James Michel & Party Lepep - Laughing Stock of Africa

As the 31 members of Party Lepep were sworn in yesterday as the 5th National Assembly convened and proceeded to vote in Patrick Herminie as the new Speaker and Andre Pool as the Deputy Speaker, a large majority of Seychellois watching SBC must have been laughing out loud at the farcical joke of an Assembly under the leadership of the deranged James Michel.

The Great Speaker Herminie

After all, Seychelles is now truly a one-party state and the Legislative Branch might as well move into State House (Executive Branch of Government) to start taking orders directly from Michel. With no opposition in the house, this assembly will become the joke of the century for the Seychelles people.

Michel, the "Madman" of Seychelles

David aka "Judas" Pierre meanwhile is camping at the Judiciary Branch of Government hoping that come next week, Michel would have colluded with the Judges to ensure that he gets a seat in the Assembly via the back (corrupt) door. Who gives a s**t about the Constitution?

David Pierre aka "Judas"

Should that happen, then Electoral Commissioner Hendrick Gappy might as well resign to save face, and our European Union allies and African Union might as well name Seychelles the first Communist State in Africa to emerge since the fall of the Soviet Union.

Hendrick "Happy" Gappy - Electoral Commissioner

Marie-Louise Potter who believes she has been re-elected as Leader of Government Business, a fake post created by Michel and one that is not even in our Constitution, has proclaimed that her reappointment is due to the "trust in her abilities". I assume that's the ability to screech louder and "suck" better than all members of her own disturbed party. To add insult to injury, she stated that these 31 jokers will now be remembered as the Assembly who will carry out DEMOCRATIC REFORMS!  Seriously Marie-Lou, which planet do you come from?

Marie-Louise Potter - The Shriek from Hell

Moving on from the farce, we now have the report below from Alain St.Ange the stooge.

Alain St. Ange The Stooge

Read it and weep:

Seychelles President congratulates proud examples of African leadership

Seychelles President congratulates proud examples of African leadership(Forimmediaterelease.net) Seychelles President James Michel has saluted President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia and Former President Pedro Pires of Cape Verde as proud examples for Africa following the recognition of their contributions to the continent as recipients of the Noble Peace Prize and the Mo Ibrahim Prize for good governance, respectively.

In his letter to President Sirleaf, President Michel extended congratulations from the people and government of Seychelles, describing the award as a reminder for the international community of its duties towards building a culture of peace:

“Your winning of the Nobel Peace Prize is testimony to your unwavering courage, tenacity, depth of commitment, and the leadership you have shown in advancing the noble ideals of peace and national reconciliation in your country.”

The President added that, given the award was shared by three women, it paid tribute to the role women have consistently played in advancing the ideals of peace, freedom, and equality:

“I strongly believe that your winning of the Nobel Peace Prize is also a victory for women’s rights, human rights, and democracy: the three major components of the winning formula for any country that seeks growth and positive social transformation.”

In his congratulatory letter to Former President Pires, the President celebrated the recognition of the good governance practices being showcased by small island states, adding that the prize was a strong endorsement of the stability and prosperity evident in the Republic of Cape Verde:

“Too often the situation of small islands is marginalized in international forums. We are pleased that this award gives further recognition to island states and also provides a further platform for the defense of issues of critical importance for islands including climate change, the need for a fairer development framework for SIDS, as well as the need for continental developmental programs to also take into account the specific needs of SIDS.”

The President concluded by describing both presidents as forces for peace and development for their countries, continent, and for the wider international community.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, one must surely believe that James Michel, the amazing savant author of his own autobiography can understand his own quote?

Best seller from Michel - Two copies sold, 50000 given away to communist schools

Unless of course Jean-Paul Adam is still burning the midnight oil and still writing undercover for the smartest President in the Southern Hemisphere:

"...the leadership you have shown in advancing the noble ideals of peace and national reconciliation in your country.

Michel, when are you going to learn from others?  When are you going to learn the "noble ideals of peace", let alone "national reconciliation" in your own country?  Well, my own guess is NEVER since you have not apologised to the people of Seychelles for your participation in the 1977 Coup D'Etat let alone the murder of your own people!  "Peace and national reconciliation" will only see the light of day when Michel and Rene are both laid to rest at the Mont Fleuri cemetary plot reserved for politicians of their kind.

Michel "The Big Gun" Communist

Seychelles is on the brink of a revolution. It may not resemble the Arab Spring, but there is an unprecedented anger building up inside a large majority of Seychellois. Over 50% of its population is fed up with James Michel and his Party Lepep cronies.

Albert Rene - From Dictator to Savior?

Some Seychellois are even calling for ex-President and dictator Albert Rene to return to save the country from corruption, nepotism, cronyism and selling of Seychelles land to Michel's Arab friends.

La Misere "Arab Spring"

Sheikh Khalifa - Michel's Arab "friend"

To add fuel to the raging fire, this new Assembly has no credibility whatsoever since more than 50% of the voting population either stayed home on election day or spoiled their ballots in defiance of the bunch of idiots running this country.

The Judiciary meanwhile is still a puppet of State House.  Thus, sooner rather than later, something will have to give.

Justice - What justice?

If Michel has an iota of brain cells left, he should call in all opposition leaders in the country, along with some elderly statesman (something he would know nothing about), and host a round-table meeting to chart a new course for Seychelles.  But having watched the man for over 30 years, he seems to be getting dumber as he gets older and has truly become an Emperor with no clothes.

Danny Faure the "chosen one with a Cuban education" to take over the party is hated by most Seychellois for his sheer arrogance. Thus the future looks quite bleak indeed.

The "Arrogant" Faure

Now in a few short weeks, Danny Faure will announce the largest budget ever seen in Seychelles, and watch Government spending reach new heights while the normal Seychellois worker toil under new taxes.  James Michel + Danny Faure + Party Lepep = BIG Government and BIG Spending.  Resulting in higher taxes on the Seychellois people.  Plus ca change.....

  1. The shambolic Assembly opens today .What we saw today is a violation of the sanctity of the house by communists. This Assembly does not represent the people of this country but a gang of criminals so it does not have any credibility, nor the right to take decision in the name of the people.
Potter spoke about a new dawn for democracy but Potter forgot that commuist is inimical to democracy,it cannot produce anything else than autocratic system.

This Assembly is in fact an embarrassement to us,it is an ambarrasement of our country's image in the world, for we about to be class in the same club as N.Korea,Zimbabwe and Cuba, that in retrun will have interantional consequneces on the country which in most cases never affect the crooks on power but ordinary people striving to make ends meet.

Seychellois must be prepared more than ever to react to this autocratic system that is going to take us backward to the fuedal time with a feudal lord at its head.We must get ready in the coming months to take action against this rogue regime if our call for change is not heard. As he did in this fake election-we will be united and together we will take the pressure to a high level namely the dethroning of PP by massive protest like in Tunisai,Egypt and Lybia. We can not afford to let a handful of criminal to abuse our rights and freedom any more ,It is time for action,it is time for change, together we will make this change a reality.

  2. James Michel is indeed a madman, similar to Mugabe, Idi Amin, Mobutu and his best friend Gaddafi. These autocratic leaders believed that they were kings of a nation and acted like little emperors who owned the state.

Caesar was stabbed by Brutus and Rome fell in one day. Bastille Day got rid of French leaders who never listened to their people. The Berlin Wall fell after Ronald Reagan told Gorbachev to tear the wall down.

Both Michel and Rene are to blame for the current decadent state of Seychelles. It is time for them to pay and for us Seychellois to stand up for our rights. It is time to rid ourselves of these communist despots.

  11. A new dawn of mediocrity is officially on the Seychelles. That is an illegitimate President who has assummed power through vote rigging and a national assembly whose mandate was disapproved through an illegal election were the people clearly expressed their disapproval through the ballot box.Lepep really got what they wanted 27-0. That is 27 for lepep and 0 for David Pierre and an overwhelming yes for opposition for boycotting. The victor was surely in favour of the united opposition. The hypocrite Patrick Herminie yesterday said that he could learn from past mistake. When did Herminie genuinely learn to listen to others who did not belong to his parti lepep. With an assembly of stooge he will surely learn and I hope that SBC put the program before their telenovela because no Seychelloise will take interest in this assembly of the blind opportunistic viruses that are contributing to the demise of the Seychelles on the international arena. What a Joke? the so call serious assembly. It will not get more serious than that. Thank you Michel and his cronies.

The first act of this new, serious assembly is to give their stamp of approval to govt's supplementary budget - our money spent to organise an election that was not necessary and that we did not ask. I do not understand why Danny Faure even bothers to send his "request" to the assembly, knowing that his goons were instructed on what to say and how to vote beforehand? Give us a break guys!

Perhaps by shedding light on the weak links, we can seek ways to strengthen them.I am of course a free thinker, and open to suggestions.I have suggested an opposition round table, but up to now only SNP is absent.

Finally, Pissed off and Tiklo, I said it before, and I will say it again, ask Dr. Ferrari where I was born.He knows.

    Why?

He brought me into the world with his two hands. If he was on Guam at the time, by all means clear this up.We owe all credits for that effort to him.

Have a great day, and take it with a smile, when someone tells us we are "the laughing stock of Africa", blame Pissed off and Tiklo and other communists that are confused as hell right now.

  20. Why did Michel rather why did a regime with a supposed transformational mission to democratization produce such a stagnation?
Economic and socail failure, lack politcal legitimacy. And things will amplify to its worse.A closed system is fundamentally incapable of adaptation and self-transformation and can only produce a vicious circle of decline and protracted decay. This sham Assembly is a good example of Pp decomposition.
Michel who has run out of tricks what forced to abort the WILL of the people, and the supremacy of the Assembly in irder to keep civil soicety as its hapless subjects. However,Michel's miscalculation lies in the fact that rather than breathe precious life into the generic regime or scaring the populace tosubmission,it will spell its inminent decomposition and institutional crisis. In of words Michel is pathing his own distruction. After being exposed for years by oppostion Pp is is now naked it can not deny and lie about its autocratic regime any more, thus Pp is help us exposing itself.
What does lack of reforms mean?It mean conservation of poverty, social and economic degradation, accelerating violation of human rights and simultanously a large incentive to the previous outdated type of societal construction. It can only collapse.

  22. Oh what a great start to the Assembly meetings, with 31 hands going up to give Danny Faure carte blanche for another supplementary budget of over SR 100 million.

Yes Pep Seselwa, we are getting FUCKED by Michel, Faure and Party Lepep and I for one wonder how long our trou fes can hold out from all this pounding that we are getting, while Michel and company continue to pilage and plunder our coffers.

Whoever wrote this article should get credit for warning us about the tsunami budget on the way. Michel and Danny are binge drinking our rupees and I agree that we are about to see the biggest budget ever so that Michel, Adam, Faure and even St. Ange can travel in first class at the expense of our people.

Albert Rene had one secretary and Michel needs 10. Ministers and MNAs now have personal drivers and messengers to do their shopping. Small cars are no longer wanted, only Hyundai x35 and Kia Jeeps will do. BMWs for all the State House gangsters and Arab friends, with no duty paid. Full containers still leaving port unchecked and no duty paid for the concubines and friends in high places. i20 Hyundais for the little girlfriends, plus cheap loans from DBS and Savings Bank. Big loans from Nouvobanq to the more serious girlfriends with tighter toutounes and also for the big red fish. Weekend escapades to Desroches and Coetivy on IDC planes at our expense, courtesy of Glenny Savy and little Francis. SCAA chairmanship for demoted David, just to keep his mouth shut. Some more land for Lablache and Lafortune so that they can cover up the past and of course, let us not forget the big army millionaire brigadier whose guns and bullets keep them in power.

Without a revolution worthy of the Arab Spring, the poor Seselwa will remain a slave to the system. Ale Sesel. Leve Debrouye.

What have the boycott achieved more-No voters from opposition did switched to Pp or PDM because of the boycott in fact the contary happened particiaption were lower than any time in the politcal history of this country.Secondly,Pp will no longer pretent to be democratic and it would be difficult to tell lenders countries the contrary and as a result there will be more interantional pressure on PP to reform.Thirdly,It has sent Chapin,Pierre to find a life instead of depending on tax payers money to make a living.Fourly,The people have any a clear way demonstrate their oppositionand dissaporeval of Pp regime.

What for a historic victory for SFP that took the initiative and conducted a pro-active campaign that completely change the way politcs is done in this country. It is a first sucessful stp which RAM should congratulate and support.

  27. should LOGB (liderr of gov business) be unconstitutional, as it is claimed once in a while, why has this not been challenged in the Constitutional Court too so as to settle the matter?
SA (spikerr lassenmble) is appointed from the majority party in the assembly whereas LO is normally from the leading losing party - hence opposition (in the assembly).
Puzzled as to the fact that there is an assumption that LOGB is indeed that - seemingly possible that the executive branch (which is appointed by the president -elected in totally separate elections) could well be from the opposition in the Assembly. If so, we could end up with an LO and LOGB from the same party - nonsensical, hence why that LOGB position was not covered in the constitution (not required to be)....
in any case, this is precisely the situation now. In order to satisfy constitutionality of the assembly, an LO needs to be named - since the assembly represents the wishes of lepep, current members represent both majority and opposition. there would then be an LO and LOGB from the same party. That should create rifts in the ranks if the LO does or does not play an opposing game.
meanwhile, la sessress is over, the flowers are all blooming nicely in their newly painted pots. lepep likes lakour to be byen prop otour lakaz, konmsa nwa kapab vwar podfler byen fleri.

Unfortunately, Sir James hangers on wanted to make him President for Life and if they were successful, they would have violated the first Constitution where FAR made it abundantly clear that the Seychellois People should be able to vote for the Leader of their choice and thus the reason for the Coup D'tat because how the bloody hell would we have been able to vote for the Leader of our choice when DP would have democratically made
Sir James President for life by a mere show of hand.

  49. Tiklo Proxy For Rene The Butcher-

Universal sufferage was being given in 1967 to all British Crown Colonies. The reason being, Great Britain could no longer afford to hold on to its colonies, it was getting too costly.

With universal suffage came the right to choose a type of relationship Seychelles would have. Though Seychelles chose a close association, White Hall opted for Independence since they did not want Seychelles. They pushed a coalition SPUP-DP because the country was too small to be divided.

If Rene gave us universal sufferage, why is it that remand detainees still cannot vote today?

If Rene gave us universal sufferage, why is it Seychelloise women who reside overseas, cannot vote ?

If Rene gave us universal sufferage, why is it that Seychellois men cannot vote if they are overseas, contrary to the UN Declaration on Human Rights Charter?

Rene gave to those that remained silent. Who had universal sufferage in 1977 - 1992? Answer that Communists?

I pardon the TODAY for publishing this rubbish, because I know they will permit a reasonable intelligent rebuttal to the nonsense.

Rene can live in a dream world if he likes, we know his record, and his dreams will not change that.

You Tiklo, proxy for Rene the Butcher, will not alter the history books either.

Communists as you, and as Rene and Michel have been trying to rewrite history for generations.

Pol Pot tried, and he has failed.

Stalin tried , and he has failed.

Your Brother Gaddafi which you refer to as "The Great Brother" has tried and failed.

You too Tiklo, pathetic proxy for Rene the Butcher will fail to rewrite history, because we are writing it today, faster then you can hook up your pee bottle.

We no longer fear you, or fear Rene or defunct Michel, who has become a pariah of Africa over night.

  57. And to summarize:

Gill played his card with a trump. He called for and encouraged a boycott of the election not in the interest of democracy like he claims but only to unseat the main opposition party. Whether DP was in on it time will tell. His objective after SNP had officially called for the boycott was for him to be registered in time to sneak in at the last minute and stand for the election to gain a seat as the main opposition but unbeknown to him Pierre had the same idea and was quicker than him!
For those of you that think Gill has the interest of the country at heart you’d better wake up from that delusion. If a man can betray his own family and denigrate the very doctor that brought him in this world (assuming he is not faking his country of birth) you have to ask yourself what kind of a human being that man is and if he has ever crossed path with integrity. He loves using names to denigrate others for example David Pierre is now Judas because he decided he’d had enough with SNP and started his own party.
    Gill’s track record:
    He crossed the floor.
Betrayed his uncle and all the Mancham family.
He keeps denigrating his uncle who brought him to Seychelles and supported him in politics to be what he is today
Now he claims that Doctor Ferrari delivered him “with his two hands”
And what is Gill forever doing on his blogs? Denigrating the very doctor who brought him to this world!
Talk about biting the hands that feed you!
Looking at Gill’s track record who other than him qualifies for the crown of Judas.
He is indeed a slthering snake!

  58. They huffed and they puffed in the national assembly. Then they unanimously approved the government's bill for a supplementary budget and even suspended standing orders to make sure there was no delay. The emergency was that Danny Faure had to leave on a foreign trip. The least they could have done was to keep him in the country for a few more days, to show they meant business.

Who do they think they are kidding with their huffing and puffing ?

You have dicided to ignore the fact and not to understand it.

On boycott; let us put things in perspective.Even before SFP was registered as a Party Chris was calling on RAM to boycott the Presidential election and help him avoid another horrific defeat, why?becuase the playing field is uneven, but RAM refused to do so which resulted in his humiliation. After SNP defeat ,RAM realized that a boycott would have been the right answer to delgitimze PP so he decided to join the other oppostion for a Boycott while SFp was still in court fighting for its registration.Just after SFP registration,Chris with his talent of leadership decided to conduct a proactive(meaning going on the ground, door to door to meet the people while RAm was in a private garden) campaigning of boycott to ensure that it reality has the effect it should have namely deligitimize PP,nutralize PDm,Chapin in order to change the way politics is done in this country.Without SFP poractive action the boycott would have not had the same result.

This Pissedoff, are actions that you shoulld be praising rather than complaining,by these actions SFp has given a victory you were never able to achieve in eighteen years.Stop babbling join the round table in order to move this country forward.

  64. James Michel is a moron. Now we need arabs from Abu Dabhi to design a new Victoria. Maybe Kalifa wants a new marina now that he has a coast guard base for himself. Hey Sheikh, how about a new airport with some new planes for Air Seychelles. Hey Sheikh Michel, why don't you just sell Seychelles to Abu Dhabi now?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Just read Today newspaper and shocked to see that a new Victoria is going to be developed by Abu Dhabi planners.

What ever happened to Seychelles pride, in our own country, our own destiny, let alone our own Seychellois architects and engineers? Or are we only good at creating islands from the sea so that huge commissions can be spun off to offshore accounts?

Michel is a sellout to the Arabs, with Khalifa's mountain and Plantation Club underhanded deals and soon Grand Police Hotel. It is so ironic that they used to say Mancham was selling Seychelles to Kashoogi and that was one of the justification for the coup d'etat.

James Michel is no longer President of Seychelles, but a stooge for Khalifa. Sadly, half the population are too busy living off the state and waiting for a handout to notice. One day when they awake from their slumber, more than half of Seychelles will belong to the Arabs. Boulle warned us during his last Presidential campaign, but obviously the dumb ones are still dumb and cannot see beyond the red flags and umbrellas, and of course a few red hundred rupee notes.

I will bet that the first building in the new Victoria will be the biggest mosque in the Indian Ocean. Amazon Betting should start taking bets soon.

t had taken us one year if not more in 1986 to debate, argue, sort out who of the international partners would be best suited to impliment that program. The Italian were importantly involved and they contributed importantly that BCCI, not London but the Luxumburg Office take care of the complex finance issues, multinational finance issues. They were not Pakistan control, they were control by a number of powerful players form the Gulf region including Abu Dabi and Far East. We mention this because we had wanted Barcalys Group to stay clear of this exile/refugee program. In their revenge, anger, vendetta they torpidoe - BCCI those who know the real truth, what the real issues were about - we wrote to the Firm of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited, the /group of Lawyer handling the liquidation and the Court about some of the issues, copy still available.

President FA Rene has also shop in Far East for a large or Group of large Financers to help put in place that SIROP etc exile/refugee program.

When President Mancham and Dr Ferrari hijack that program - they had gone through the process of selecting, inditifying their prefered Group of International investors and bankers, supporters.

President FA Rene have approach the Chinese in Part, the Russian and most important South African.

India from a political prospective have made overture to president FA Rene that they be allowed to make important input in that program.

Now we come to the real filth - form those form the Masonic, archaic, templar, fraternal, illuminati and others - it was the combination of the investors and bankers from the Gulf region - that ignited the first Gulf War. President Saddam Hussein had indicated he could - would help, ie via Seychelles government. The Masonic mechanism, establishemnt that drives big politic and big diplomacy got the wrong end of the stick and those mad politicians in Britain, France, Germany and Italy who did not know anything and the USA - set up the muck for President Sadam Hussien to fall into - that was the "Super Gurn debacle" Lady Tacther is very much alive and Justice Minister Clerk, they were all there and know the real issues. The role of the gutter press, today that infernal satanic rave/rage etc. Vache folle.

This is why we stated President J A Michel just does not know what he is doing and his government and the bunch of elected.

Just like the super mess with the Pirate issues, for him he think that the Gulf War, was game, political amusement, to swell his small head - they ought to take him to the ICC before he make a bigger mess of the Region and the world - if/should he know anything about our greater archaic, fraternal, illuminati, masonic and such working.

Can he fathom the scale of the muck, what led to the destruction of Iraq and the hanging of President Saddam Hussien. The utter mess Iraq is in today, the suffering of these people, the making of world, european politic and economy on the back of it - the father of the current ruler of Abu Dabi was fully informed, aware - we know some of the issues. Another person who was very well aware was Mr Giovanni Mario Ricci and so to did Mr Guy Morel. There are those in Mauritius, Reunion and Madagascar, South Africa who know and knew of those issues.

Does he realize what will happen when those in the Pentagon, CIA and USA politicians get the wind and the media, those in Britain, Australia, Canada, South Africa, France in particular, China, India, Pakistan, the Russian, Research some of the issues we/I have written and it will refresh their mind/system.

He is the grandaddy of the current system that has systematically has sold everything sellable in our country to foreigners and Fabrike simply to fill his own pockets and to keep his cabal of criminal Collaborators in power indefinitely. This indictment of the greatest criminal Rene the butcher can go on and on. But I've said enough - for now.

But have no fear TIKLO proxy for The butcher. No matter how long it takes we Seselwa Rasin will bring your pal The butcher to justice for his crimes, even if we have to put his memory on trial even after worms are feasting on his fetid body. That goes for all his Pp Collaborator children.

  115. The opposition is in better shape than ever

Delighted opposition supporters in Seychelles got a massive boost when the election results were announced. We saw clearly that we are a force to be reckoned with, and that our strength is on the increase despite all the obstacles placed in our path to discourage us. Seychellois are demonstrating that slowly, slowly we are getting more determined and will soon smash the barriers before us to claim a Seychelles that is truly free and democratic. The opposition is solid and will stand by all Seychellois, and defend them and our country.

    SNP supports opposition movement

For the election boycott campaign, SNP joined with NDP and Mr Boulle to encourage Seychellois to either stay at home or spoil their vote. We led this struggle together and we have let the government and the international community know that we are serious and that we will not be pushed around. The result shows that this calculated strategy worked. It is our country, Seychelles, that was the great winner in this election. The conclusion that everyone, especially Mr Michel and his government, must get is that Seychellois will stand firm when it is necessary. For our rights, we will do it.

    SNP supports the democratic process

The election result also shows that we still have a very long way to go towards true democracy, despite 18 years of multi-party system. SNP once again extends its support to all partners in the opposition to continue the fight for democracy. We renew our search for better laws and better practices for us to make progress. We will support the Seychellois people, to make sure that our people and country get what is best. There is no place for mediocrity in our democracy.

    Stand firm for Seychelles

We call on all those who have always supported us to stand firm. We are looking ahead in a serious manner and we must level the playing field. There is no place for discrimination and favouritism in our country. There is no emperor or lord in our country to dominate our lives and our future. This land is for all of us. Together, we will decide its destiny. As we always say, “Sesel i pou Seselwa!” This means we all have a stake in it and we will never allow anyone to command our lives. We will forever remain the master of our destiny.

We push on with the struggle

Since 1977, many have been struggling for democracy in our country. Others joined the struggle later and today more people are showing determination and coming forward to play their part in moving this country forward. We need everyone, if we are to succeed in this struggle. We need to consider all ideas to find the best strategy. We ask you to come forward. If we do not do it for our country, we will go backward. Together, let us show our determination and together we will pull off a real victory for Seychelles.

  118. SFP was the intiator of the boycott that even becoming a party. It was Chris who publicly told RAM to boycott the Preidential election, which the latter refused to do ,only after his defeat he realized how improtant and benficail the boycott could have been for him that he accepted for an Assembly boycott. Then SFP was registered and twenty-four hours later SFp was on the ground ,going door to door to ensure that the people understand why it was important to conduct a boycott and what they will gain out of it.Again, without the pro-active actions on the ground the result would not have been so successful. Why it won't have been successful?Past campaign s have shown that going in a private garden to make one speech then stay quiet until an election was never an effect way of doing a campaign.SFP did act deifferently by going to the people it wanted their support and this face to face contact did give our voiceless people the feel that at last a party cares for them and wanted to make their voices heard, with this confidence SFP proudly and suceesful spear headed this boycott. The damage done and its success took PP,RAm and many others as a schocked for they did not necessary belive in the success of the boycott and never thought Seychellois will ever react in this way.

Now since the people have given the oppostion a clear legitimacy to act in their names,we should not decieve them, and one must say RAm unexpalinable passive-action to refuse joining the round table is not at all a god sign he is sending to the people. He should put his differences aside ,come forward and do the right thing for the ocuntry,or make public that he is a Pp support, then he can be part of Michel's government.

  121. SPPF abandons its newborn baby

Seychellois watched the political spoof closely. The racket of hurrying up to form a political party just to take part in the elections did not go down well with the people. Everyone detected that this was just a manoeuvre to give credibility to the elections and to pretend that democracy exists in Seychelles. Parti Lepep was banking on a caricature opposition in the assembly. Their anger is aimed at Ramkalawan. Now that their plan has come to nothing, we see that they are already distancing themselves from the one they were manipulating. That is classic SPPF/Parti Lepep behaviour. We thought some would be alert to these practices, but unfortunately we saw that certain people were prepared to exchange their soul for favours. They have it coming.

The first sign that the step-parents are cutting off the umbilical cord is the court case. We would have thought that Parti Lepep too would have gone to court to contest the way the Electoral Commission is doing its job. But what did we see instead ? They have quietly named their 6 proportionately elected members and left Pierre to his own devices. Isn’t there a lesson for someone to learn ?

    Pulling Pierre's strings

Parti Lepep has another way of destroying you. They build you up, allowing you to think that you matter to them. As you get going in your new guise, they cut you down to size. That’s the other thing that is taking place. They invite Pierre to see the MNAs swearing in and he turned up open-mouthed. But that was just a gimmick. They take him for a marionette, because they know they can pull his strings anytime. Later, we will hear the result on the news. That’s what we call a humiliation and it is coming.

Seychellois know this very well. Later, those who have allowed themselves to be used will sob about how they were discarded. How many times have David Pierre and Jane Carpin made this very point in their speeches in the national assembly ? Were they deaf to what was coming out of their mouths ?

Seychellois, SPPF/Parti Lepep know that their plan has failed. They do not need PDM anymore. Stay tuned and we will see how another bunch of people have been discarded once their “use by date” was up.

Opposition supporters, come together and stand up for real democracy in our country.

  131. The key is lost

During the last election campaign, Marie-Antoinette Rose, in her usual arrogant style, went on SBC and said that some people think they take the key to democracy with them in their pocket when they leave. She might have spoken the truth for once. It seems that the key to the leader of the opposition seat has been lost and David Pierre has gone to the constitutional court to hunt it down with the help of Tiroz herself. It is never good to speak too soon, in case it turns out to be true. They even talked about wasting money on the Mont Fleuri bye-election. But, please, don't be shy to tell us how much has been wasted on this scam election !

    Herminie misses the opposition

Herminie came close to shedding crocodile tears over the absence of opposition in the assembly. His real problem is that he is a bully. He will now have no one to lord over and to shout “out” at. For our part, we would rather call him “Miss” rather than “Speaker” because he acts more like a P1 teacher. Is that the “New Assembly” ?

Veterans parachute in to take over

The young and the not so young have already had an appreciation of how their party functions. The veterans have been parachuted in and have taken the jobs. In the fight over titles, even Wilby Lucas has come a cropper. That is wrong. The ‘legal eagle’ has been thrown away on the compost. Potter is furious because she did not get her foreign embassy. Deco is frustrated because Potter has not made way for him. The happy Larry is Pool. The people are keen to see how this so-called assembly is meant to operate. We will keep you posted. Promise.

Didn’t like it inside, don’t like it outside

What are we to make of David Pierre and Jane Carpin ? Neither of them has ever won an election. It was thanks to SNP that both of them became “honourable members” and got a taste of the national assembly. Pierre bailed out, without being pushed. Carpin raised a finger and dismissed herself. Now that they are both out of the assembly, they have tried to get back in. The people said “sorry, no way Jose”. They are still fighting to get back in. Seychellois have realised that these two are “lost”. We really need a new tune with the title “I didn’t like it inside, I don’t like it outside either”.

That's what happens when there is no independent judiciary and the judges give the government what they want.

  150. Time to stop worrying about Pierre. It is not important.

If Pierre wins the case, then the opposition should in one united voice, Boycott all reform efforts and push for closure of the 3rd Republic, since the election does not meet constitutional muster.

Stop playing with PL, if you are serious about Democracy and Freedom. .

Call it a day, push for a closure on 3rd Republic since Michel has taken down a bad deal road by buying a fake opposition and other issues.

Then negotiations can take place in round table to push new rules and new constitution.

Let him run the country under State of Emergency laws for 12 months in that time, the work can be done or we can start general strikes with use of sick leave. Then move on to other soft tactics to not get your people hurt needlessly.

Spoken like a real "Angel of Truth".

Put the attacks on me aside, I am deeply hurt when I see someone like Mr. Viral Dhanjee fighting costly battles to expose the corrupted PL in the courts, being attacked and attempted sidelined.

I do not agree with everything Mr. Dhanjee does or says, but I will defend his right to say what he would like to say even if it is hard to do.

Some examples of his work :

Dhanjee works actively, to rehab drug users, he does not merit a voice?

Dhanjee filed constitutional court case costing him over 75,000 to invalidate the results of the presidential election, does he deserve to be castigated ?

Dhanjee has now filed another case that will cost him 75,000.00 to dismiss non seychellois judges on appeals bench when Seychellois can do this job, and it is not an urgent need to appoint the non seychellois. This like the first case, is another hallmark case. Does Dhanjee deserve to be castigated?

    I think not.

This vemon which is in the SNP camp is sickening.

It must be stopped or it will destroy the SNP.

The word, is the Dhanjee is not good enough to sit next to Ramkalawan in a round table. Are you people nuts?

Jesus put these perceptions aside when he stopped the stoning of a town whore when he said to the crowd: "let he who is without sin cast the first stone".

The crowd looked at Jesus, dropped their stones, and they walked away.

Grow up people and sort your selves out. The opposition cannot afford your childish and foolish tirades any more.

It is his way of telling us what he thinks about the struggle for democracy in Seychelles. Can't wait to hear him try to speak Chinese. The Chinese can't be too happy with him. They will want the full story about US drones operating from Seychelles.

If the electoral reforms will be what Simon Gill talked about on SBC and presumably Parti Lepep's idea of electoral reforms, then the Electoral Commission is wasting its time. The game is not worth the candle.

Michel has sent Gappy to consult the country. It might sound sensible, but it is nothing more than a delaying tactic. The country approved a constitution that Parti Lepep pays lip service to, starting with a politically independent SBC that we are still waiting for 18 years later. These reforms will meet the same fate.

Freedom Party does not need a pathetic vile human as yourself to thank us for a job well done when it is obvious what we did is right.

We do not work for vile humans as yourself that praise communism and raise high the practice of murder, national rape as being a heroic deed, we work for all Freedom Loving Seychellois that God Blesses everyday.

I prefer if you just critic us and curse us.

Mr. Gappy deserves to be heard, only in the context that we now have a constitutional crisis on hand to deal with. This is no laughing matter. It requires dialogue and engagement and frank discussions with all parties.

It is in this context that the road map he has presented will the Freedom Party deliberate and decide the next course of action in due course.

In the meantime, we call on all opposition parties to meet in a Round Table and strengthen their resolve to do what is best for the country and put petty party politics aside when a bigger issue is at stake.

So far SNP has not turned up, and preferred to go into private behind door sessions with who they choose, whenever they choose .

This is not feasible and it is not functional wherein a national issue the validity of our constitution and government is on the line.

Divided, the PL will remain victorious. United, we will change Seychelles forever. PL's children will thank us for it.

  171. As Gill found out with press releases that are rushed out, the Electoral Commission has ended up with eggs on its face with a press release that was rushed.

It has got its knickers in a twist over the last sentence in the press release from the United Opposition leaders. Having read the press release, it was clear to me that they were asking for an Electoral Reform Commission to direct the process of electoral reforms and for the opposition to be represented on the commission. True, the last sentence could have been worded differently to foil mischief-makers in the Electoral Commission.

In its rushed reply, the Commission is accusing the United Opposition leaders of seeking to direct the work of electoral reforms. Dramatic stuff but it is a total mis-reading of the press release.

Anyway its response to the absence of the opposition at their meeting shows that the Electoral Commission knows that its work will lack credibility if the opposition are not on board. That's a good start. The next step is for the Electoral Commission to ask the government to set up an independent Electoral Reform Commission under an act of parliament and for a commitment to give its recommendations the full force of the law. Otherwise, we have a terrible sense of déjà vu .

Its spat with the United Opposition leaders over a misinterpretation of the press release shows that the Electoral Commission is not the right body to carry out the work. It is getting sucked into party politics and having to take sides. The Electoral Commission can only tighten its own administrative electoral procedures and, listening to Simon Gill, this is what Parti Lepep understands by "electoral reforms". The opposition is asking for democratic reforms, including electoral reforms. That's what the boycott of the national assembly is about. That's why we have a dysfunctional assembly.

The five members of the Electoral Commission must know that it looks dishonourable for them to spend the next 2 years (and millions of rupees) on a useless exercise and a final report that Michel will use as toilet paper. They should not be undertaking consultancy work for the government and then having to be at the mercy of the government to have their proposals implemented. It undermines the independence of the body. They should stop before they are further compromised.

    ReplyDelete
  172. The answer to your dilemma is clear, Gill. If you do not want Parti Lepep (PL) to get the wrong signals from Parti Laliberte (PL), you should stop flirting with them. Yesterday's eye contact is being taken as an interest in what they are doing. It is no good trying to have a foot in both camps.

  173. EC can tigthen his position or chance it în order to abide by democratic norms. He should have realized by now that his own position is questionable for his election and that of his memebers were not done according constitutional norms.

Moreover,If Gappy or Pp resist c^to chance themselves the people reserve the right to come and do it for them.

One must not have the illusion that the people are going to sit until the next election to claim for reforms.Reform must be achived as fast as possible .If Pp think we gonna look at them dragging their feets to gaintime and not to change,i reapeat we will change PP.

Pp must understand that the way of doing politcs in this country has changed since the boycott, they get the message of the people or the people will come for them.

You make us laugh at Freedom Party.

We have no intention to "Beze" SNP. SNP is not a issue.

We have only said:1. we will not agree to press releases in round table committee to be signed off and amended by SNP when they do not even attend these meetings. SNP is not sent to us from the Greek Gods.

Secondly, we see no issue with attending a session to listen to Mr. Gappy. We have called for dialogue. It must start somewhere, no matter how imperfect the start is.

Thirdly, Pissed off, I am not your Brother. I call few people by that term and I respect it greatly and mean what I say when I refer to someone as a brother.

What is happening is that SNP is being exposed as a sell out party . Now you dump them, when you see they are losing support because they are exposed as sell outs, like Pierre and company.

We expect that from you communists.

In reaction, we will engage with SNP at the Round Table and we expect them to turn up. If they do not, then we cannot say we did not try. We have been trying. Unfortunately, they think very highly of themselves, thanks to you PL pumping them up for so many years.

Pierre and PDM need to sort themselves out as well. They should withdraw there case from court to steal a PR seat. When they do that the Round Table will dialogue with them and work to foster greater unity in spite of all these symptoms borne out of communist tricks.

With regards to SNP si ou pa bez zot, zot pou bez ou veye wa war!

As for Pierre, like you he is exercising his democratic right to challenge his position in respect to the constitution and like SNP, he doesn’t need any dialogue with you!
He has no time to yap with SFP!

We dialogue with any one in the opposition.

Hence the call to dialogue with SNP.

They are still opposition in spite of short comings of being manipulated heavily by PL.

Pierre and Zeeda Party are a fake opposition fielded by PL.

Hence, why we ask them to stop the act of attempted theft of a PR seat. They must withdraw their case, before it is too late.

If they do this, the Opposition Round Table I am most certain, will dialogue with him.

We must open our hearts and minds to all who repent and cast off communism.

We are all brothers in the eyes of God. But I am not God. I am but a victim of your failed system like so many Freedom Loving Seychellois.

As for getting rid of me, you can kill me, but you cannot kill Freedom. It will outlive you all, for the seed has been planted in the minds of all Freedom Loving Seychellois!

One day all evil man and those who have participated in murdering their own people for their lust for power and the riches of the earth would meet similar faith. 42 years the Libyan people have waited to breath freedom but their prayers have been answered at last by their so called leader who called them rats and infidel for wanting to live as free people. More tyrants and dictators must be shivering in the earthly palaces from this breaking news.
