wife has to take another vehicle to the parade. IMF should look into this highly autocratic expense and practice.
The side cars were donated from Morocco and these units could have been consigned to the Police, where they are badly needed, but they stay in an air conditioned garage all year long instead; another sign of failing, but this time it is the Police of their duties to reduce crime and increase patrols.
The Autocrat Speaks
This year, James Michel came out of his shell. With a divided opposition against him, and a faltering lead opposition not even threatening his bad ideas, even remotely, he was 100% himself.
It is in being himself that he allows us to DNA his autocrat style.
Michel called for another opposition, and not the one that exist now, the inference, being, he will replace the opposition. One does not get more autocratic then that, but he did. No leader in a democratic country can choose an opposition. That is a sham democracy, as Seychelles has become under Michel. It has come from his own mouth, not mine.
Michel set out an elaborate snakes and ladder of conditions the opposition must meet for him to engage in discussion with them. That is very autocratic. In which democracy does a leader set out conditions for discussions? Dialogue does not have conditions set to it? Who is Michel to set conditions? Is he some kind of super Citizen? I suppose in his own mind, he is.
Michel said again, he will destroy Xenophobic ideas in Seychelles once and for all. This is highly autocratic in that he is overtly restricting the free flow of ideas and information in the society, a violation of the Human Rights Charter of the Seychelles Constitution, on National Day.
Michel is not much of a scholar, and seems to misunderstand the opposition’s ideas on foreigners in Seychelles . It is not being foreigner in Seychelles that the opposition opposes, it is the selling of passports and the selling of citizenship, which has been prolific under his autocrat rule that we find highly offensive and will never accept.
Michel selling our passport illegally to the likes of fugitive Krecjir and other criminals
So Michel not being a very good scholar, should be informed and be put on notice, ideas cannot be killed! That means, you cannot kill “Sesel Pou Seselwa”! You cannot shoot it. It is invincible and bullet proof. So put your AK-47 away.
Similarly, you will be delighted to learn, that you cannot jail “Sesel Pou Seselwa”, by jailing a political leader. Did you not follow the South African Revolution and Nelson Mandela, Walter Susule story at University of Seychelles ? If you did, it would have saved you a moment of intellectual self inflicted humiliation. I noticed the President of Tanzania was laughing throughout the speech, he must have found something very funny indeed.
After June 18th National Day
Conveniently, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will be back after June 18th National Day. After the side cars and luxury sedans and soldiers all put on a show to empower James Michel, the real boss will be back in town, calling the shots, under Parti le Pep: IMF.
No Water For Indian Ocean Games
In his June 18th National Day speech, James Michel called for a victory for Seychelles at the Indian Ocean Games to be hosted by Seychelles, herself. I salute all the players, and wish them luck. But this year we have a slight problem, we seem to not have enough water for residents, and the arrival of IOG teams will coincide with the Seychelles tourism peak season.
Where will we get water for everyone, Mr. Michel?
It seems that while you were giving talks around the World on “global warming”, and “Sea Level Rise Foundation” as you rightly profess, you forgot in derelict fashion, one little detail at home: no provision for sufficient water for the people, and 85% leakage of pipes, which has nothing to do with global warming and nothing to do with the rise of sea levels!
End Game of National Personality Disorder
So for 11 months, Michel will say “Koste”, “Unitie”, “Leve Debourye”. Then next year, around June 5th, we will hear it all over again, “Se Nou Ki Lepep”…..Le Pep se Nou”!
Now, if you think you will propel a micro island state out of national BANKRUPTCY with this type of split national personality disorder, you may be flying over the Cuckoo’s nest before your next IMF extended facility is extended to your government.
I suggest you seriously consider seeking medical attention to resolve these conflicting messages you are sending out to the people. You are confusing them and sending the potentially productive energy of a people, back into the barrel of bakka tubs for Five (5) more years!
Remember one thing Michel, before June 5th, 1977, it was Seychellois that built State House, it was Seychellois masons that built Liberty House, where the Ministry of Finance sits, it was Seychellois that built the Catholic Mission. We were waking up and hustling ( Leve Debouye) long before you pulled guns on us and imposed Communism on us as a people.
But I know, to Communists, it all makes sense…..so the results will not differ anytime now or in the near future. So bring on the IMF and drop the devaluation on our heads again!

The latest is that SNP has come up with a shortlist of candidates for the leadership: Ferrari, Nicholas Prea, Sylvest Radegonde & Jose Souyave. It is believed that others such as Marc Hoareau would be added before the party convention in September. Radegonde is already in the country campaigning. He was seen in the catholic procession in Victoria yesterday. A little bit of divine intervention would not hurt, especially as he prepares to face the formidable Ferrari. Ramkalawan's choice is Ferrari. With Ferrari as leader, James Michel better "tat son delo".
No single group of men and women have done more harm to our country than the various shameful SPPF cabals of ministers since 1977. They are men and women led by the nose by Albert Rene, some totally lacking in intelligence, others lacking in propriety, not to mention potential murderers.
I wish to pick on the present motley crew, one by one and send a fear down their spine. I do not like them. Never have. Never will. It is hard to know where to start but Vincent Meriton is a good place to start. Misfits or miscreants like Adam and Athanasius will come later.
Who is Vincent Meriton, you might well ask ? He is hardly known outside his household and for good reasons. He is in fact the Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports. Community Development, my foot. These District Administrators are the scourge of society. Since Belmont finally took the advice that almost everyone was giving him and bailed out, Meriton went through the turnstile and became the Designated Minister. This means that should our wish come true and Michel gets run over by the proverbial bus, Meriton will become the Vice President. Long live Michel, then. Until the next presidential elections.
Meriton has been on our tv screens a lot lately talking about the upcoming games. But with a bland personality like his, no one really notices him. He has the personality of a gunny sack. Zonm Lib has more oomph than he does. At least that makes him less irritating than the one who thinks he is the tv test card when he is not calling himself President.
Watching the pliant Meriton give an interview to SBC the other day, I was struck by how effeminate he came across. He must be the most effeminate minister in the cabinet.
Meriton lost his status as the cabinet pin-up when whippersnapper Jean Paul Adam joined the cabinet in his father's footsteps. I doubt whether the consolation prize of the post of Designated Minister made up for it.
It might seem unfair to pick on Meriton when the rest are no better. But like I said I had to start somewhere. He got off lightly.
We will get shot of them one day !
Christopher you're so right!
Michel is now where Albert Rene was at this age: ARROGANT. In his twilight years (despite picking up a wife half his age) and having won his "decisive victory" without the help of Per Fondater, you would have expected the man to mellow and be more conciliatory. Instead he wants to pick a fight with everyone. Lager i pe rode, lager ya gannyen!!!!He won't even know what happened to the few strands of dyed hair left on his ovel-shapped skull.
I must admit, i do not agree with everything Gill says, but i must say, he has a way of exposing PL like no one else in the opposition.
SNP should be working with people like Gill. There are not many out there, and he seems to be doing what SNP should have been doing a long time ago instead of in fighting to destroy themselves.
Keep up the excellent work gilly boy. It is really appreciated.

Reply to Pissed, aka Mata Hari Ferrari-
I can sense your rage in your last comment.
Madam Mata Hari- I am not Vox. Vox has been contributing valuable ideas and comments for some time.
I understand you do not see that since you have been following the blog here and there, from time to time.
Secondly, I am not Jeanne D'arc either, as your past comments insinuated that I am Jeanne D'arc.
Please try to keep your comments worthy of intellectual debate.
When you digress and lose any sense of promoting any ideas, and venture in personality attacks, you hurt all of us, and all of our country.
Remember, the world reads the blogs.
Recently, visits have skyrocketed to 9000 and close to 10,000 a week.
Comments have breached 550 and sometimes 400 or 350 a week.
People are concerned over the situation in Seychelles, and they are taking it seriously.
You should consider, doing the same.
Start by using your name so your corage corresponds with the astute intellect you profess.

P.S. You can call me anything you like, but at least, I use my name.
But of course you do...when you are not using Jeanne D'arc...or Vox...or Anonymous...hope we don't have to call you Adolf soon!
I regret that this blog is too oten used to trade insults instead of proposing and debating ideas. The pressing issue before us today is what next for the opposition. And I mean opposition in the widest sense of the word. That opposition need to join forces and speak with one voice on important issues is evident.Beyond that, we need to chart the way forward: do we opt for a radical approach viv a vis Michel & Lepep or do we cooperate with them to push our agenda forward? What sort of leader we need to take us forward will be clearer once we would have answered these questions. Let's stop making assumptions, jumping to conclusions and taking part in rumour-mongering.
It's clear that there are people using this blog to create confusion, start rumours and sow division. And some of us are happy to fall into the trap and jump on the band-waggon.No wonder why James Michel continues to ***** each time!!!!!!
By the way Chris why do you fear this "Mata Hari Ferrari" so much?
...and why "Mata hari"?
Oh!..and remember Chris you have to realise that those tens of thousands of visitors that are visiting your blogg every week can read english...they can read right through the bullshits you come up with under your different pseudos...
Time to come up with a woman candidate to propose....Any takers??

By the way where is Jeanne D'arc?
Sik leave? ...and Vox is covering for her?
Lead or follow. If you're doing neither, Get the hell out of the way.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Savy is getting fat by eating to much turtel meat and breaking the law and doing what they want on the island.
What are these problems with the construction of the coast guard that Misel let slip on his Friday walk-about ? Yeah, he thinks he can walk on water and he is trying using a tug boat.
He referred to 'ti retar'. If they were 'ti retar', he would not consider them worth mentioning. They must be big problems with the contractors and have not been resolved.
After watching SBC news this evening, the following are clear:
1.Our President, wanting to sound intelligent and well-read is everyday using words that make no sense to lepep. What does"devlopman dinamik" mean? Is he that desperate to distinguish himself from his Per Fondater who was a man of few and very simple words?
2.Where was the president at the Public Service mass? where was Danny Faure? Where were the public service employees? An empty church.
3.How pathetic Shamlaye & Athanasius sounded and looked on tv. They insult our intelligence in making declarations that the increase in crimes is linked to drugs. Believe Shamlaye that prostitution is linked to drugs and you believe that Sheikh khalifa is catholic. Sad. Because until and unless we are true to ourselves, the problems will never be comprehensively addressed. We shall be forming more committees this time next year.
Indeed, James Michel is the least-educated president in the history of Seychelles and he is the one writing most books, using fancy words which Madanm Sopy will at pains to find in her diksyoner.
Albert Rene was the most educated and intelligent of the lot and the guy, despite his many faults, remained a humble man of few words.
It says a lot.
You are an idiot for you not to believe that crimes are linked to drugs and prostitution.
The way Athanasius talks about drugs is likely to get young people to try it. These ministers are really stupid, just like their followers.
Misel can yell as much as he wants about fleo ki pe ronz nou pei. No one is really listening to him. He lacks credibility. These problems are not new. They are just getting bigger. Parti Lepep has no answer. You don't steal an election and then expect to be taken seriously when you talk about fighting crime. The criminals, the hard-pressed police and the magistrates/judges do not believe them.
The economic reforms implemented to fix the broken economy have given crimes a boost.
Give me madanm Gamatis any day. She will take us into 2020 in style, including showing us the way to Amusement Center.

Then you are a bigger fool to believe that it's the be-all & end-all.
It suits government, as always, to find a scapegoat. Now drugs are the most convenient one. It may be ONE OF THE CAUSES but I disagree that it's THE cause.
The increased use of profanity on the comments section of star is a systematic effort to discredit the blog by the PL.

Thank you Gill for your effort.
Pp would refused to accept the fact that crimes are link to Drugs and prostitution becuase it is the result of Pp failed politics. When thousands of young people many with qualifications cannot find even a job as street sweeper we have a problem PP.Long term unemployment turn our youth to hard drugs as a remedy to their disperation. The government that was supposed to promote their welfare has instead destroyed all their dreams and aspirations.
Pp has long attempt to present marihuana as the cause of our ill society is a farce.Even the UN in a publication acknowledge the fact that marihuana is less dangerous than alcohol, tobacco and support the idea that legalization of GRASS would reduce illegal trafficking thus crimes. The problem of drugs come from the abuse of Hard drugs such as Cocain, heroin Pp not marihuana. My piece of advice to PP,go and look what proffesionals are saying on this subject and stop acting as experts while being completely ignorant on the issue.

Crime and corruption are everywhere, and it BEGAN AT THE VERY TOP, so why blame the rest of the Nation for thinking 'if its good enough for them, its good enough for us'. You reap what you sow!
Becuase communists are never responsible for any wrongdoing, they are the living Gods on earth and thus concider themselves as to be holy and want us to worship them, just as Karl Max.lenin,Castros,Kim ,Stalin,Rene;Michel and other thugs.
Jeanne DÂrc
The Politicians around the world have fail to combat drugs problems. How can a idiot like Michel and co solve drugs proplem and alcholic proplems on he island? They just dont know how to do solve problems.
Burn those babylon.
POLICE SELLING HEROIN ON PRASLIN.SOON I WILL TRY TO CATCH THEM ON MY CAMERA FOR THE PROVE AND I WILL POST IT ON YOU TUBE.
No water for Indian ocean game! Tell Michel and his mangole PP supporters to go and remove water under those caves on Mahe and on Praslin to get water.Making development with luxus hotels but not thinking what they need first,Michel coconut head.
Burn those babylon.
Why PP took so long to catch this Escobar at Les Manmemell a small island like Seychelles!Because his a PP family and he is dealing for some one that involed in Politic. Even his name Seychelles Nation can not wriet in their articel from 22.06.2011.
We need to get the bishops together and while we're at it get some cardinals from the Vatican to come together and pray for Seychelles. We are drowning in shit: no water, high rate of prostitution, crime, bull-shitters. James Michel has always told us that he wants the world to notice us. Indeed they are-and in a way he never thought possible. Let him take a ride in the new tug whilst Rome burns. Unless he is planning on setting up some more committees "to discuss" problems that he was elected to solve? Viv devlopman dinamik anba nou prezidan dinamik e entelizan!!!!!
How Seychelles has got this far without James Michel will remain a mystery to me.Albert Rene was nothing next to him. Viv nou prezidan!
What's the name of the escobar ?
In all this, we have not yet addressed the question of the way forward for the opposition. Boycott or not? I say boycott all the way.Let Michel stew in the shit that he himself created. As he is the super president with a "convincing win", it should not be difficult for him.
Give us a break. How can that fool Michel catch any drug dealers when his son was caught with drugs in Singapore and Francis Changleng's son was caught red handed at the Seychelles airport importing drugs and was released right away and not even charged?
Soon the Parti Lepep will start feeling the pain when their own sons and daughters start to inject themselves to death or turn to prostitution or stealing to feed their drug habits. We will see then if that fool Michel is around to help them. Even Albert gave up when Ella was smoking her joints and probably joined her together with Sarah's brother Kamal for a sheesha session at Barbarons. Sheik Kalifa probably joined in and brought some opium just to spice things up.
I agree there should be total boycott.SNP should not return to the assembly nor take part in elections again until there are electoral reforms. Hang in there guys.
The drugs problems, prostitution, etc started on James Michel's watch. SNP has never been in power. Cut the bullshit. Do your mea culpa and get on with the job.
BOYCOTT BOYCOTT BOYCOTT!
Unlike other countries with many boarders whereby drugs can be imported by many means in Seychelles drugs come in in two ways namely by sea or by air,due to this fact our governemnt should be able to deal with this problem more effectively than other countries. Moreover, due to our seize and small population i do not see any reason or excuse why Pp cannot deal with the problem. The only explaination is that the fact that all those escobars are members or supporters of PP or Pp family members.
Jeanne DÂrc
What is the name of the escobar?Ask Michel when he took office he told us he knows them all ,and i guess he knows them all becuase they are Pp cronies.

Guys if you've not realised that all this hype about drugs, prostitution, crimes, is just that -hype. Michel wants to give the impression that he's doing something. What better way than creating a committee. A sure way to ensure that NOTHING gets done. Then announce more "police reforms". The same "reforms" that have been going on in that small police force of ours for the last 7 years that Michel has been president.Have you noticed that we've never been explained - and nobody has ever asked what these "reforms are and how long they're going to take. He also wants an "efficient" public service. A joke because "efficiency" and Mohamed Afif, Jessie Esparon do not go together. Michel better stop repeating the same crap year in and year out and somehow expect a different result.

Given that this Blog space is titled "Seychelles Truth Accountabiity Reality" - no where have we seen a discussion about the scandalous situation - both the politicians and the government towards LUNGOS proposed new Building Project which ought to have been started one year ago. Why will not anybody come forward and support their situation, they have been given a piece of Land by the government, they need money for the building and running it and construction. The proposed finance formula crashed - failed badly and these were very Major/big players. The builders are still available. LUNGOS have done very important work in rebuilding that Nation, building it, managing it and counter checking the government and indeed the many establishments and institutions excess. There are very serious challenges confronting us - given those two new Tugs and the statement by the government.
LUNGOS need to operate form a different environment and dynamic to help, support the trend of issues and unbalance approaches.
Go to the USA, Europe, Australia - the people and its citizens support and rally to bodies like/such as LUNGOS because they represent true national values which have been tried and tested in comparison to the cheap politics of the day. The world is reading your blog, watching and asking questions.
On the matter of LUNGOS-
I totally agee with the blogger.
LUNGOS has serious issues. It is a grouping of national NGO's but it is financed by the Government of Seychelles.
It is a total joke and needs to be reassessed.
In situations like Seychelles, where Freedom is hidden under the carpet and safe guarded by a Communist regime, LUNGOS cannot afford to not be independent financially from the Government of the day.
It must not rely on government funding. It must regroup.
The world is watching. The Commonwealth delegation had a very intelligent no bones madam in its delegation from Nigeria, and she pointed this item out to Chairman of LUNGOS. She drove it home and it was embarassing to listen to it . Basically after 17 years, even our NGO sysyems are one party state.

Today in Seychelles (I think it should be called Yellow in Seychelles or YIS) showed what a coward it is last Saturday. It is almost as if they know the government has drawn a line which a free press should not cross, unless it wants some of the treatment that Robert Mugabe dishes out to the independent press in Zimbabwe. With Today's overt and blatant self-censorship, it can expect a cozy relationship with Parti Lepep.
With a scandalous photo of the government wasting water, as water bowsers go up and down , Today decided to accompany the photo with a scientific article on the scarcity of water. It effectively regurgitated the selective scientific data that Michel uses for his government's failure to sort out the water problems and not to build dams to collect rainfall.
It was all mumbo jumbo, comparing water with diamond and extracts from Economics for Dummies.
Today was expected to take the government to task for broken equipment being used to carry water and losing all of it in the process. We saw how broken machinery allowed Le Corsaire Restaurant to burn down, when the fire brigade's water pumps failed to work, despite the abundant sea water nearby.
Instead Today cowardly decided to exonerate government policies and incompetence and appeared to put the blame on the truck driver. Michel too has a habit of blaming government employees.
Today must stop this brand of yellow journalism. When everything is breaking down, you have to blame the Parti Lepep government in plain language. Stop beating about the bush.
Today=Nation=Rising Sun=The People. And we ask where is the opposition? How can anyone effectively oppose if all the forces in this country play against him?
It's clear as day that we cannot even depend on the "free" press to do its work effectively. There is no other way, the opposition, especially SNP should radicalise. There should be no compromise on anything. This is a fight that only they can lead otherwise we're going to slide back to one-party state with James Michel doing what he wants and everyone else clapping away like retarded seals.
Sov nou pei!
Let's take a leaf out of the arab spring.
It is good to see Narcissus issuing an STB press release about someone else. Except that this time it is a press release on a communique from James Mancham on James Mancham. And you wonder why morality has gone down in this country.
In Nation (where else?), Mancham bigs up his peace award by telling us who the other 14people are. His list had 13 only. Has someone refused to accept his award ? As for the 13, never heard of any of them. I bet they have never heard of James Mancham either. Mancham is telling us that his peace reconciliation work is much appreciated by Gusi and not us. The reverse is true. We know Mancham. Gusi does not.
Gusi diminishes the value of these peace awards because it failed to do proper research on James Mancham.
Gill, your criticism of Today and the free press is biased. You cannot compare Today to the Nation, Rising Sun or People.
If you kept up with the media in Seychelles you would know that People newspaper this week attacked Today, going as far as stating that Today is the new SNP mouthpiece and has replaced Regar and that Today's editor Nichole Tirant is running for the Assembly. They also stated that Marc Hoareau has taken over the SNP party already and that Roger Mancienne is writing for Today. This is nothing but a load of BS and I personally hope that Today, Tirant, Mancienne and Hoarea all sue that rag for millions.
Do not forget that an independent newspaper has to balance the news and report both sides of the story. Which newspaper other than Today does that? Regar? Weekly? People? Nation? Come on, they are all political affiliated newspapers and it is easy for them to write news favouring their candidates or their party. One sided reporting that is. Nation covers everything about the Government and of course has at least 3 or 4 pictures of Michel everyday, glorifying their leader, as does People. Regar and Weekly portray their candidates and parties in good light too while lambasting the Party Lepep leaders and their policies. Even the Star blog is biased and always attacks the current government but never says anything when something goes well.
I am an avid reader of Today and have stopped buying the Nation as my personal way of boycotting the fraudulent Michel and Gappy elections plus the lack of reforms. I do agree that Today is not perfect and lacks some teeth so to speak, but as I recall, it was Today who published the story of the fire at your home. It was Today who gave Viral Dhanjee some coverage and it was Today who broke the story about Prince William and Kate in Seychelles. And after publishing an interview with Michel a couple of months ago, Today followed through with an exclusive interview with Ramkalawan a couple of weeks ago. The election coverage and graphics in Today were also fair and showed statistics not published by Nation. Also, Today covered the Corsaire fire on their front page and said the fire brigade equipment was not functioning. Did you read anything in the Nation?
Thus I believe that with time, Today will finds its own legs and become the best paper in Seychelles. I also hope they remain somewhere in the middle with their reporting and not give in to any pressure from either side.
It is not easy to be an independent newspaper in Seychelles, the same way that it will not be easy to operate an independent TV station. After all, most of the news is about the Government and the people in Government. Newspapers, radio and tv stations all depend on advertising to survive. Where do you think Nation would be today without the adverts from the Government sectors, or the die-hard Party Lepep clan who place adverts so that they can remain in the good books of the Party? Can SBC-TV, Radio and even Nation operate without Government subsidies and also in Government buildings where they pay no rent? I am sure that Regar, Weekly and Today are paying rent and are also being subsidized by their owners otherwise they would not be able to operate properly.
So Gill, before you criticise and state that there is no free press in Seychelles, think before you write. The media may not be as free as we want it to be, but at least the journalists are not being shot or thrown in jail like in the old Albert Rene days.
So let us all fight for a better media and continue to encourage companies like Today to flourish while we fight to get new radio stations with low license fees. Also we should boycott SBC and the Nation and ask the Government to sell those institutions that promote the Party Lepep propaganda. As long as these institutions exist, Michel and Party Lepep will make use of them to spread their lies and win elections.
The reason our country is in such a dire strait today is becuase of man's primitive desire to dominate other by improverishing them and subjugating them. This must stop. The time is now for the people to determine whether they wish simply to condemn pp autocratic regime or wish to end the oppression and replace it with a sytem of greater freedom, democracy and justice.i want those maasive winds of change of people^revolution now blowing across the skies of other countries and people to quickly reach the skies, mountains, hills of our country,as well as shaking the houases ,the living roooms, sleeping rooms of the corrupt and coldblooded tyrant and his thugs. It is time to take our country back from Pp thugs and foreign collaborators now.We need a people revolution now.
Jeanne DÂrc
National radio and tv is not for sale. They belong to the people,it is their tax payers money being used to pay for their operations, thus we should not be asking Pp to sell what belongs to the people but rather force Pp to give the people access to their assets.
Jeanne DÂrc
Savings Bank also belongs to the people of Seychelles, but it is up for sale. Sacos was sold to Mauritians not long ago. St. Anne also belonged to the people of Seychelles but was sold to Francis Savy for SR 1. So was the hill at La Misere which now belongs to Kalifa. So may Savy, Kalifa or Dugasse will buy SBC and save us all from the miseries of our own government. And while we are up for sale, they might as well take Nouvobanq and Central Bank, and all the prostitutes that are for sale in town every night.
It was not Gill who wrote the piece on Today.
Gill floor crosser where is the paper u were going to launch last year? We r waiting for this master piece or maybe u can buy out regar for cheap. All for sale now.
I see a lot of sense in the earlier blogger's expose on Today's line of journalism. I agree that, in time, it'll find its feet and be the independent newspaper we all crave for. Do we have time to wait for this? Not sure. Every day that passes with an absent opposition, without an incisive media is a day gained for the ruling clique to entrench themselves. Yesterday it was Albert Rene, today it's James Michel, tomorrow it'll be Danny Faure. Same shit, different day.
It's clear today that we cannot depend on anybody but ourselves for our independence and freedom. Commonwealth, UN,EU, SADC, COMESA,AU, couldn't give a rat's ass about how we are faring. We need to take matters into our own hand and fight for our freedom. And the time is now.
I am not saying that Today should be biased. I am saying it should be independent, if that's what it wants to be. Its claim to independence is compromised when it pulls its punches when it comes to reporting government failures. Its Saturday front page was a good example.
Today may wish to investigate reports that Khalifa and company has been given one of our islands on a platter. Another jewel in our crown given away for two electricity generators and a desalination plant? It is important for this story to be investigated and if true exposed. Will it make any difference to the buffoons who were wriggling their bottoms in the dust on Freedom square last month, unlikely. But let the 20,000 -odd people who refused to be bought know that their country continues to be happily given away to foreigners. Let them know that to tell James Michel to stop amounts to "Zenofobi".
Why should we ask Today newspaper to assume the role of the opposition in the country? Whilst I hope that the paper will continue to do its work as "independently" as it can, our opposition, if there's still one, ought to do its work. Its work today is to show James Michel that he is not lord and master of our country. The arrogant attitude he's suddenly adopted, as evidenced by his speech on the national day, has to be stopped or at least matched with the same arrogance. The only person able to do this today is Wavel Ramkalawan. Afterall, he has the support of almost half the voting population of this country. Ramkalawan should not give up the leadership just yet.He would be giving James michel too easy a ride.
This is not work that Ramkalawan can do or be left to do alone. We should come out from behind our computers and lend a hand.
James Michel's worst nightmare is that SNP does not go for a new leader and decides to stick with Ramkalawan for the next 5 years.
Let him wake up at night sweating. Let his eyes puff some more.
Ramkalawan and SNP have got nothing to lose.
Freedom for Seychelles!

I read the water article in Today and did not find it at all supportive of Party Lepep. Water is a scarce resource the world over and I have to assume that Today was trying to make Seychellois more conscious and aware of its value. Having a shower today is a luxury and we all need to be concerned, regardless of whether Michel and Rene failed us by not building proper water dams and storage facilities.
But maybe Today was too smart for the blogger who only sees politics in everything, and this is exactly what is wrong with out country TODAY; no pun intended here. We have become so politicised that one cannot say anything without someone else looking at it in a political context. For God's sake, we all know that Michel is an idiot and stole the elections by buying voters with the millions from his friends like Khalifa and Ramados. We all know that Party lepep will continue to use politics to instill fear in its supporters, and that corruption and drug use are not going away anytime soon. We know that houses and government assets will be used to please the reds. We also know that SBC and the state media like the Nation and political rags like People will continue to couyonne the other fools in the red camp, and that not even Wavel, Gill, Volcere, Hoareau, Boulle, Radegonde or anyone else can convince these couyons to change their stance and vote for change. We are simply doomed and have to accept that Albert Rene has indoctrinated the masses well and that the only hope is they all die from drug use or baka and diabetes before we can see the light.
In the meantime, I would urge everyone to show our strength by boycotting the state media and all other businesses that patronize the red party. Our money is ours to spend and we the people who voted for the opposition parties have the purchasing power in Seychelles. So instead of going to Ramados's Pirates Arms or Siva's Wharf, buy a beer somewhere else. Instead of buying a Daihatsu from Valabji, buy a Hyundai, Honda or Kia from someone else. Instead of buying a Nation, buy a Today or a Seychelles Weekly. Instead of buying insurnace from Dolor Ernesta or Charles Decomarmond, buy it directly from the insurance company. Instead of flying Savy's ZilAir, take Helicopter Seychelles or a boat instead.Instead of France Bonte as a lawyer, use someone else. Instead of printing at Ramados' Printec, use someone else. Instead of patronizing Apex which belongs to Mukesh and East Indies which belongs to Francis Savy, choose ISPC or Cave a Vin. Boycott the Adam family business as well as Dugasse, Changleng and all those other thieves who have stolen from the coffers of the people. Meanwhile, give your business to people in the opposition that you know such as Bernard Sullivan, Marc Hoareau, Ferrari, Dingwall, Volcere, Radley Weber, and the many others who are staunch opposition and who cannot be bought by the dirty red money.
Economic boycott is an excellent tool to fight against Party Lepep and it is time to make them suffer.
BOYCOTT! BOYCOTT! BOYCOTT!
Was this really an article about the supply and demand of water and the cost of economic goods ? Pull the other one. It was a cowardly way to publish the photo of PUC wasting water, while trying to avoid the political issues raised by the photo. The photo told one story, but the article told a completely different story.
Re Today article. That sort of explanation why we have run out of water is what we get from SBC on a regular basis. All water-related international news on SBC are designed to "explain" that our water woes are not unusual and are an international phenomenon, just like the economic crisis. We expect better from Today. If Today wants to educate us, it should provide a counter balance to the propaganda we get from state media, so that we can have a balanced view of these things -- at least those who rely on SBC and Today for these things. That sort of pussyfooting journalism will get Today in boiling hot water.
Having destroyed the judiciary over 34 years, Michel had the gall to tell us that the judicial system has failed. Kudos to SBC for seeking the views of the Chief Justice, if not those of the opposition. We now have open warfare in the judicial system, while Michel shows he has absolutely no idea what to do. The Chief Justice is blaming the Police and the Attorney General. Apparently out of hundreds of drugs cases, fewer than 50 were brought before the court. So, Michel was ignorant of the facts when he said that the police were catching criminals and the judiciary were letting them off. Now we have the grotesque situation of Michel blaming the judiciary, the judiciary blaming the Police and the Attorney General, the Police blaming the Attorney General and the judges, and the Attorney General pursuing political activists and locking them up. Political activists have more chances of spending time in jail than drug dealers ! Which reminds me. We gave just received a large donation of books from the Chinese government.
The Chief Justice also put the blame squarely on Michel and Rene. He has asked for more judges. PL can't find enough PL activists with basic intelligence to make them judges. CJ is also asking for the judiciary's own budget to secure its independence from Michel. Michel is refusing to give the judiciary its own budget, i.e its independence. CJ probably saw more threats to the judiciary's independence in Michel's speech. He is right. Michel was trying to intimidate the judiciary even more. He has no wish to see a competent and independent judiciary. He wants court judgments dictated from State House.
Reply to Critic on Gill for making a critic on Today paper.
I did not say anything on this blog about TODAY.
I like it. It is an independent voice and it is needed.
It could do with an Editorial, but that is my own opinion. I am sure the owners of Seychelles Today, have their idea of what they are doing, and I respect that very much.
Without today, Viral Dhanjee case would be dead, MSR case dead, call for Boycott dead , attack of arson on my garage unknown to non internet users, so I appreciate Today.
If anyone wants a more vocal paper, support SESELWA to come off the press . We are 30 days away, if we can get a licence.
Stop blaming me for all your problems, because I make myself available to take un thoughtful hits. I have been digging a water well all day, trying to capture some water to wash towels for guests . We have gone down deep into a rock formation to find water. Now we are pumping 15000 litres a day, doing PUC's job.

Reply to Floor Crosser from SNP leadership-
Every time you open your mouth a gang on your executive committee crosses the floor. I would be a little more careful, especially now that it has come to light that we have been voting for a Paid Informant sell out in the opposition all these years to become President.
The Vice President from SNP before Prea, was a notary that sold Felicite Island for Sr. 1.00.
The Secretary General- Ferrari, was a coup soldier that stole our Freedom and if PL was not in power he would be on trail for treason and conspiracy to murder on June 5th, 1977. No statute of limitations on Murder Jean Francois, applies to conspiracy to murder aswell.
His sister Pauline works for Michel, so she crossed the floor. She designed Zomn Lib and is proud of it.
Their father Maxime was a Minister in Rene's government that aqcuired my families business and told us to sell fish to SMB for half the price we were buying them from fishermen.
Georges, your lawyer, is Khalifa's lawyer. That crosses a floor.
Pathetic!
Inspite of yourselves, please BOYCOTT the National Assembly and upcoming elections.
Call for reform in the laws and right of all Seychellois to vote.
Failing that, stay home.
Remember SNP, the speck on my eye is nothing compared to the plank that covers both your eyes.

If it was just an article of esoteric interest about water, then it was a poor choice for a front page article of propaganda value to PL. With so many social issues in the country and the need for investigative journalism to highlight these problems, it is hard to understand that Today finds it difficult to lead with an interesting expose.
You keep repeating these things. But where would Albert Rene be today without support from your Peter Gill ?
Gill who burnt your garage?
Ferrari-
My step father supported Independence, like many Seychellois, hence his affiliation with SPUP. He was rightfully proud to fight for Independence.
SPPF betrayed Independence for all Seychellois, and a nation was born out of division.Killings took place, and he voiced his opinion openly against the killing of Seychelles, while Ferrari was morally burying the bodies in hopes of one day becoming a President after Rene.
That is not much different then what is happening in SNP today.
But the day Jean Francois Ferrari leads SNP, it will be the day a single party drops dead, faster then DP. In fact, DP might be back.
Peter Gill's business was aqcuired by Dr. Ferrari, he was hunted down by Rene's thugs, and left the country to not face death. Ask Dr. Ferrari, he will give you all the details. My eldest Brother Peter Jr. took him out of Seychelles against his will one day following a break in into his house, by Rene soldiers.
He lived a life in exile, died of Cancer, and his last will was that his ashes be spread at the lighthouse entering Port Victoria. His wish was granted last year.
Why the lighthouse, because for every Seychellois that left Seychelles, to go overseas, before the airport, they had to pass by the light house, to leave safely, and to return, we all had to pass by the light house, and when we do, .......it means we are home.
From this rock, we will not be moved!

Get your own biblical lines donc e arey bez highjack sa ki pou ou kamarad....
Talking about Chritians Gill, s'il vous plait mon vieux aret koz komsi ou ki ti entrodir Christianity on these island bougla...can't you see that everytime you start about Christians this, Christians that, you are a Christian fighting the mulahs blah, blah, blah! All we do is laugh at you! Sa passport Ameriken ki pe ran ou kouyon...(proof you that are fabrike!)
Seychelles' first encounter with Christianity was when Vasco da Gamma, a Roman catholic discovered the islands. A few hundred years laterour French ancesters who were Roman catolics settled here, they brought your Asian ancestors from Afghanistan and China and converted them as well!
Now you, a fabrike with a mixture of Muslim, Taoism and Buddhism who landed on our shores 20 odd years ago wants to be more Christian and Rasin than the rest of us! Zot o fout mwan lape s'il vous plait e bez go back to whence you came!
Now can we get back to the serious issues: water, judiciary, crime, drugs, prostituiton, democracy. That Gill, Ferrari, Ramkalawan or whoever was SPPF before joining the opposition is immaterial. They no longer felt they could support the party and moved on.How many catholic priests have decided they no longer felt they could continue with their vocation and opted out. Does this make them leass catholic or christian? Let's focus guys. Our commom enemy is James Michel and his bunch of wankers and ass-wriggling, baka drinkers in Lepep.
I see that with sunset some of us are bent again on insults.
James Michel must be enjoying this.......

Your comments are incoherent, you sound very reactive, as if I have offended your Father.
It is a shame that the entire Ferrari clan lives in the world of fake profiles to participate in political debates in Seychelles in 2011.
I wonder what happened between 1977-2011 that has sent Ferrari's into the world of Fake Profiles, and Anonymous comments. I would not expect that from the mighty Ferrari.

Have you considered that you might be wrong about fake profile allegations ? You obviously have no idea who is pulling you apart mentally and politically ?
It can't be denied that some people in Today have associations with the opposition. They also want to produce an independent newspaper. My concern is the SELF-CENSORSHIP that they have imposed on themselves and that is affecting their claim to independence from government influence.
The People criticised Today based on these associations with the opposition. It produced no evidence of bias against the government. They are used to looking at the country through rose-tinted glasses and find it outrageous that others do not follow suit.
In his mild, polite diplomatic way, the Chief Justice tonight told James Michel: " Shut your trap you ignorant buffoon". The speech writer will no doubt now be hung by his short and curlies, but James Michel ought to read whatever rubbish he's given before he goes and opens his big mouth. This is a clear case where he's AGAIN got it wrong. A president of a country the size of a little town in France who has no clue what is going on. It's clear that he's wanted to take the populist route instead of addressing the real issues. The real issue today is that our judiciary is under-funded. Can James michel ask his VP danny Faure and his head of Public Service- Mohamed Afif why it's taken over a year for them to make and give a decision on the Chief justice's proposal to have an independent funding for the judiciary? As I have said before, efficiency and Mohamed Afif do not go together and James michel better keep his trap shut until he's got his facts right.
The chinese ambassador is rubbing his hands with glee. More books on China for the national library. Not a dozen but 600!!!!!Soon Khalifa will follow suit. we need to be educated on this great leader and his country. He'll probably want a whole library assigned for this.
And we think this is a great coup!
Today must surely be independent since they hired some ex Nation reporters who are definitely Party Lepep supporters. And one of its lead reporters Marie Antoinette Laurence comes from Rising Sun and before that The People newspaper. Now if this well known SPPF sympathiser shows her true colours and starts glorifying Michel in her articles and is not censored by editor Nicole Tirant then we will really know whether Today is independent or not.
The library and books after James Michel would have named 5th June Avenue after him.
Once we get going on Jean Paul Adam, he'll wish the ground would open up and swallow him up.
www.seychellesreality.blogspot.com, the blog of the Seychelles Freedom Party (SFP) has graciously surpassed the 2,000 visits mark in Two (2) weeks. This is an incredible feat of success and I encourage everyone to submit any issues they want exposed on the communist regime in Seychelles and visit the blog.
Reply to "Guys let us focus"- What you say is important . We need to focus. But you also seem to assert in your comment that we have some sort of impossible feat to overcome, which I do not agree with.
Defeating the PL, even with their Sr.250 Million Budget and their use of all state resources, and their rigging of elections can be done and should have been done in the last elections. There is no good reason why it was not done.
Any legitimate serious opposition would have been united to face this regime. This is the cause of defeat.
Division in the opposition has been an SNP policy. No one else. Once this dye of division was cast, Boulle put his best foot forward, Volcere, pushed on, I did what I had to do, in spite of SNP's foolish ideas.
Because the politics of division are so foolish, and SNP is made up of some intelligent people, I could only conclude that this policy is a policy to meet a hidden agenda to be No.2 forever.SNP does not want to win.
This exposes a sell out strategy.
Behind every agenda, there is a strategy, and SNP as I said is not made up of fools.
That is why the opposition lost.
Edison invented the light bulb and changed the way the world read forever, until now. You need to understand that one idea, from one person can change things, this is where you are dead wrong in your assertions.
One Boulle can change things just as one Volcere, or one Gill can. This is the power of God in men, that makes us different from ants and bugs.
Unfortunately, this round, many tossed their chip on Ramkalawan and he was pushing the division envelope across the table, until the results were being read.
The opposition needs to grow up. It needs to put the welbeing of our country and children, before the well being of politicians.
This is a tall order, from where we stand today.
But we must remember, sometimes, it is when someone has their back against a wall that the best decisions are made, not when they are comfortable and see no end in sight to the comfort.
What must be done today-
We must BOYCOTT all elections until the political playing field in levelled. It is 17 years now and no fundamental changes have been imlpemented to call Seychelles a Freedom respecting country. In fact we are less free under Michel then we were in 1993. Because in 1993, we had hope for freedom.
SNP must stop writing Herminie asking permission to be absent from the National Assembly. They must BOYCOTT the sessions until the electoral laws are acceptable, and overseas voters have the right to vote, the voters list re-examined by independent commission. I would even ask that the next elections include overseas oversighting and administration, since it is clear, elections are being rigged in Seychelles. UN can do that.
The needed action of the hour is a BOYCOTT. If SNP cannot hold to this, they must resign as an opposition. While the Boycott is ongoing the opposition must also hold a conference to unite and settle all scores internally and bury them. However, SNP, the main culprit, will have to learn that their slick attitude of duplicity in words and action will not work in a transparent world. Politics is changing fast today. You have to adjust your sails.
What Rene taught everyone in Seychelles, will not be good enough.
Just a little friendly advise.

PISSEDOFF,
We proud of being christian as you said it was brought to the island by the first settlers who were not Vasco Da Gamma(Portugese)as you mention but by the French. This is our religion and it is more than only a religion it is also source of our civilization ,culture, tradition are based. We believe that human dignity is not derived from Pp regime but from GOD.Obviously the teaching that man^s purpose is to honor God is vastly more exalted than the totalitarian theory that man^s purpose is to live and die for his government.Nazi totalitarianism, for instance, identified and took from the individual^s and state^s which the government concidered inimical to itself-a theory holds by Pp too. Moreover, totalitarianism which is a pseudo-religion,is at the bottm polytheistic. As each nation under totalitarian has its own national god, there might conceivably be as many gods as tere is nations.Totalitarianism breeds only division, desolation among people PISSEDOFF.Manifestly the only rational procedure isto banish it from the world, and permit all men under the GOD of nations and HIS justice to enjoy their dignity as human beings.

Christainity is a founding faith of Seychelles.
It is from where our moral compass is derived.
Our moral compass allows us to live as brothers and sisters.
We accept the right of all bonafide seychellois to choose any religion.
But we will not accept the importation of any faith, with the premeditiated intent on destroying our moral compass - our faith.
Pissed off, like many from her family, go through life without a moral compass. That is why they are always in conflict with themselves.

Chris, you should reconsider blogging at 5am. Your grey cells are clearly not awake at that time. You are now saying PL won because you were left out in the cold. Didn't you call for a boycott ? That clearly failed. 3 opposition candidates in the elections and one failed politician calling for a boycott made no difference. The people united behind SNP.
Under your Seselwa Unite slogan, you are really praying for disunity, so that some opposition supporters will leave SNP for your party.
SNP Late Bird-
I posted the 5.00 am blog, because I had to wake up early to fetch water. I ran the blog while I was waiting for water to come up from the pumps. I am multi task gifted.
Now I called for a Boycott, that is correct. But what you fail to see, that everyone in Seychelles is begining to see, is that I have been calling for a united opposition for years, and SNP has failed to reply honestly.
As a consequence, as the blog says, you ignored the call for years not just at election time, this caused Boulle to go about his efforts for years, and Volcere carried on for the same.
The strategy of a divided opposition is a failed one. Only SNP promotes this strategy.
It does so to stay No. 2.
I am sincere for the quest for a united opposition. SNP today has many seats in the assembly it otherwise would not have if it ran a campiagn of division in last elections. These victories are dividends of unity. Strengthened unity can only bring greater returns and real change.
Divided, we are all simply allowing the agenda to be No.2, eternally, by SNP survive and PL will remain No.1.
It also shows that SNP is happy to be No. 2. This is a betrayal of the people, hands down.
I suggest you consider waking up a little early aswell each day, sort yourselves out as early.
SFP accepts support from all sides, we do not target SNP, though the fall out is predominately SNP right now. Tomorrow it will be PL, so what, that is what we want is it not?
MSR has shown us that PL will float when given a serious option.
This is why Michel was scared of MSR.

About Jean-Paul Adam - You need another stiff drink before I start.
Further disappointment with Today. They took a picture off the Internet to illustrate their story on diabetes. They have used a picture of a foreign woman wearing a blue top. Lack of imagination or self-censorship again ? There was no shortage of fat arses clad in red and opened wide on Freedom Square on 15 May and of course 5 June.
Chris, can you start flying the independence flag on this site -- to drive Parti Lepep mad.
I enjoy this blog and follow it regularly. I have never taken the time to write any comments on here but after reading the last comments regarding diabetes, I felt compelled to do so.
To the person who said earlier, and I quote:
"Further disappointment with Today. They took a picture off the Internet to illustrate their story on diabetes. They have used a picture of a foreign woman wearing a blue top. Lack of imagination or self-censorship again ? There was no shortage of fat arses clad in red and opened wide on Freedom Square on 15 May and of course 5 June."
My dear friend, you are truly ignorant and while it is not in my nature to insult anyone, I will outdo myself this time around and call you STUPID.
If you were obese, would you like your fat Seychellois "arse" to be on the front page of a newspaper,be it Today, Nation, Regar or Weekly? And is it just Party Lepep supporters who are obese?
I digress however. I am a type-2 diabetic 46-year old woman, and my young daughter who is not fat has to inject herself daily as she is a type-1 diabetic. This is not a joke and she has to live with her condition for the rest of her life. So until you understand diabetes, please refrain from making such stupid remarks.
I for one am glad that the Today newspaper has written about this terrible disease which does not affect only fat people as you have insinuated. If you read the entire story instead of criticising you would note that K.D. Pillay who is the Chairperson of the Seychelles Diabetic Society has rung an alarm bell by stating that 12% of our population are diabetics. Yes, some of them are obese, but many like me are of normal weight, eat a balanced diet and exercise regularly. And we are still diabetic.
So please, try and be sympathetic towards us diabetics and be glad that newspapers like Today are actually doing a community service by using its front page to educate and warn the population of this deadly and debilitating disease.
For people like you who do not understand anything about diabetes, here are a few simple facts:
Diabetes is a chronic condition associated with abnormally high levels of sugar (glucose) in the blood.
Insulin produced by the pancreas lowers blood glucose.
Absence or insufficient production of insulin causes diabetes.
The two types of diabetes are referred to as type 1 (insulin dependent) and type 2 (non-insulin dependent).
Symptoms of diabetes include increased urine output, thirst and hunger as well as fatigue.
I hope that I have shed some more light on this disease. And I would ask the person who wrote these stupid remarks to reflect on his or her words carefully as I am sure someone close in his or her family is diabetic.
Thank you.
As long as we have those carricatural and irresposible opposition leaders to the likes of RAM who refuse s to take responsibilities nothing will really change in this country. The last two decades the opposition has amassed a pretty mixed records. They criticized Pp which is part of an oppostion but never has anything to offer.SNP as the most influence opposition party has no intention of getting to power, all its members are happy in the second role for they can sit in their expensive villas , drive big, smoke cigar ,have a monthly salary and many more perks while doing nothing.A serious opposition should have a programme , policies which would have given the citizen the chance to compare the differences between ruling party failed policies and that propose by the opposition parties .But for strange reason SNp for instance, has never presented any policies since its existance ,its policies is reduced to a manifesto which is presented to the populace very five years when election is near.RAM has become an onimous bird that can be shot by any hunters,he is venerable and an easy target, such person is just not fit to lead a party and unless credible to lead a country.RAM lacks leadership qualities such as integrity and accountability.Leadership in politcal framework requires a focus on long-term good of a country, above and ahead of any short-term persoanl gains.
Seychelles and Seychellois need persons who serves as an example of integrity and loyalty to the people they represent,Someone who can resist the various temptation and lures of plitcal arena, someone with strong character, with both conscience and charisma, someone willing to listen to the needs of common people and to represent them faithfully, someone with the courage to stand and say what needs to be said.An effective opposition leader will have a leadership style that focuses on coalition and building, while an ineffective leadership situation results from a leader who is hustler.
RAM must go and SNP must be dissolved,re-visit their strategy then only they can come again and present themselves to society with a serious programme.
Until this is achieved the Opposition must hold to the boycott, for the boycott is making Michel anf his thugs agitated like monkeies on hot plates.

What I was saying was that if Today wanted to illustrate the story with a picture of a fat arse (which they have done), they could have used a local picture. If the story had appeared in a UK or French paper, they would have used a picture of a local person.
Parti Lepep is responsible for the collapse in health services. Perhaps Today should use picture of Parti Lepep supporters to ram home the point.
On a separate note, by using a picture of a foreigner is not Today blurring the message by telling us this is an issue for people in other countries?
I agree with the lady. Give diabetics a break you insensitive moron and send a picture of your own ass to Today.
While we are on the arse subject. Gill, Rene n Ramkalawan all have fat arses. Joel Morgan has the ugliest ass of all. Michel has a skinny ass but wife Natalie n mistress Bastienne have sexy asses. Glenny n Guy Adam have very fat asses, so does Changleng, Mukesh and the Herminie clan. But the best butt trophies goes to the "happy" Minister Adam and Ambassador Pillay.
Take your complaints to Today which used a picture of a fat arse. I am making a link between a fat arse and PL supporters who were cavorting on Freedom Square on 15 May and 5 June.
The Chief Justice was right to put the blame on the Attorney General and the Commissioner of Police for their incompetence in dealing with crimes, real crimes not political thought crimes. These are both Misel appointees.
The Chief Justice could also have blamed another of Misel's incompetent appointee -- the Electoral Commissioner. Gappy's incompetence has put pressure on the judiciary, with challenges to his decisions in the presidential elections. Supreme Court judges had to leave their work to form the Constitutional Court to hear constitutional challenges. Judges say they are already overloaded with work. Therefore incompetent appointments by Misel add to their workload necessarily.
Judges must resist all intimidation and being told how to decide cases by Misel, especially as they are about to decide whether to annul Misel's election. Misel is clearly issuing threats to the judiciary.

Good evening everyone-
I cannot believe there are people out there giving lip to Today.
Yes, they do not do this and that.
But they also do -do this and that.
I suggest if someone has a bone to pick with Today, just go start a paper and compete with it. That is one option, there is no stronger force then competition to drive the market to the equilibrium of the Consumers needs.
That will put to rest the issue, trust me, it has worked since the days of Adam Smith.
Additionally, Today fills a niche that has had a void for a long time.
If not, buy shares in Today or offer a job application as Editor.
In the end of the day, I am personally glad there is an independent paper. It was sorely missing in Seychelles landscape.
In due course, I am sure the Editor will adjust her sails. Give the Madam credit, it is not easy putting out a paper everyday without state funding in a communist country.

It is time Seychellois stop complaining about senseless issues. Start being pro active and do something about your gripes. Write a letter, sign it, get it published, blog it if you like. Move the envelope along, knowing you helped it along, instead of crushing it for the sake of crushing it.

It does not mean Today is doing the right thing, just because it has given publicity to Christopher Gill.
Chris does not need publicity he has more credibility than Pp members and opposition combined.Did you see who the world press contacted in order to have information on various issues in Seychelles,it was Chris, not Michel not RAM or anybody else. What he would do or achieve them should he has the same tools as Pp and other opposition parties then?Has anyone heard of RAM?All indications seem to say no.

Oil prices slide gathers pace on Greek worries
LAST UPDATED AT 27 JUN 2011,
Oil prices have extended their falls from the end of last week amid continuing concerns about the Greek debt crisis and the weak US recovery.
I think Chris, your slogan should read:
Seselwa Ununite.
I have said many times, the opposition united behind SNP last time. That's the bit you can't understand. It is a 'senseless issue' for you to flog when the opposition are already united.
Chris mate, if you keep flogging the same old tired horse: RAM & a united opposition, I'm going to puke. You've harped on this a hundred times. Repeating it for 100 more times is not going to change anything. RAM is leader of SNP and leader of opposition for as long as it lasts.SNP has done very well without the unity you're calling for, thank you very much. So give it a rest. Move on. Show us how YOU will challenge Michel and Lepep. Show us your programme other than seselwa rasin and seselwa fabrike. Then you'll have a semblance of credibility.
Why have we suddenly stooped into assy issues? There are indeed some nice asses around.

Can anyone please translate in kreol what Barry Faure was talking about on tv this evening? I could not make out head or tail what he was on about. Why can't people tell us things as they are and in as simple a kreol as possible? Why do they want to sound intelligent? James michel has lately come out with words and expressions which do not even exist in Madanm Sopy's diksyoner kreol.

You will say anything to keep your fat cat salaries secure guaranteed pension for life, and VIP cocktail party status for free wine sips and canapes.
If you did not send out a letter castigating Boulle and castigating Volcere individually before elections and 2,000 votes were not spoilt, double of the last election, and 14,000 voters that stayed home voted, you made a full pledged effort to unify the opposition and kept the pledge instead of breaking it, and ex-SNP people were not walking in shame for giving credibility to PL and Michel,I would agree with you.
But as usual, in a intellectually twisted communist manner, DNA of SNP leadership, you expose your own will to remain No.2 and sell us out even more!
SNP has become a sell out party, next we will see you in the National Assembly, giving more credibility to the PL, and collecting your salaries, after you say they stole an election.
What kind of humans did Rene produce in the one party state that today, lead SNP?
Sick!
At this time, it is important to highlight, we think you should shut down your party, you are no longer relevant to Seychelles.
On the other hand the PL think you should stick around and play the role of sell out opposition.
Remember, when you think Seychelles is small for me, it is smaller for you!

It was painful watching Barry Faure speak on SBC last night. He was not making sense either. He is a PL rising star. God help us, if Khalifa does not step in.
Despite oil prices continuing to fall, Guy Adam says he will raise petrol prices this week. What's the point of this much vaunted stabilisation fund ? Was it just to get us past the presidential elections by not increasing prices while at the same time not annoying the IMF ? Guy Adam tells us through SBC that his oil prices are not falling on the international market. But prices of the different types of oil -- Brent, Crude etc, -- that SBC can find the graphics for on the Internet are falling. Is Adam telling us that the Internet is lying ? What kind of oil is Adam buying ? It must be the wrong kind of oil if its prices are bucking the trends for oil prices.
IMF reports rising economic activity - 28.06.2011
“Consumer price inflation remains low – about 2% year-on-year – as the increase in international prices of food and fuel have not yet passed through to domestic prices..." The Nation
I repeat on their behalf, "the increase in international prices of food and fuel have not yet passed through to domestic prices!!!!!!!"
That's a very strong rebuke from the IMF, in their language. They think the presidential elections took priority over the economy. How dare they ?
The inflation increase is 2% for the last year. But it is about 25% since December 2008.
We had Total pushing for petrol price increases. Now the IMF. Who will stop Guy Adam, with more than four and a half years to the next presidential elections ?
IMF said nothing about the price stabilisation fund. It was Nation who inserted that line in their reporting. We are not quite sure whether the IMF thinks it is a good idea or just a gimmick.
Brigitte, Misel had an election to fight first. We were then told we were weathering the international storm, with the help of friendly countries.
We were not told we were storing the problems until after the elections. That is coming as a shock.
IMF arrived early and unannounced. They wanted to gauge the impact of Misel's folly on the economy that is being propped up by foreign loans.
He got 99 problems but the fuel ain't one....
That's how he was carrying on, well sort of. Nevertheless there are increases ariving soon in the form of VAT. Value Added Tax.
Has anyone read the Editorial on page 2 of the Today newspaper? It gives a historical account of how Seychelles became independent, but the summary is quite interesting as it asks whether Seychelles should rethink its present form of Government and possibly return to a Government of National Unity; as was the case with the coalition Government of 1976 under Mancham and Rene. Basically, a Parliamentary form of Government.
Here's the quote from the article:
"On the threshold of our 36th year of Nationhood, and in the face of difficulties and challenges that lie ahead for both the country and the economy, this is perhaps the best occasion for another, and this time more successful attempt at a Government of National Unity that will serve to include all the country's children in the task ahead.
The occasion is ideal to rally the citizens of this country together to rewrite History.
N. Tirant Managing Editor"
What strikes me here is the last sentence about rewriting history. Albert Rene destroyed everything that was good about Seychelles such as education, religious studies and churches, the police and the justice departments and so forth. Now James Michel is bringing everything back and trying to fix what Albert broke.
I guess the question is whether James Michel has the courage to ever bring about a Government of National Unity. What if Michel called for a referendum and asked the people if they want the present system or a new system whereby there is a President and a Prime Minister who really runs the country? What if the majority voted yes and Michel remained President as head of State and someone like Ramkalawan or Boulle became Prime Minister as head of the Government? This is similar to Mauritius and was in fact the system in place before the 5th June 1977 Rene and Michel coup d'etat.
Gill and others on this blog, I would like to hear your opinions on this very important matter, and maybe Gill can reproduce this editorial on this blog and ask for constructive comments.
I personally think Mrs. Nichole Tirant has asked the right question and the right time as Seychelles today is a divided nation of reds and greens and I personally cannot see a brighter political and economical future until we remove politics from the daily lives of the people and let the country operate freely with a smaller Government and less interference from the State.
The form of government at independence was a cross between the American system (that we have now) and the parliamentary system (as in Mauritius).
We had an executive president but he was also a member of parliament. In fact president, prime minister and ministers were members of parliament. The president would have been elected by parliament, not by direct elections, under post independence elections if Rene had given it a chance.
The president was not a figure head as in Mauritius.
Mauritius has a parliamentary system as in the UK, except that the Queen has been replaced by a figure head president elected by parliament. Real power lies with the Prime Minister, from the party or parties in coalition with a majority in parliament.
Our system is also similar to France, but with just one parliamentary chamber.
I do not see how a parliamentary system would serve Seychelles better. We could save money if ministers were also MNAs.
Victory for the united opposition. Faced with certain defeat by not having the two-thirds majority, Parti Lepep decided to withdraw the bill to introduce an electoral commission. Instead Parti Lepep passed a motion to withdraw the bill. I think they were not expecting the opposition to be there.
What rubbish will Misel tell us tonight ?
You know it's rubbish but still you listen.
These speeches are usually accompanied by non-stop cursing in thousands of homes in the country.
Tonight will be no different. Don't tell us to wash our mouths. -- there is no water.
Cursing is, after all, all we're good at.
SBC will then replay the speech for days. Extracts from the speech will accompany news reports and non-news reports, come to think of it. They know it is torturing thousands of people. There should be a crime against humanity charge for this.
SBC has songs for every occasion. There were many songs of koze kouyon for 5 June 2011. I heard this week. "Lendepandans pa nou ki ti demande. SPUP ki ti demande. Nou pa oule lendepandans." But I think they have boobed this time. Although it is a Parti Lepep favourite, Mancham likes the song -- he says it proves him right. In SBC's failed or successful attempts to humiliate Mancham, I am strictly neutral.
Christopher Gill I have been informed by a Freedom Fighter, that SNP Fake Profiles are losing sleep over my activism and the formation of MSR and SFP. Be on the look out, keep all ears to the ground, Seychelles is small according to them, but to me, it is much smaller for them at this hour, like it is for all sell outs! Seselwa Unite! Sesel Pou Seselwa!
The net is closing on you, Chris.
I see where Nicole Tirant is coming from with her editorial. We should not confuse "coalition government" with "government of national unity". They are two very different things and I shall not bore you with details.
I very much subscribe to a political system that uses the talents of ALL Seychellois of goodwill, irrespective of their political persuation. For this, we do not need to reduce the power of the president nor create a position of prime minister. We can achieve this under our current system. What is required is political maturity, sincerity, statesmanship on Michel's part.
Whatever James Michel was on tonight, I want some. Lots of it because it clearly takes you away, far far away to a land of your dreams where everything is just great......For a brief moment I was wondering why, if our independence anniversary gets people so full of crap, it's not our national day. Why don't we celebrate this day that nounn sape as the day to unite all Seychellois anba sa soley tropik? If nou patri pe apel nou (isn't this the rallying call of SNP in the last campaign???)why does he and his government continue to bar nou larout?????

Fes las lo Freedom Square tanto, plenty. But my main concern is the national assembly session today. What in fuck's name was SNP doing there? Which electoral reform have they obtained since 21 May 2011 that enticed them to go there? Can't they see that Lepep is playing with them? They turn up and the so-called motion is withdrawn. Why have I been wasting my time with these jokers? They are as basd as Lepep: no principles, cannot keep their word and are without direction. Mon vot zot pa pou zanmen bez li ankor. ZANMEN. You're all a waste of time, a waste of space and whole bunch of fes las.
SNP again NO WAY. I'd rather give my vote to Lepep. At least they're consistent in their madness.
Since when has SPPFESS voted for SNP ?
Gill you are a fucking loser!!!! Someone should put you out of your misery for the amount of bollocks you speak. Melvin Henrietta
I am sure Misel was sporting a big smirk, knowing that he was bullshitting us tonight. Not a word about the coup d'état, although they were celebrating it with wide open fat arses on Freedom Square a few days ago.
Is this all a big joke ?
Why doesn't Guy Adam explain why petrol in Kenya is 15% more expensive than Kenya as SBC cheekily pointed out tonight ?
Why doesn't Guy Adam explain why petrol in SEYCHELLES is 15% more expensive than Kenya as SBC cheekily pointed out tonight ?

Happy Independence Day every!
On this day, our beloved country gaind independence from a Colonial parent.
It is up to us to make the most of our Independence. If you want Freedom, we will all have to work for it, because after Independence, we were cast into the world of guns, killigs, murder, mayhem, failed economy form the start, and communism until today.
A government of National Reconstruction is necessary and I have always advocated this. But how do you reconcile with a murderer and man that actively sells our patrimony and makes his citizens 3rd class people in their own land? How do you work on a government of reconstruction, when the PL do not want to hold their leadership of thugs accountable for all the missing $2.5 Billion and all the land they stole from the People of Seychelles?
Reply to Gill you are a loser. I know how to take defeat, I wake up the next day and fight harder, and work harder then the day before. This makes me feel like a winner everyday. We do not need failing PL to tell us we are winners, or we are losers. Myself, MSR SFP all know we win everyday!

SNP is going through the same direction as DP.When JAME MANCHAM returned to SEYCHELLES most people beleived things was going to changed than what happenned next was a total delusion,C.GILL knows that very well.PARTI LEPEP IDEOLOGY bring confusion and delude if you're not wise it's easy to fall in their trap, they make you beleive in thing's that does not exist, they manipulate you, tricks you,and not to forget their scaring threats. That's why you see all these oppositions parties fail there's a lot behind it.It's easy to CROSS THE FLOOR because it's their IDEOLOGY'S and when there's an election, their IDEOLOGY SPIRIT'S WORK AT IT'S BEST,IT IS A TIME THAT ALL THE UNTHINKABLE HAPPEN.You must be very, very wise to see that.Next election is coming soon be prepare.Since 5 JUNE 1977 SEYCHELLES has been in such a state that no one knows how to get out of it.Politics are in our everyday life SBC RADIO/TV showing these same faces everytime if you are not PARTI LEPEP you either a traitor who does not love your country or a rebel who want to destroy your country.PARTI LEPEP IDEOLOGY'S STYLE for 34yrs is responsible for all that is happenning in our country. For those who refuse to beleive this reality blaming everything on SNP, you are so captured and blinded in the PARTI LEPEP IDEOLOGY'S.It's more like a CULT PARTY IDEOLOGY.Every time something happen in this country you will hear only the PARTI LEPEP side of the story their views, opinions and what they think and know, only one side in everything.C.GILL I WISH YOU GOOD LUCK if you beleive that your POLITICAL OPPOSITION PARTY will eliminate the IDEOLOGY PARTI LEPEP SYSTEM.But i have a little advise for you unless you,PRAY SEEK GOD EARNESTLY JUST LIKE KING DAVID,because that's how he defeated GOLIATH WITH ALL HIS PHILISTINES otherwise you will soon be just like all these oppositions DP,SNP ECT..tormented in the PARTI LEPEP IDEOLOGY'S SYSTEM.GOD HAVE MERCY.
From British colony to communist dictatorship ,there is no reason to celebrate but rather a day of mourning and reflection. We should decide if we just want to continue critizing the autocratic regime of Pp or get rid of it in order to free ourselves and our country from tyranny.I refused to participate in any communist ritual aim at glorifying communist repression and human rights abuses, and i also refuse to worship ZON LIBRE which represents our people enslavement by a gang of crooks. There could be no better expression of contradiction than to celebrate the paraded idea of communism. It is a celebration of pillaged Seychelles,it is a celbration of three decades of oppression and expliotation. It is amazing though,in spite of his old frail age the butcher has the nerve to preach his own version of history instead of useung his time preparing his obituary. Why the butcher does us a favor by hanging himself ?

Happy Independence Day everyone!
James Michel had every reason to smirk and pull the fragile muscles around his great pair of eyes: He's walked all over SNP and they don't even know it. Be in the assembly "to openly boycott"??**&&? What crap is this???? Chris is right, these people are a bunch of jokers from the top down and should just leave politics. Let us fight our own battles. They are neither leading nor following. Just wasting space. 35 years of independence and this is where we are. And we cannot blame SPPF for all our sorrows.....What a sad and depressing day.
Dear Jeanne d'Arc - the butcher has no reason to hang himself. He surfing on a wave right now. It's Ramkalawan and SNP who should seriously consider this option. The butcher is simply being consistent with himself. Ramkalawan and SNP are all over the place, unsure whether they are opposing, proposing, boycotting, supporting. They are the jokers and crooks. They are the ones failing the thousands who put their trust in and voted for them. If Seychellois cannot see that we are being screwed front and back by both Lepep and SNP, then bon dye sov nou pei.
We should in the first place blame ourselves of our passivity in accepting such tyranny. In most cases tyranny proliferates becuase they are not challenged by the people.Secondly.the weakness and failure of the opposition parties as dispalyed in their prolonged unresponsiveness to their duty to work together to protect and uphold the constitutional rights of the people is alarming, and their reluctance or ineptitude towards the promotion of good governance, transparency, and public accountability is frigthening, all that combine has facilated the logevity of Pp tyranny.
Jeanne D^'Arc
Linite, egalite, fraternite,KONPLISITE!!!!
Depressing Independence Day to all of us!
Nou lavenir i dan nou lanmen. Yer ozordi ek demen. Let's fight our own battles.
How can James Michel not mention the coup d'état ?
It is a joke. They celebrate it every year to please their fat arse wide open morons. Somehow they are ashamed to mention the crime come 29 June.
As independence lasted less than one year, every year we celebrate the coup d'état before independence.
James Michel, Ramkalwan, Mancham, menm boyo. Seychelles would be much better without them.
I heard some SNP MNAs say that that one or the other person cannot be party leader because they would not follow the boycott through. I suppose that only they know how to follow through - by being present in the assembly to openly boycott. I look forward to seeing them participate in the forthcoming assembly elections to similarly openly boycott. No other leader can do this as efficiently as they do. What shall we do without them? How shall we survive without their enlightend leadership?
It is clearer now why St Ange, Ardy Lucas,Derek Savy, David Pierre and countless others decided to abandon ship. This is a ship that is not going anywhere and as it is not going anywhere, they will never get anywhere. SNP will remain permanently where they are: i.e. not going anywhere. Gros gros laguelle, gros gros barik vid. They would nor know what boycott is even if it hit them in their face.
It is of course an anniversary celebration Rene wanted to wipe out. We were supposed to have forgotten that day by now. It was supposed to be just a sports day for school children. Well another failure for him, with one foot in the grave. We will wipe that smirk off Michel's face. Rene may well go to his grave by this time next year, knowing that independence day anniversary celebrations are alive and kicking.
With his re-election process having been condemned and electoral changes demanded, Michel now days lemonn pe ankouraz nou. It is not exactly the pre-election slogan that lemonn pe koz lo nou. We should elect a new president -- Michel has declared himself the president of Cloudcuckooland. The presidency is vacant.

I couldn't agree more. An Independent would state the facts, analyse them and draw a conclusion, I don't see this in TODAY. They just state the facts and left them hanging in the air. The never write about the mistakes and failures of the government, they tend to always portray the government in a good light, probably to the delight of James Michel and parti lepep.
