Mr. Viral Dhanjee, a prominent Seychelles society personality has been categorically blocked from participating in the upcoming Presidential Elections by Mr. Hendricks Gappy, the Electoral Commissioner in the Republic of Seychelles .
Hendricks Gappy - the Not-so-independent Electoral Commissioner who takes orders from James Michel
This block of certifying Mr. Dhanjee as an independent presidential candidate comes after the Commissioner of Elections blocked the Mouvman Seselwa Rasin (MSR) from being registered as a political party.
The leader of MSR, Christopher Gill, has called for a general boycott of the Elections believed to be rigged and a sham.
MSR Flag
The blocking of Mr. Dhanjee as a candidate is another nail in the coffin of these rigged sham elections in Seychelles . It is an overt display of selective discrimination to help the party in power, Party Lepep.
The rational of blocking Mr. Dhanjee is that of the 670 signatures he submitted, with ID card numbers, only 474 were fully complete after they were closely scrutinized by Election officials. This means Mr. Dhanjee was short of 26 signatures. However, Nomination Day had not closed yet, and Mr. Dhanjee could have easily been given the opportunity to get 26 signatures, before the close of the day. He was not given this opportunity. It is highly unreasonable to not permit him to cure any defaults, if any.
Mr. Dhanjee believes that his candidacy would garner at least 12% of the vote from intellectuals and grassroots disgruntled with the ruling Pary Lepep led by incumbent James Michel, and the placated SNP opposition led by Wavel Ramkalawan.
With his 12% vote support, Mr. Dhanjee says that this would push a second round and the norms of democracy in Seychelles will then begin to take root. By him being blocked from participating in contravention of the Constitution of Seychelles, Mr. Dhanjee believes that the possibility for a second round is now slight with the current list of candidates.
Mr. Dhanjee will be writing the Commonwealth to brief them on this undemocratic blockade of his candidacy and he will take appropriate court action.
It is now becoming clear that some citizens can participate in the political affairs of the country, and others cannot.
If Seychelles is a democracy, it did not look like one on Nomination Day with the refusal of Mr. Dhanjee‘s right to participate and no MSR candidate allowed to be present let alone be permitted to exist.
Mr. Dhanjee was a registered member of the MSR and decided to attempt to participate in the election process after the MSR had been blocked by the Supreme Court from being registered.
Mr. Dhanjee has lost a battle, but he has not lost the war. By blocking him, it is in fact the Party Lepep who is losing the war. On the sidelines, the opposition candidates of SNP, NDP and Mr. Boulle have thus far remained silent on blocking of candidates in the process.
Philippe Boulle - Independent Presidential Candidate
Ralph Volcere - New Democratic Party Presidential Candidate
In the end, another court case for Hendricks Gappy, the not so independent Electoral Commissioner to deal with after the sham election is over! The elections in Seychelles is clearly rigged in favour of the incumbent Party Lepep and its leader James Michel who participated in the June 5th 1977 Coup D'Etat to oust the then legally elected Sir James Mancham from power.

1 – 200 of 262 Newer› Newest»Assuming he had 12% and forced a second round, what would he and these voters have done in the second round ?
Would they have gone back to PL or voted for SNP ? If they were going to vote for SNP, it would make sense for them to vote for SNP in the first round.
I do not believe that DP or Boulle would be able to deliver the vote of their supporters to their preferred candidate in the second round.
If you are disgruntled with PL , you stay at home or you vote for change with SNP.
This concludes that PP refusal to register MSR was politcally motivated. It also tells the people of this country that their votes will be stolen by PP and other means of struggle to get those donkeys out must be concidered.
What would have he done with 12% ?Probably what he wants. The point here is not what he would have done with 12% but the fact that PP is depriving Seychellois of exercising their legitimate rights.
And as always RAM is notably quite on the issue and this suggest that he approves PP action. Is that what Pp calls politcal ethics?

An other COUP will surely fail this time around and Michel will face massive interantional pressure. He will then have to choose betweem suicide or face the same fate as GBAGBO of Ivory Coast or if wants a counter revolution but what is sure we will not allow this to happen again.
Jeanne D'Arc
This is the best time for us to change the government peacefully. Michel will have to leave if the results go against him, unlike in 2005 when he left the world guessing whether he would go or not. The army will not dare step in -- they can't be that stupid given what is going on elsewhere in the world. Firing on unarmed civilians is a crime against humanity and the UN will step in. Rene will go to Australia and see how things go from there. The international climate for a peaceful change is now. We must take it --- that is this generation's responsibility. There is no guarantee it will be the same in 2016 when a future generation may well have to fight for their freedom.
It is understandable why MSR is supporting Dhanjee's cause. It seems that Dhanjee was MSR's trojan horse.
It would be kamikaze for Ramkalawan to support Dhanjee's cause, as the latter could have damaged the former's electoral chances.
If people want to remove the monkey in charge of elections and put an end to the monkey business once and for all, they must vote for SNP. SNP will replace Gappy by an electoral commission, making it difficult for one man to take orders from the politicians to manipulate the electoral process. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, for crying out aloud !!!
MSR will support anyone denied the the right to participate in the process. This right is protected under the Constitution of Seychelles.
The fact that Mr. Dhanjee is a MSR registered member is irrelevant.
We hope he will join our call for a General Boycott of these sham elections aswell.
Volcere must be listened to carefully, and not with half an ear of attention.
Mr. Volcere, said he "will form the next government in coalition with one of the two major parties". The condition he placed forward was explicit on corruption and tax issues.
This meand Volcere can support PL or SNP.
What Mr. Volcere fails to say is that under our system, there is no coalition parties in second rounds.
Money is getting the better of you all, and the scoundrels will all line up one by one, behidn Gappy to hear the results.

In just one short day, James Michel managed to be on the scene of an accident, be in the first pew at mass, visit the hospital and unveil a monstrosity of a "monument". He was not campaigning , we will be told. This is only a president with en leker pour tou seselwa, being with "his people".
Somebody PLEASE shoot me!
Once again, government has a great plan for the industrial fishing sector. In 2006 it was launched with grand fanfare at St anne resorts under the distinguished patronage of HIS EXCELLENCY the president. This time it's a more sombre affair but as usual SBC managed to turn the event into another huge BAT LATET just before elections.
James Michel is desparate. He has to win this election at all cost. On 21 May he will be declared the winner no matter what.
He is making an amazing confession in his PPBs -- he is a slow starter and has not finished his work.
He says he has just started and he needs a new mandate to finish. This is after 7 years as president and 34 years of SPPF and Parti Lepep. It is the oldest trick in the book and we are not falling for it. He needs to be sacked on 21 May 2011 on grounds of being a self-confessed slow starter, among others.
Why have you not finished your work before the deadlines were up, Mr President ?
If elected he will go back to sleep on the join again, until 6 months before the elections.
Has the news of William's and Kate's honeymoon in Seychelles been leaked by Parti Lepep to gain political capital ? Put nothing past them, they are desperate and would sacrifice anyone to hang on to power. As Seychelles was on the shortlist, I would have expected UK Security to have scouted the place by now, hence PL knowing.
Have the SNP collaborators out there here what Mr. Davidson Barra had to say about the SNP last night. I believe these guys cannot be trusted. Like someone said earlier, it's better the devil you know...!

One thing we all agree upon that Pp must go than all efforts must be done to deny Pp regime for exploiting this election to legimize its dictatorship.Opposition must reconcider their unfortunate stands and boyccott this illegal election. They should shoe leadership and courage and stop being used by PP and show solidarity with their colleegues who were denied to even run for election. Some of these leaders may suggest that they do not have other alternative,i disagree. There is an alterantive it is called peoples' power. We should tell Michel and his thugs "give me my freedom or face the consequences of his actions.we should do what is takes to reclaim our GOD given liberty and freedom, even if going to the gates of hell we should be able to do that, for there is no a price more expensive than tthe price of freedom. We cannot exspect a criminal who used a Ak 47 to topple our democracy to bring freedom to us, Michel and his ilks to bring freedom to us.Michel is not the businness of conducting fair and free election that will oust him out of power we must force him out like the Tunisian,Egyptian have done.
Michel attempt to entice some memebers of the military to support him which for Michel means Coup DÊtat will fail if even attempt. It will fail because the world will not allow it,it will fail becuase Seychellois are not ready to shoot of their brothers and sisters and therefore be part of the crimes of an old mad dictator who days are count. They also know when thing will went wrong that Michel will pact up his brief case full of tax payers money and exile in the last Dictators safe heaven Saudi Arabia or EUA while them they will have to pay the price. This expalin why Michel depend on foreigne mecenaries to protect him he just do not trust our military and it is a means to counter balance the risks of a military mutiny or even a coup.
Oppostion can agree and unity on one simple thing-Michel must go now!

Davidson Barra is a prostitute and he'll soon realise that.Another big one on the way is David Pierre.Lepep has promised him to replace Macsuzy as Minister of Education.
What is their definition of politcal ethics,it is rather selfishness and the greed for power at all costs including selling their soul. This tells Seychellois that those people cannot be trust at all and should never be allowed to hold higher offices in this country.Seychellois need people with integrities to lead them not people with self interests. That why MSR is the answer to the oppostion they do not satify the people they suppose to represent instead what they do is represent their own interests and their thirst for power.
Jeanne D'Arc
What is MSR doing to publicise the boycott ? Why is there no demonstration ? The boycott has been publicised on the internet only.
PL has created a very lucrative market for defectors and potential defectors from SNP. Khalifa's cash is irresistible for some. It's the political equivalent of kiss and tell.

I suppose the above has been posted by SNP apologist. There are many reasons people leave political parties or switch allegiance. Some do it for money, others do it because the politicians no longer represent their values. In Seychelles we have a string of politicians who have disppointed their supporters: Rene in 1977 (and during the one party state and beyond), Mancham on his return to Seychelles, C. Gill when he joined the SPPF (in 1994) Ramkalawan in 2007 when he decided he had enough and wanted to sleep well at night. One thing is common (except for the Gill) and that within their own political party those leaders had an autocratic and dictatorship style. No one political party has a democratic system in place. No one can challenge the leader. That schema is reproduced on the National Level.
I am not surprised that SNP loyalist are now taking to insulting past collaborators. That is the sytle of both SPPF and SNP. In fact the SNP is just a reflection of the SPPF.
For the time being i see only Volcere who has come with something fresh. I do not trust him, but i must say over the past few years he has done some good work with the Sey Weekly. For the time being my vote goes for him. But this may change as the campaign progresses.
Vox
I partly agree with you but when it comes to Chris,he did not join SPPF 1994 for personal interest but it was a worth attempt to break down PP in the within .Contary to those switching to PP under the disguise that SNP does not represent their values. In this context one can concider that they are motivated by the same greed as members of pp communist gang namely to prolong the suffering of their people and get access to higher office to steal from them.
Jeanne DÂrc
Well, Vox, you were saying that Barra left for reasons of principles. Do you still stand by that ?
Misel called for ethical campaign when he had a lot of dirty tricks lined up.
Davidson Barra is not the only prostitues in the political arena so does those who went to drink tea and coffee at state house and ended up with a pension for life and becoming millionaire in the process. Knowing Davidson well i think this guy realised that he was being used by the SNP leadership. Remeber that guy was with the SNP for a longtime and i think academically he is good and he is intelligent too. But it so happened that he was never given the chance to go to a university by the SPPf. What he saw enfold infront of him those who are wealth being given the chance to earn more by the SNP leadership and people who has not worked hard and not intelligent given the chance to even be a member of the parliament. People like Sandy Arrisol is he more intelligent than Davidson. The answer is know. Lawyers like Anthony Derjacques who is earning a lot has been going in and out of the assembly. Why was Davidson never given any opportunity to be more active political in SNP given that he was doing the job of a political journalist. I would not condemned Davidson nor condone his action but what i do know is that for every action there is a good reason behind it. This is a lesson for leaders who have been busy taking care of themselves for four years without trying to build up a sound democratic structure within his party and when the big day comes there is mutiny on the ship. So what is happening are just the bad karma of four years of in action and trying to build up self image . Ironically it looks like SNP from within is just an SPPF clone with same mentality. This is why we need real change and alternative in the Seychelles politics because there are lots of corrupt politicians who are thinking only of themselves without showing any mercy of the common people. I am afraid that it seems that money will play a big part in that sham election. And more defection will surface because of dictatorial mentality from the so called politicians who are advocating change. To change any system or structure first we have to change ourselves. And one should show by their action that they are different. In that election the only person who is different is Volcere since day one after the election he has lead a campaign to open the eyes of the people of the evil of the SPPF system whilst others were drinking tea at state house preparing their big pay packet.
To end i will conclude to say that there are a lot of prostitues as well in the SNP camp who are just after the money and not the interest of the people. I will surely give my vote to Volcere. That is it
Davidson Barra is clearly a prostitute, having moved from SNP to Boulle's camp and now to Party Lepep. Money talks and bullshit walks as the old saying goes.
Radio Bamboo says that David Pierre has also walked out on SNP and moving to the Lepep camp. How sad is this for SNP, Pierre himself and his family of supporters. He has certainly lost my respect, ditto for Davidson Barra. They remind me of Percy Ahman who went from one party to the other and now only Ramadoss can afford the liability at Rising Sun (or rather Dead Planet).
There are more prostitutes in the making and the State House pimps are working overtime to spread the wealth around and secure some high profile signings to jump ship and join the revolution. Sadly, many need the money and have lost all their dignity, while others have no choice as they look for a promotion, a cheap house loan, or simply some money to pay off debts and buy food for their children. But choosing to be a prostitute is still a choice, and a person can simply refuse and move on. Selling one's soul is worse than selling one's body.
Large posters do not win elections, but people with brains and money do. In the case of Party Lepep, they have no heart and it is all about using money and the media to do their dirty work. Don't even ask where the funds are coming from. As for SNP, this is Wavel's last stance and the buzzards and scavengers are starting to circle to pick at the dead bodies that will soon be scattered across the green fertile fields at Arpent Vert. May their souls rest in peace in the cemetery of political losers.
The only winners in this election will be Boulle and Volcere, as they have shown heart and determination and an element of honesty at the current situation in Seychelles. The Seychellois populace are the losers, including the ones who vote for Party Lepep. Just wait for the milk and honey to stop flowing after the elections. And to think of 5 more years of James Michel on SBC-TV every night. Makes me want to vomit already.
Let those that can be bought go. It is occupational hazard for the opposition with limited resources.
What do those who support PL think, seeing their party spend money on ex-SNP and not on them ? Them who have to live on electoral promises, while enduring the high cost of living.
Perhaps they should consider quietly voting SNP to punish their party.
Being Leader of the Opposition must be the toughest job in the country. Being President of the country must be a breeze after that.
You see how distable mind can be easily be manipulated. Now that SNP is bedevilled with cripping internal crisis and this sudden exodus-like deffection should RAm not re-think on his unfortunate decision to go it alone. How can a party that cannot unite internal convince the voters that its can unite the country?
Being a Leader of the existing opposition is not a tough job but rather a job which you donot have to do anything but still pocket more than a minister. Why take responsibility when doing nothing earn you a fortune ,why build up a coalition to defeat Pp while playing the role of faked oppostion secure their personal interests.opposition members like their existing roles it is a way of making a living without hard work.
Jeanne DArc
There is not a lot the Leader of the Opposition can do if someone can be bought and PL buys them. It is about money, not political convictions. James Michel must be desperate to resort to that kind of politics which tarnishes his government.
It makes you wonder what would have happened if Pierre had been chosen as VP candidate, only to jump ship during the campaign and try to derail it. You have also to wonder how many more bags with 30 pieces of silver PL will use in this campaign.
These guys are fighting to see who will be the next at the helm of the country to prolong the existing status quo ,none of them seems concern of the aspiration of their people and their wish for genuine change.Such creatures should be exposed and denied any public offices for they represent failures.
Sesel pou Seselwa.

RAM should decipline his members ,they are crossing the floor.
Jeanne DArc
The problem is that Ramkalawan has shown its followers that he himself can be bought (remember that in 2007 he was bought over by the SPPF, remember the Siva money), it does not come as any surprise that Barra and this morning David Pierre has been bought over (at least that is what SNP apologists are claiming that SPPF bought those 2 people over). The SNP mot d ordre to people is to take SPPF/PL money, that is the official party position encouraging people to take electoral bribe, after proposing that what does one expect!
Knock knock, is anybody left in the SNP?
Vox
I do not mind if a leader is autocratic within his own party. It may also mean that as President he will be autocratic within the cabinet of ministers. You join the party management or cabinet knowing the leader is autocratic. You can always leave. After all, the leader of the party or the president has been elected. You can't ask the boss of your company to be democratic if they do not want to be. It is a question of management style, rather than an abuse of the constitution or the law or the trust the people have placed in you.
Ramkalawan may be domineering, strong headed or has tried to get his own way within SNP as leader. But he will not be an autocratic president.
An autocracy is a country governed by a single person with unlimited power.
After 34 years of unbroken SPPF and PL rule, Ramkalawan will not be able to do as he pleases with the state media, judiciary, civil service, police, army, etc. There will be changes but it will take more than 5 years for any one to have complete personal control over all state institutions.
By contrast, Michel is already in the position of unlimited power (ignoring that he shares the power with Albert Rene).
The fear of an SNP autocracy is just a fear. Voters will have a chance to stop it in 2016 if it happens.
In 2011, we need to bring an end to the PL autocracy or dictatorship which we know is REAL.
Vote for your hope, not your fear. There is nothing to fear but fear itself, spread by the fear merchants in PL.
Let us not blur the differences between management style on the one hand and the duty to run the country in accordance with the constitution on the other. Ramkalawan will have less wiggle room than even Mancham had before the 1977 coup d'etat. That is why some of us want to see governments change democratically.
Have you cancelled your party membership ?
Leadership is important and Wavel has shown over and over again that he is not a leader for the masses, but a leader of a few followers such as Ferrari, Mancienne and Pierre who has just jumped ship. People follow leaders. Albert Rene was a leader whereas James Michel is not. Even Mancham was a leader at one point, whereas Paul Chow and Nicol Gabriel were not.
Seychellois voted for Wavel in the past because they had no choice. Either Michel or Wavel. This time around, Volcere and Boulle will get the votes of disgruntled voters from SNP and Lepep parties.
Let's be fair. It was Wavel that almost beat Albert Rene in 2001. Even Rene before the coup could not get the extra votes to take him over 50%. It was Mancham's money then. It is money now.
I am sure Parti Lepep can find space in their PPBs for someone tearing up their SNP membership card because someone on STAR got under his skin.
The defection of David Pierre shows that Parti Lepep is actively trying to sabotage SNP's campaign. So much for ethical political campaign -- it never had a chance.
It also undermines the case of those who say Wavel Ramkalawan is a sell-out. He is the one that can't be bought.
His salary and pension give him financial security and give us an assurance that he will not sell out to PL. It is obvious that PL would be prepared to pay good money to buy him off before 21 May.
Once again, Ramkalawan shows that he is a strong leader, able to stand up to those who would put their personal interests above that of the party. It is better for him to go into this election as a strong and focused leader, than a wishy-washy leader who allows himself to be pulled into a dozen directions by others.
Defection of David Pierre is too good to be true. I hope that Mr Ferrari would stop insulting Mr Gill because the defection of David Pierre might prove very fatal to SNP if the Seychelloise voters do not open their eyes. What SNP need to do is a lot of damaged control and possibly spill the bean of the main reasons for that defection. If they can convince the electorate that this was done out of greed they stand a better chance in that election. And remember David Pierre was an SNP insider and all their election strategies will be revealed by David Pierre. This is a testing time for Wavel leadership and by uniting the opposition should now be an option for him just before the election and his game plan needs to be modified in the presence situation.Only time will tell whether David Pierre's defection could influence the voters. He his a good orator and intelligent as well but he has a lot of skeleton in his closet that has need to remove.
Anyway we are born free to make our own choices. The bad karma is getting back to Stubborn leaders who is not open to good ideas. So lesson to be learnt in SEYCHELLES POLITIC. It looks like we are going to endure another five years of dictorship, oppressions, using the social sercurity funds to fund private businesses and five more years of Arabs domination.
People either want change or they don't. Ramkalawan can't force it down their throats. In his PPB he is already indicating this is his last attempt. Then the opposition will be back to square 1 while a new leader takes years to build up support.
Did I hear right that Alain St Ange is in Parti Lepep's PPB endorsing Michel, together with Albert Rene ?
This election was on a knife-edge, without the traitors trying to bring the house down. Let us hope voters vote for a new kind of politics for once.
This election will be known for its opportunists.
It is a real shame that David Pierre has made himself the "joker" in this election. I suppose SNP could playback to James Michel what David Pierre had to say about his government at the last State of the Nation address. I did not hear it, but he is normally very good. If David Pierre is credible and right now, he must have been credible and right before.
If Michel wins and he keeps his promises to SNP defectors, there won't be much room left in his government for PL supporters. Food for thought for them.
Isn't David Pierre the one who shouted "kapon" when James Michel sacked the National Assembly at the end of his address in 2007 ? I can't see him forgetting and forgiving that after he has won.
His timing sucks. But better now than nearer the election dates.
David Pierre cut a sorry and lonely figure on SBC tonight, being interviewed in a playing field. It was of course headline news -- a free PPB for Parti Lepep. I can't believe that Michel had nothing to do for SBC cameras today. Prompted by SBC why now, he says he is resigning over recent internal party structures issues -- is that code for being passed over for vice presidential nominee ? He says he is retiring from politics -- do we believe him ? If he keeps his promise before the elections, he might just repair some of the damage he has done to his reputation. He does not really want to be tagged as a traitor in his professional life. His leadership stock, which was promising, has taken a battering. It is a shame -- a potential future leader for the country bites the dust. Felled down by pique and impatience it would seem. You have to look at him in a different light now.
A setback. But SNP must now treat this as yesterday's news and carry on with the campaign which we know was not going to be easy. You can always rely on Annette Georges to come to the party's aid in an hour of need.
This election is still on a knife-edge. Otherwise people would not be trying to derail SNP's campaign.
Come on people, get real! Why all these excuses about people being bought bla..bla bla!! Can't we just accept that there's problem within the SNP and like I stated before Ramkalawan is not presidential material. One cannot take about democracy and then nominates himself as presidential candidate after losing three previous presidential elections...something is not right here!! I'm sure that David Pierre and Davidson Barra Knows better than us...
A party convention nominated the SNP presidential and vice presidential candidates. Anyone coud have challenged Ramkalawan at that convention.
James Michel is behaving like one of these corrupt African or Former USSR republic leaders buying off opposition supporters to weaken the opposition.
I notice no one is praising democracy in Seychelles in PL's PPB. It is not an issue. Danny Faure listed James Michel's leadership qualities. A democratic leader -- that was not on his list. Telling !!
Yep. It was too much to expect Alain St Ange to ignore the trappings of power and stick to his professed principles. He has chosen the 2011 election to announce he is back in SPPF and Lepep. If Michel wins, there will be St Ange, Sinon and Adam in the cabinet. What we need is a Rene to complete the sense of deja vu. We can't say we don't know what Judases look like.
i just hope that David Pierre keep his mouth shut and he does try to sabotage the opposition campaign. food for thought for other people who think to run political parties. Please do not profess democracy, live democracy and have democratic structures that really reflect democracy. Saying that anyone could have challenged Wavel in his party convention is a too simplistic ideas. Is there truly democratic structures that enable any member to challenge his leadership throughout the four years without recupercussion. This we need answers. Unless thing changed these defection will creat lots of confusion in the minds of people because there are too much secrecy and vested personal interest to be an icon rather than to be a leader to lead a nation.
Lekel ki kapab dir ki lanmans pwalon pa so pour Leader of the Opposition ?
All this says a lot about "principles". We tend to profess and shout about them from the roof-top but at the end of the day, with the right price, we quickly forget about them. It's clearly true for the likes of Alain St Ange, Derek Savy, David Pierre and countless others. "Opportunists" ring true here. Not that Ramka is blameless in all this. And of course, James Misel and Lepep are there like the crows they've always been, ready to pounce. Good luck to one and all.
The seeds of division have been planted by Ramkalawan himself.
The seeds of sell outs have been planted by himself.
Who taught SNP to look out after themselves individually and the cause take the warm up bench?
Who told St. Ange, there was no room for him in SNP to sink or swim? I do not agree with what St. Ange did in the PPB. It is a shameful act after he relied on the confidence of the Trade, to get to STB,he should not have delved in politics.By doing so, he has greatly compromised his position and the future of Tourism in Seychelles.
SNP is full of sell outs!
They divided the opposition, and when Ramkalawan, Ferrari, Mancienne did that, they lost the moral fiber to keep the opposition rank and file on track.
Leadership without a moral compass, is what we are facing.
A party in power can have no moral compass and survive for a time, but an opposition led by a priest, wihtout moral compass is fatal.
Yes it is pathetic! But is it too late? No. It is never too late to unify the opposition.
No matter what these carpet baggers have been paid, it does not change the fact that Seychelles is still BANKRUPT under Michel, and IMF still calls the shots. Seychellois are still getting poorer and poorer everyday, and the Arabs are getting a deal of a life time as Michel under sells our patrimony.

Those deffectors are spreading confusion within SNP camp, and paving the path for SNP defeat. In fact RAM is already lost the first roundbefore he even cast his vote.He still hase one change left to reverse the situation and that is simply by UNIFYING the opposition now.If he does not he will experience a historical defeat which will probably send his into ploitical isolation.Do the right thing RAm get the opposition unite now.

Do the right thing RAm-unite the oppostion now
I hope Viral Dhanjee takes Gappy, Morin and Govinden to court. But then, I am sure James and Albert have already briefed the Judges to dismiss the case. That is democracy according to James Michel and Party lepep.
As for uniting the opposition, Wavel cannot do it and will not do so anyhow. His ego is too big. SNP has not worked for the people of Seychelles for 5 years and have worked for their pockets. David Pierre resigns from the National Assembly and still collects a nice pension every month for life. What about us, the people paying the taxes? Do we get a free pay cheque every month? Sadly, this is what Wavel and the SNP members voted for, and now we the public are paying for those foolish decisions while the SNP members and their Party lepep gangsters also collect their fat pension every month.
I am voting for Volcere because he is the only one who has tried to take the SNP and Party Lepep to task. Week after week, the Nouveau Weekly has brought out corruption stories about James Michel and his party. What did the Regar discover and print in the past 5 years, apart from Leo the Turtle gossip stories? Wavel, Jean Francois, Mancienne, George ek SNP in les nou tou tombe.
Dirty politics, money, Arabs adn gangsters, mafia, passport sale, Ramados casino money, drugs, guns, murders, SBC-TV and Nation newspaper, corruption are all part and parcel of the Party Lepep and James Michel's arsenal. Rene taught him well and I expect that they will win again by a majority while SNP will be confined to the dustbin of Seychelles Political History.
See you all again in 2016 or 2020. Ale sesel
I could not agree more that Ram has another potent card left for him to play but he has to swallow his pride and extent an olive branch to his true friends in the opposition who has been trying hard to get him to reflect on what he has been doing. After all it will not be Christopher Gill who will cost him an election victory but people he has trusted all over the years like David Pierre, Dereck Savy , Alain St-Ange . Allow he has to realise that people who tell you right in your face that you are wrong are people whom you can trust rather than those who tell you what you want to hear. Please unite the opposition this is one of the most honourable thing you can do Mr Ramkalawan. Ferrari should learn a big lesson from that insulting, villifying, and name calling people with an oppossing view is wrong. Mr Gill crossed the floor but he had never campaign for SPPF in an political campaign like these SNP supporters are doing right now. Humility, respect and principles are three of the ingredients needed to build a solid opposition. SNP has not lost the election but these defections are weakening them. Please change your strategy unite the opposition before the 21st of May.
Ramkalawan can unite the opposition against lepep party. All he has to do is send out a press release to state his real intentions, that is, to remove James Michel from power at all costs. If that means giving up his own seat in the Assembly, then he needs to offer the olive branch to people like Volcere, Frank Elizabeth, George Bibi and all the other people he has alienated in the past decade.
Then people would see him as a statesman rather than a short-sighted politician who only wanted to fill his own pocket.
My advice to Ramkalawan is to stick to his current strategy. No wobble because that is what PL is trying to engineer. There is no evidence that a united opposition is a game changer because there is still no evidence that Volcere or Boulle has significant support. If there is a second round, then he should cross that bridge then.
David Pierre has provided Ramkalawan with an opportunity to show that he is a strong leader, can take tough decisions and when the going gets tough the tough get going. It is the same mettle that made him stand in that pulpit to denounce the one-party state sufferings. This is proving that he is no sell-out and that he can take the heat. All his critics answered. As Obama says, don't let a good crisis go to waste.
It does not seem like Parti Lepep actively enticed David Pierre to leave (I may be wrong). I say this because it seems PL had no control over the timing. Otherwise they could have 'outted' St Ange on a different day. It did not seem like good campaign strategy to have 2 big stories on the same day. But David Pierre has clearly timed his exit to inflict maximum damage on SNP's electoral chances and to maximise his value to PL. That was vicious and vindictive and will scar him for life. To his credit, he has not openly endorsed any other party and it is pure speculation as to how PL will reward him. SBC did not quite get him to unburden himself to them in that plain. Any further denouncement of SNP will sound like the man has been bought to speak out.
Those who have been close to SNP leaders have their own particular axe to grind about party structures, but that is not something that exercises the mind of the average voter.
The idea that SNP voters will desert the party because of David Pierre's resignation is not well-founded. He was not able to defeat Ginette Gamatis in Port Glaud. He is brainy, but he does not have Ramkalawan's popular appeal which saw him take St Louis and then Anse Etoile.
The voters that will determine the outcome do not care about democracy. They care about bread and butter issues and the cost and their standard of living generally, hence why they are susceptible to electoral bribes. Those who understand that a democratic society is better able to respond to the needs of its citizens should spend their time convincing these people of the need for change, rather than quibble about how SNP's internal structures work. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water. I should really find another way to put this, given our water predicament and empty baths.
Finally, James Michel is sailing close to the wind in these elections. If he tries to use his war chest full with money from whatever sources it comes from, to weaken the SNP leadership's capacity to conduct a campaign and deny voters the right to make their own choices, his election will not be credible. He must know that. He must play the ball not the man. Then again, Seychellois who care about the kind of country they want to live in can teach him that lesson on 19-21 May quietly.
Look at the bright side of things:
Now Ramkalifa has a scape goat to blame for his coming defeat in the 2011 election, i.e in form of David Pierre. Now he is assured a seat for another 5 years at assembly where he can rule his little green kingdom from before he can collect his fat pension and finally go plant bananas. Nothing better than that right?

Alain St Ange has betrayed quite a lot of people in joining PL. He should know he can't become a PL minister without being a PL politician. Karl must be spinning in his grave.
I wrote months ago that St Ange should make up his mind whether he wanted to promote Michel or promote tourism. He was already crossing the line. Christopher Gill replied that St Ange had been sent there by the trade. I was relying on the St Ange honour for Alain to at least sit on the fence for this election.
St Ange has betrayed the tourism industry. The idea that the tourism industry should belong to all of us and be above party politics -- a key reason for the success of the carnival -- is now dead as a dodo. The trade is still in the doldrums despite the propaganda.
Who's the party of Gran Blan now ?
The scapegoats are lining up like ducks in a row, if they are needed of course.
Correction. Derek Savy Author of State House any time now satire and other articles on STAR blog left MSR to join Lepep. En lot kinn vann son nanm pou en pti mwenza
Yes I did say Alain was sent to STB by the SHTA or the Trade.
I was utterly shocked myself to see Alain allow himself and the Trade to be used in such a manner, like a rag to mop up Michel's grand failures.
I do not know why he did it. He did not speak to me about the affair.
As with all others who make this move in these troubled times of desperation as the ship of state takes water under national bankruptcy and people have no answers, I ask that all Seselwa, pray for Alain St. Ange, as you would for Davidson Barra, and David Pierre, and everyone else doing these senseless PPB that distract from the real pressing national issues.
Thos SNP Trolls sent to blame me for this by Ferrari can only blame their own leadership for such failures.
Real political power rests not in gold diamonds or the gun, it rests in the moral authority of a leader.
For Mr. Ramkalawan, it is not looking good after he failed to unite the opposition as he promised me he would.
It is not too late to sit down and discuss things. It's not over until the fat lady sings!
But she is warming her voice chords right now!
I trust these people who are good people, will see it in their hearts that Ramkalawan was not the cause, all along. It was Seychelles. She is the cause. As you give your prepped speeches over Ramkalawan's faults, she cries.

RAM not to loose face will put the blame on others of his defeat, but all persons with common sense knows from the beginning that RAM decision to go it alone was in fact digging his own grave.Pp will surely use the likes of Pierre and others as a tool to discredit RAM .And those floor crossings are also diverting attention on the real issues in this campaign which surely benefit PP.It is sad to see how a half brain communist can brain'washed well'educated people to such extent and what we the voters can take as conclusion from all that is those guys like Pierre cannot be trust and should never be taken seriously.

The nature of leadership is that the leader take the blame for party fall out.
The longer one prolongs the assumption of responsibility, the more they take the Public for fools the faster the landslide envelopes the party.
If you are in power, you can do what SPPF does : shoot your critics.
In opposition you need to implement what you preach "real democracy" and stop scamming if it has not consumed your blood.
Unfortunately for SNP, it is late. In one PPB they discussed Sesel Pou Seselwa as if it was their idea, after attacking MSR for 1 year over the issue they act like they are smart and slick and hijack the theme without giving credit to the person and group that revived it from their deep sleep.
This shows the slick attitude and smart aleck ways of SNP has not changed yet. In the 21 century, they will not survive with this 1960's approach to doing things.
Today you must be righteous in thought and action to take on evil!

If you are in power, you defend your record.
It is fair game to buy off disgruntled former SNP members/activists for appearance in PPBs etc.
It is totally different for PL to buy off the leaders during a campaign because this raises the question whether the election was credible.
The fact that Michel is dirtying his hands further to win, shows that he is far from convinced that this election is in the bag.
I would agree with the last comment Michel by buying leaders from SNP really shows that he is desperate to win the election at all cost and interestingly enough with what he is not certain that he will win that election. I mean to cause defection of David Pierre just during an election campaign must cost a fortune. I bet it is not the usual bottle of baka or a beer or a take away that is reserved for the diehard supporters who will be dancing in the blazing sun. But i still believe that SNP needs to extend an olive branch to the other member of the opposition just for damage control because having different oppositions allow the opposition more air time during PPBs to really bash the SPPF regime for the direction that they are taking the Seychelles. The defection of David Pierre will just show people how the SPPF uses them only during election time with a few rupees and then dish them for 4 years.I assummed that David has not declared his allegiance publically to LP because he knows that people is looking at him as a traitor and i am afraid that all the respect that he has earned over the years is now in a pit lathrine somewhere at POrt Glaud were he failed as a politician.
In all these confusion it is still important for SNP to enter into a constructive dialogue with other members of the opposition to ensure that there is no further damage so that they can remain focus and assured that the opposition would not exploit that situation. Michel can still lose this election with all his evil ways to buy voters. what a sham election is turning out to be? I could agree more with Christopher.
Michel is no doubt feeling the heat and still not sure of victory, but at least he has a plan namely braining-washing and buying the souls of those mentally weak opportunists. We warn RAM not to go up the blind alley and stop being a stooge of PP for years now,but for strange reason RAM decided to do it his own way,it was his way or the highway.I deeply hope RAM will act rapidly in order to both save face and hope for victory by immediately joining with VOLCERE who has shown great campaigning ability in order to depose PP.That is the only option left for the oppostion should they dream of victory otherwise Pp will crush them like antes.
Jeanne D'Arc
Sesel pou Seselwa was started by Guy Sinon and Albert Rene. Even Christopher acknowledges that. SNP's PPB did give acknowledgement to Albert Rene. It is an important point to make. It demolishes the charge of xenophobia as a credible charge in the eyes of PL supporters and illustrates that it is James Michel who has changed and is now selling out the country.
It does not have the same appeal to attribute it to Christopher Gill, even if it were true !
A Party in power for 34 years does not resort to tactics out of desperation. Stop fooling ourselves.
A Party in power for 34 years has money to pay for its election program.
What is happening is all a systematic Gilbert Pool strategy being implemented.
Pool was brought in to save Michel, after his people like JP ADAM and Barry Faure, Sarjana were out of their league after JJ Spirit ended up being just a lame talent show for people desparate for money.
What Pool brings to the table is the invincible assets, which he can see but most average people do not see. You may not like him, but you should respect him for what he sees that most people cannot.
The invincible asset is moral authority. He knows how to play it in the hearts and minds of the average Seychellois.
SNP does not have a clue what that is. That is why they lose elections time after time and dismiss the need for unity in rank and file of the opposition.
Moral authority is invincible, but you can run a country on it, even if you are absent for months at a time.
You can trust people because it Lords over all if you have it. Without it, you can trust no one, and you can leave nothing to anyone... to do.
Without it, you will be duped, because you asked for it.
The sooner steps are taken for an opposition conference to unite the opposition and drop some of these seedy candidates, the sooner we will be able to take PL out.
What is obvious is SNP after 17 years of opposition still has a novice mentality of a bunch of 17 year olds in politics and these guys are now pushing 65 and most are already over the hill except for Wavel at 50. Time is ticking on us, while SNP muddles about as usual.

Alain St. Ange has sold out to lepep party hoping that he will be rewarded as the new Minister of Tourism. At least that's the carrot James Michel is dangling in front of him. Poor Alain. He has not learned his lesson of the past. He has not learned anything from Bom Carl who must be twisting with rage in his La Digue coffin.
Tourism and the carnival will now be more political than ever. Alain, you have let all your SHTA colleagues down and what you did last night was a shameful act of treason on par with Albert's coup d'etat. Shameful and non-forgiving.
Sese pou Seselwa is A fact .we are Seselwa and we are beucase Seychelles is our country and that why we are called Seselwa. IF one knows what sovereignty is then thing should be clear and tacit and you will automatically support MSR position ,but if you are ignorant like Michel then you will support Pp position and find it normal in particiapting in the dishing of our patrimony to foreigners ,it is simply as that.

The action of St Ange and others teaches us one thing ,that they are all concern of their ownselves and do not take a damn of the suffering of their people and the chaotic situation the country is in.How can someone with common sense support such traitors. We would have to expose all of those faked creatures and let Seychellois know that such creatures have nothing to offer seychellois than more poverty, more selling of our patrimony and division among seychellois.
We also have the power to change thing without those selfish politician ,we can do that by taking to the streets like the Eygptian,Tunisian and others.Let no depend on those faked creatures for change they are not interested in you the people but in their own grred.

Totally shocked at St. Ange's endorsement of James Michel last night. What is wrong with the people of this country? Do they believe money can buy democracy and a better future for their children? Do they really believe that Michel is the best President for Seychelles? After more than 3 decades of SFFP rule, this country is going backwards. We are fiscally bankrupt and our grandchildren and their children will end up paying the debts of Albert Rene and James Michel while their own children will enjoy the stolen funds from their overseas accounts. Young University graduates with so much potential like Daniel Adrienne are committing suicide, our children re on drugs and others prostituting themselves, Arabs are buying up all our beaches and hilltops, and then add all the corruption from Changleng to Savy to Adam to Ramadoss, and one really dries for our country.
WHY DAVID PIERRE QUIT SNP?
Do he has a feeling that RAM are not doing nothing for change and also a man don't know how to do also if he will be President?
SESELWA BOYCOTT THIS ELECTION.
No Pierre left becuase Michel has probably offered him lots of money obtained form Khalifa and probably a ministerial post.If it was about the person of RAM he could has pressured him to change first but there was nothing of that kind,so we can only speculate that it is becuase of self interest.

RAM must react quickly and stop bragging his feet otherwise he suffer historical defeat and will lost all credibility.

Why don't you just shut up. You're always talking of taking to the streets but you NEVER do it. So, come up with something else or simply shut the F**k up! You are becoming too boring! Get real, you do not represent the majority of Seychellois in this country. Call me whatever you want, but I think you should get real..!!
Do you really think Seychellois will vote for "moral authority" if there is no money and loadsamoney involved.
The only PL strategy I can see is to buy off voters. The savvy voters are also asking for the goods or cash upfront, because they have no faith in Michel to pay up afterwards.
If Michel wins, it will be simply because he had big money to give, including the country's own money and assets.
David Pierre would fool himself. If he had any disagreement with the SNP leadership he could have waited after the election. His move was well executed and SPPF was pulling the string behind the curtain. As simple as that David was bought by SPPF for money. It is shameful for people who consider themself intelligent but yet could not their intellectual mind to generate wealth but instead has to resort to prostitution to make end meet. What about the ordinary people who are sweat for Rs2000 per month. After seveeteen years of barking at the wrong tree do not tell me that David Pierre is broke.
Can you prove that David Pierre got any money? Why make such allegations? Why can't we simply accept that there must be something wrong within the SNP structure? Too many excuses...If we want to make a change we should look at ourselves and make that change..!!
But don't go betting any money that he did PL a huge favour for nothing.
Alain St Ange's action does not surprise me one bit. An opportunist always an opportunist.
Ditto for David Pierre. Where ther's money or promises of positions they suddenly forget all their high so-called "principles". This is what awaits us for the next 5 years if James Michel is elected.
A very depressing thought indeed....
Since last year I alerted about the the actions of St Ange. Of course he is free to do what he likes and we cannot do anything about it, however detecting what is about to enfold is part of the game.
C. G you told us to leave St Ange alone. I can pull up the debate on the issue, but it does not matter anymore. Maybe you were thinking the best from him, but in reality power and money is the root of all evil for men without a backbone.
How the likes of Pierre and St Ange look at themselves in the mirror, I do not know. They will be used and abused and when James Michel is done with them, sat maron pa pou oule sis zot lezo.

I agree with SNP apologist, it does not appear SPPF had full control over Pierre resignation and it is not obvious that he and what kind of deal he cut with the SPPF. What is true is this resignation could not have worse timing for Ramkalawan, i never beleieved he had any chance of winning but now his chances are below the nil barrier. I also agree again with SNP apologis that the masses are not concerend with democracy/human rights issues. That has been my thought all along. The SNP Leaders are only just now warming up to that reality (as they are now widely using Information tech, when this had been ridiculed by same SNP hardcore some time back as this not being an important tool of communication, Ramkaalwan in his spot recently ended by asking people to view the internet web page) BUT there is a group of the electorate where democracy are their core fundamental beleifs. I personally think even if the masses do not really care about issues of democracy, without that any opposition party is ever likely to defeat the SPPF. The simple fact is that internal democracy allows the masses to take ownership of the party, they are less likely to be swayed by money because they feel the party is theirs. This is not the case with the SNP presently where the party is essentially owned by Ramkalawan (and 3/4 other people).
The resignation of David Pierre and Barra a few days before is proof that a good chunck of those in the Ramkalawan inner sanctum of the SNP do not beleieve that he will win this election- otherwise (especially Pierre) would have stuck around to benefit of the change, that is assuming as being said by SNP apologists thst Pierre was motivated by greed.
For there to be any chnage, the opposition needs a clean slate. It is clear from my discussions with opposition leaders (except for Ralph Volcere who thinks he has the wind in his sail so much that he is to my great surprise not attacking Ramkalawan/SNP at all in its PBBs, i am sure if this sign of a grandeur d esprit or over confidence), the SNP leaders especially are tired and out of steam. Even Ramkalawan's spots appear dejected, the last 5 TV spots appear to have been shot at night or with extremely bad light, and a message which is unclear about those who have recently left him. Other than Alain St Ange, neither Pierre nor Barra have told people to vote SPPF/PL, what they say is that not to vote for the SNP, we can read from that a vote for other opposition candidates!
Vox
I just wish to add a little something on the issue of trust. Ramkalawan was wrong to trust people who whispered sweet words in his ears and disgard people who told him to his face what they thought is wrong. If i were him i would choose someone who told me things point blank, i listen, weight the pros and cons, make a decision and move on. I read above that departure of Pierre makes Ramkalawan a strong leader, what bollocks. Pierre resigned. He slammed the door, so did Barra and others who have left before. Ramkalawan never once initiated any discplinary action against any of its members, to the contrary he still keeps B Georges around for instance, it well known that Georges has stolen and is still doing so of many clients. Ramkalawan has himself intervened at least once (i know of this case personally and i thank him for doing so) but there are many are still suffereing. A strong leader would have called Georges to order and deal with him. That is honesty and strong leadership.
I fear that there are a few opportunist that remains in the inner circle. It is not people who write on blogs, speck their mind or Christopher Gill that he should be warry about, maybe they do so because they have no choice since there is no democracy in the SNP it is those that sits next to him (ex David Pierre), those that whispers in his ears that he should be careful on. I write this especially of SNP apologist, i have an idea of who you are mate, i fear you are one that has a dagger in his hand, waiting for an opportunity to strike!

Reply to savvy voters-
You sound like a sell out yourself!
Though you have traces of intelligence in your tone, you miss understanding what Moral Authority is.
It is a bond that keeps together all elements of an organization, because the leadership is trusted and held in high regard.
From the PPB it is clear that neither Ramkalawan understands this or James Michel.
Michel for his part is buying out people unhappy with Ramkalawan.
Ramkalawan, seeks endorsements from those who have been left to the road side to die off under the system.
Both are signs of desperation born out of failure.
The comment that made a verbal attack on Jean D'Arc to defend SNP- when you resort to such tactics, you hurt your cause and you expose yourself as lacking moral authority to run the country.
Please reconsider this posture you have resorted to. If you cannot reconcile my advise with your actions, do us a favor and try to not place a comment if it is not positive in spirit.
Sesel Pou Seselwa!

To Anonymous above who stated that Sesel Pou Seselwa was started by Rene and Sinon. You are incorrect. The idea of Seychelles Pou Seychellois was born in 1964 with the founding of the SPUP by Rene the Butcher, my late Father Peter Gill and the late Philibert Loizeau.
This slogan, Seychelles Pou Seychellois was the battle cry of those who wanted our country to be free from British colonization and for us Rasin to be identified as a distinct indigenous people of our land and the sole owners of our homeland Sesel. These principles were betrayed by the Butcher and subsequently by his student Michel the Collaborator.
However, all us Rasin owe a debt of gratitude to my brother Christopher Gill for raising the discarded and abused founding principle of our motherland - Sesel Pou Seselwa. While Christopher did not create the idea of we Seselwa as an independent people he has been the most recent and most stalwart defender of the idea. We owe him nothing but gratitude for this difficult effort.
I also disagree with you that just because Christopher champions the idea of Sesel Pou Seselwa it has less appeal. This idea of Sesel Pou Seselwa is not personality based. We in MSR do not follow people. We follow ideas. If the wrong people have the right idea we will agree with them and follow them. If the right people have the wrong idea we will oppose them and find better leaders.
At the moment I find no better standard bearer and defender of the ideas of Sesel Pou Seselwa than Christopher. In my opinion he brings us Rasin great pride. We need more like him who will stand up and be counted and defend our patrimony for the Collaborators.
Sesel Pou Seselwa Rasin in 1964, Sesel Pou Seselwa Rasin Now and Sesel Pou Seselwa Rasin Forever.
I am still waiting to see some action from MSR in support of the boycott. Do we boycott the election and then spend the next 5 years complaining and criticising on STAR.
MSR's boycott strategy is something like the Charge of the Light Brigade which incidentally suffered from communication problems and blundering too.
Vox refers to SNP apologist and the post I made. The cap fits and I will wear it gladly. I know he is only giving out green caps, faded green but green nonetheless ! If you were to draw up a list of 25 potential names, I will not be on the list. You could not possibly know who I am. Your finger-pointing idea is wrong. If you can count beyond 25, let me know and I shall tell you how long your list has to be before I feature on it.
I would happily write to support Boulle or Volcere, if I thought they were our principal hope against PL. There is little to choose between the 3 opposition candidates, except that Ramkalawan is the only hope we have this time around.
I do have an issue with Boulle and it is perhaps an issue that I share with the less enlightened PL supporters. Boulle was once the UO candidate and expected us to support him. It seems he does not want to support anybody else. It is the same attitude in some people that sees people like St Ange yoyo-ing between political parties -- they think they have a right to lead.
Your comments about Boulle and UO are unfounded. Boulle saw it long before others saw it. Maybe you should ask the greens, especially Annette George why he left the UO. Be grateful he did not turn out to be a David Pierre or Davidson Barra. Do not be scared to look further than your nose.
When will James Michel learn . he says:
“In the past we have relied too heavily on grants and international development finance. We must reduce this dependence and stand on our own, he says, in his manifesto which is entitled, My plan for you.
1. Is he standing on his own since the bancruptcy. No. He is standing on Kalifa.
2. 'My Plan for you' Wake up Michel. Your plan has never worked and the problem is that IT IS YOUR PLAN FOR US. IT IS ABOUT YOU. NOT US. If you were real you would have said. 'OUR PLAN FOR SEYCHELLES'. Please go and do your homework again. Perhaps throw all the manifesto in the river or burn them as they only fit to countries like north Korea, China and Cuba.
To Christo, Leonard, Zandark, JP (Jet Fighter Pilot) and the clan.
1. Why do you spend the entirety of your day typing the same bollocks on a website that only you and your handful of supporters actually look at. You do realize that you are all just 'anonymous-ing' each other.
2. Your great at critizing everybody Gill, so why not provide us with a 9 page document on how you intend to run the country better because from what I have seen you have offered very little.
3. Instead of writing copious amounts of drivel that seldomly have relevant points. Why don't you hold a rally, or a forum or something of the like so people can come and have their say like a man and not hide online like a little child?
4. It makes no differnece that you were excluded from the election to 99.99% of seychellois. You have not made a phycial presence anywhere whatsoever!!!
I remain to see if you remain so pasionate in the next five years and also to see IF YOU CAN ACTUALLY ANSWER MY QUESTIONS!!!
PS Everyone knows Zandark is your jet fighter pilot buddy!!! He is a moron!!!

Vox,
I love your comments which usually make a lot of sense. However, I disagree with one of the points you just made.
You state that someone (an opportunist) is waiting with dagger in hand to stab Wavel. Sadly, there is no one left (a la Brutus) to stab Caesar (Wavel), as Caesar has already committed suicide and stabbed himself several times during the past 5 years. In fact, Wavel is bleeding to death as we speak and come May 22nd, the church bells will start ringing for his funeral as he stabs himself in the heart for the last time; that is, right after he has voted for James Michel.
Traitors and opportunists can be found in both camps. The difference is that in the SPPF Camp, if you do leave, you never run to your opponent. You just shut up and ride off into the sunset a la Ferrari, Ogilvy Berlouis, Hodoul, Sinon, Herminie, Dolor et al...), and usually, you are pretty well off and live happily off the system or what you have stolen. In the SNP camp however, when they do cross the floor, they end up becoming very poor martyrs. Who will remember the good that David Pierre or Alain St. Ange have done in a few years? We will all remember that they were traitors, and the SPPF clan will simply laugh at them.
Come May 23rd, we will all go back to work dejected that nothing has changed. We will complain and state that there was voter fraud, that the fat SPPF women and Albert Rene were riding in pickup trucks and jeeps and were intimidating voters, that the observers did not observe very well, that there will soon be a devaluation, that fuel and electricity prices are going to be increased, and that we are still bankrupt. In the end, status quo and the shock of facing 5 more years of James Michel will probably drive a few more to commit suicide or go on drugs just to get relief at the end of the day and forget the reality we face.
So for all of you bloggers who plan to vote for the corrupt, good for nothing James Michel, I ask you to go to church ro pray and to dig deeper into your conscience. If you are true to yourself, you will never vote for a corrupt murderer who has done more to harm our country than any other Seychellois citizen ever born; yes, even Albert Rene. Your conscience should tell you that Boulle, Volcere and even Ramkalawan would make a better president than Michel.
We the people of Seychelles deserve better. But WE must make the right choice of whether we want more of the same, or whether we want a real change.
99.9999999% on this blog will never vote for Michel that i have no doubt. But the point was if SNP had pressurized Gappy the stooge of Michel we could have had a fairer electoral process that would have guarantee the exit of Michel through the ballot box. SNP had compromised so much with Michel thinking that he would honored his promises and now we are in the same bullshit electoral process that may undermine the majority of the seychelloise aspirations. Yes i would not agree more that and these three candidate are better than Michel because all the three candidate have achieved more than the simple clerk of cable and wireless but Gappy would think otherwise.
I read the blogs for comic relief!! Thank you for your most dosile respone whoever you may be!

All this attack on Alain St. Ange - Could it be that we have been misled by PL, as to me it seemed that the comments by him emanated from an old interview made in the context of a tourism event. The way PL manipulates people and situations it is not impossible that they have also manipulated this without Alain having much to say about it......
I wish to thank the last blogger 'the one who disagree with vox' for his comments. However i will maintain my position. The worst is not over for Wavel. My point is that he should not be scared of those who speak their minds (if he is a democrat), he should have encouraged this practice. Unfortunately he has done the opposite and has distanced himself from people who dared 'criticise' him and cuddle those who whispered sweet words in his ears, some including SNP apologist have even gone to the extent of elevating him to the rank of Jesus, or Mandela...it is these people who are most dangerous, when they whisper they conive. David Pierre is a typical example. If he had a disagreement with Wavel syle of leadership (i do, i beleieve him to be autocratic and a dictator within his party, i do not beleive he respects the institution of the press and freedom of speech) he (meaning Pierre) should have resigned before not at the eve of an election, he did this with the aim of hurting Ramkalawan. Who do we blame? When these things happen the blame lays squarely at the feet of the Leader. Pierre was an appointed member of parliament, he was choosen by Ramkalawan (nobody had any say in this apptment), he alone shoulders the responsibility for choosing the wrong person! This reflects badly on his leadership quality (contrary to what some are saying)! Unfortunately there remains in the SNP Ex Co other David Pierre! Since none of them have been elected democratically their loyalty is not to the party or to the cause, when they fall out with the leader, they fall out with the party! Ramkalawan must go back to its source, have a look at the people who were prepared to stick their necks out in the 1990's, when it was still Parti Seselwa. Those are the people with conviction, with ethics and good will. For instance look at Gervais Henrie, was he prepared to take risks? Where was Henrie before being appointed as an MNA? He was never seen at an Party meeting Can you trust him? I am just using Henrie as an example i am not saying he is a traitor, but your true friends are those who were prepared to take risks when the going was tough! Not those who are there when for the good times. That is where Ramkalawan's mistakes lies! I fear and i know there are couple of snakes that are still cozying up in the SNP Ex Co, they are the same ones throwing stones at David Pierre!
SNP should be consilidating for beyond 2011, the Presidential and Assembly elections are over for the opposition!

It seems like xenophobia is a big word for Michel. Without his script and teleprompters he can't explain what it is. He said xenophobia is not liking some people. We are all xenophobes then, starting with him.
Why won't he mention his benefactors by name -- Sheikh Khalifa and United Arab Emirates -- rather than refer to them as "pei zanmi".
Chris you are our only hope. Please HELP us.
Seychellois needs a leader like you. We need your leadership. We need a leader that accepts that Sesel belong to Seselwa. HELP HELP please.
Re Alain St Ange -- post earlier today. It was a recent interview. He refers to the new hotel school as an achievement. He said it was his "desire", "sincere wish" to work with Michel in the coming years to finish the work that has started. Finishing the work that has been started is Michelspeak for this election. If he did not mean to appear in a PPB (he has yet to say that), it was careless and naive to say what he did in the run-up to the election. It is rank treachery and a betrayal of ordinary SNP supporters. His friends are now trying to salvage his honour.
Fortunately, there is no evidence that the treachery the party is facing is making the ordinary supporters waver. The silent majority will speak on 21 May.
What "honour" about Alain St Ange is there "to salvage"?? He knew very well what he was doing. This is a well-thought-out plan.Over the months he's been at STB, he's no doubt done a decent job, following in the footsteps of his predecessors. But the guy is power-hungry, publicity-hungry, ambitious and a first class opportunist. He has to be in EVERY PHOTO and, like James Michel, he's in love with himself. Indeed, Ton Karl must be turning in his grave.
Where is Stae House any time now. Vre Derek savy in vinn PL?
The explaination given by Michel on Racism shows clearly that this he just does not understand the meaning of the word.I did not heard him saying it personally but anyway the best way to understand Michel is not to listen to him.Whether it is St. Ange or Pierre those guys have just one thing in their head, self interest ,fame, and a good position in order to steal from the people. What is good in all that is the fact that we can indetify who are those really interesting in the welfare of their people(patriots) and who are those collaboring in the selling of our patrimony to foreigners(traitors). They should know that one day they would be hold accountable for their acts.

Derek Savy is another one. It'll be clearer with time what he's been promised in STB or Air Seychelles. Elsia Grandcourt better watch her posterior. She's not a bright bulb anyways. The case of St Ange, Pierre, Derek and others prove only one thing: people will pretend to be "fighting" for principles, justice, democracy, and all for as long as they've not feathered their nest. This will be an encouragement for everyone. If you want to be bought, scream and write against Michel and his clowns. You'll soon be OK.
I really hope that Dereck Savy has not fliped over to lepep.Surely he is smart enough to know that Michel and Gilbert Pool will use every trick in the book to get people like him to speak out and then once the eletion is over he will be discarded to the side and be made a laughing stock for the likes of Marielise Potter. Same for Ste.Ange, Pierre and others who are jumping ship. Lepep will not chnange its spots.
And then we blame en pti seychellois who takes a fey tol, a fridge etc, when those who were supposed to be the great advocates of change and democracy have allowed their souls to be bought!!!
Derek Savy? Just check James Michel's profile on FB and you will see what camp he is in....
They are using the country's resources to attract high profile opposition supporters. A tiny few will gain. We should be clear that these people are motivated by self-interest.
The vast majority will suffer, as they are the ones who will suffer from the misuse of the country's limited resources. They should let Michel know what they think about using the country's resources to reward those selfish people that he has attracted to PL -- on 21 May 2011.
I hope Christopher Gill now knows what a sell-out is, as he looks at those who have deserted the opposition including MSR to support PL's campaign. Could it be that a few have believed his propaganda against Ramkalawan ?
Calling the man who is leading the fight against PL under difficult circumstances a sell-out lacks credibility.
These guys are bunch of yo'yos-They are switching other their principles for the sake personal greed.A strife of interests masquerading as a content of principles.

These defectors are simple men with an unstable morale compass because they have deviated completely from the path that they had been professed was the right path. For Mr Pierre through the grape vine i heard that he said that he was fed up with the SNP leaders. If that was his justification why he committed the act of treason? The question is why at election time? And why he decided to create a media circus to announce that he was abondoning the ship. The leader of SNP have his short coming but is that a human way to treat someone who had given you the opportunity to make a name in politics even after failing to get a seat in the assembly on two parliamentary elections. This guy would never earn any respect from members of SNP and nor LEPEP members he would always be seen as an outcast wherever he goes. He had committed political suicide. Even if he gets his big post with LEPEP his conscience if he has will come back and haunt him.A lot of these politicians that we have in Seychelles do not have a morale compass and if they do they do not have the slightest idea where they want to lead the nation. The leader of SNP the great advocate of democracy was very happy to see the SPPF/LEPEP stumping on the democratics rights of Mr Gill in order not to get his party to register. He remained very silent about the situation thinking that the olive branch that Michel has extended to him is genuine. Now he has seen that this branch was infact a very torny rose branch. So what we need in SEYCHELLES are politician with morale compass that will not be swayed by money, priviledges, life of abundance but politicians who is committed to work for the people of seychelles. Politicians who are loyalt to the cause of his people. Not these politicians who is democratic only if they can get what they want and donot uphold the very fabric of democracy. We need politicians who are different from Michel/Rene/Faure and the others. I am afraid that right now there are very few and this is why this election could be very tricky.
Having said all these things i would urge every Seychellois to give Seychelles a new lease of life by vote an opposition candidate in order to create the momentum that if anybody want to take us for a ride we will boot them out after their mandate is over.
Bolot,
SPPF is not powerful if it was it would have conducted a free and fair election and won't be any need to buy votes, manipulate voters register lists or refused Mr Danjee and MSR the right to participate.
There is a way out of this vicious circle it is called people's power as you have seem in Egypt,Tunisia.RAM has a choice ,he can unite the opposition and call for a boycott for there is no need to participate in an election with foregone conclusion.Or he can keep dragging his feet and stay passive as he has been so far then he will get what he issearching for namely defeat. This is a case for RAM to prove to his supporters that he has leadership quality. So get to the stick RAM.

Get lost Bolot! As it has been said if SPPF was really strong. It would have had establish a true democracy in the Seychelles. Winning an election by trickery does not portray strength. It portray weaknesses and lack of leadership and true spirit of democracy. Just take a look at SPPF candidate do you really see strength is this kind of leader who is handing with his own nation to the most barbaric and undemocratic people in the whole world the Arabs. Just because he bankrupted his own country. Do you see strength in a leader who if his is elected will have a Arab military base in his own country to protect him and the new king of Seychelles. There is no strength in a leader who is the slave of an Arab ruler.this sort of leadership do not even exist in cuba or north korea. I am afraid if the Seychellois do not stop this madness we will cease to exist as a soveriegn nation and when we will demand our rights later on .We will be slaughtered like people in Syria, Lybia, Oman and Bahrain. If this is what we want a vote for SPPF would do just that.A true leader would surrender leadership to others if he cannot lead a nation. I am afraid the current one is just interested with the title of president and his record is plain to see that he cannot lead a country. If he had the Seychelles would be in a better shape than we are in right now without IMF running the show at the back stage.
I was merely trying to explain that SPPF is powerful by virtue of easy access to buy votes and corrupt the electorate. We have only seen the tip of the iceburg with the likes of Pierre, St Ange & Savy. SPPF are excellent strategiest....I am waiting for more defections to come forward over the next 2 weeks, Once again money talks !
Note, I am not a supporter of SPPF and I am not about to defect, I do have a morale compass, I know the difference between right and wrong.
I would rather die poor with a clear consience rather than die rich as a rich traitor like FAR, JAM, PIERRE and the rest..

Reply to credibility-
The whole issue of credibility is Ramkalawan's achilles heel. He has scammed money for 17 years in front of his apostles. They know the game he has been playing and the SNP develped of culture of skinning foriegn cats that come to Seychelles and milking the Government of Seychelles for their good sportsman like conduct since 2006 after the October 3rd.
So sell outs learned how to sell out from the leadership. Simple.
We must not castigate either Ramkalawan the person or all these sell outs. Pray for them. and seek a change in action from them.
PL has too many mouths to feed to keep these guys fed. So don't worry, they have just jumped into the loins mouth, not into his den when he keeps his stock of food.
Reply to State House spies-
We confirm from the information we have that D. Barra had been complaining about mistreatment, and money not being shared with him. He left SNP and went to Boulle. Boulle promised to help him with vehcile for campaign and other material wealth. It did not meet his requirements. He took what he knows and went to State House with it.
David Pierre situation is more complex. I have sent him a message on facebook, where he had 25 friends the last time I checked, he has not responded. I am waiting and will soon drop the story if he does not come clean as I have asked. In the meantime we must pray for David, and pray for Ramkalawan aswell, though we do not trust him, perhaps one day we will.
St Ange-it is clear they used the book kick off interview for a PPB. I spoke to him today, on business issues, and will address this concern when I next meet with him.
In the 21st century, nothing can be kept hidden. So it is the best policy to retain your integrity and keep on moving on a righteous path though we are human, we will fall, but we need to know it is also human to get back on our feet and keep moving in a positive manner.
Viral Dhanjee has a motion before the courts to STAY the elections. I was in court today to support him. I am sorry not one other opposition politician showed up aside.

Bolot - your assertion that SPPF are "good strategists" make me laugh. Take away the money, which clearly they have in abundance, show me their "strategy". Theirs is a sign of desperation. When they stare at defeat in the face, buy as many people as possible.James michel, even if he were elected, cannot do so with less votes than he got last time. It's a question of honour and pride for him. He has to deliver a convincing win. It won't happen. If he's elected, he'll be treading on egg shells for the next 5 years.
Christopher - You must be very gullible to believe that Alain St Ange did not know he was contributing a statement for Michel's PPB. Then you must be a fool as well. And what enthusiasm he showed! I've rarely seen him that passionate. What do you expect he's going to tell you when you meet him? Accept? If he was "tricked" as you guys seem to infer, ask him to come out with a public statement. Today. Before the elections. But you know, as much as I that he won't. He has to protect his position and the privilege that comes with it. The little respect that I had for him are gone. He may have his personal problems with Ramkalawan but the thousands who believed in him, me included, deserve better. He could have kept his mouth shut and be the "prfessional" he's always professed to be. SAD.
Is Alain St Ange accusing James Michel of deception and trickery ? James Michel should take note.
Christopher, there are times when I think you are two sandwiches short of a picnic. Why would other opposition figures turn up to support Viral Dhanjee ? A victory for Dhanjee will mean delaying the election and make it more expensive for them to fight it. It will give PL more time to buy off SNP supporters, if others jump on the bandwagon.
The Attorney General's office is up to their dirty tricks, by asking for an adjournment, knowing the elections start in less than 2 weeks.
The case resumes on Tuesday, but I fear that the Constitution (never mind the supreme court judges making up the Constitutional Court) is on Gappy's side.
The Constitution says that the presidential candidates must provide the required information "to the satisfaction of the Electoral Commissioner". Schedule 3, para 2(1)(a). That is very wide discretion given to one man. If Dhanjee did not fill in the forms properly (i.e. some NINs were wrong), it cannot be argued that he has complied with the requirements set down in the Constitution. Was the Electoral Commissioner acting unreasonably ? No -- given the timetable for the election which all candidates should have been aware of.
SNP wants an Electoral Commission, not all power vested in one man like Gappy. Why can't you support that and change Seychelles for the better, even if that change is brought about by people you call sell outs ?
Where does the Dhanjee case leave MSR ? You were advocating a boycott, but an MSR member wanted to stand and ask people to vote for him. What was all that about ?
Why was Dhanjee's side wasting time challenging representation by the Attorney General's office ? That is a separate issue altogether -- someone can bring a test case to find out if Gappy can be represented or advised by the Attorney General without compromising the independence of the Electoral Commissioner's office ?
Maldiven is on the street for revolution, soon will be Seychelles.
No matter what!if PP like it or shoot on us,time has come to get reed of corruption, dictators and a communist sytem.PP must go for good and for the buter for Seychelles and seselwa.

It is interesting to note how the Lepep vote buying system works! There is a lot of speculation about a lot of people on this blog. Whether it is Barra, Pierre, St. Ange, Savy etc...
But who knows what has really happened? St. Ange & Savy have always been great buddies. Barra was with Pierre at SNP. St. Ange was in the SNP camp!
At the end of the day, they all have a consience. We all know how manipulative the Lepep party can be. They can coerce people to talk about something and then make it part of a program.
At the end of the day, I do not think that these people are gullible enough to realise that a time for change is now and they will vote with their conscience.
All these people we are speculating about are intelligent and experienced enough to be part of any government and will help rebuild this country...
So don't lose hope on all of them!!
Embelling tax payers money to buy votes is not a strategy but theft.
it is true that whether Pierre,Savy and other deffectors are much more intelligent than our half brain President but that is where we all confuse and asking ourselves this simply question.how can such persons with good brain allow a half brain to the likes of Michel to brain-washed them and buy there souls?I do not think either though their intelligent and even if given they are given high position they would be able to put the intellect into practice ,becuase you must not forget in a communist system it is always the dear leader who make the call without his approval nothing is possible. And i do not think that a communist that bankrupted our economy, endure an astronomic debts on its people has any credibility whatsoever to be able do differently than its has for thirty-four years alone on power.Pp is bankrupted of ideas and it is not their criminal activities which would make a different.
My question is can we put our fate and confidence in the existing opposition to bring about change the people of this country want?So far nothing seems to prove that and the passivity of RAM to unite the opposition reconfirm this tendency. The only power that can bring about change to this country is the people thmeselves by using their legitimate rights of assembly to do that.

is "gullible". You are wrong, I am not gullible. I have seen the St. Ange move coming for a long time. But as decent people, we must give him an opportunity of reply. As a decent party SNP should have taken a position on the matter. But they have not. That is the point.
Reply to Sanwiches before acourt. You say Viral Dhanjee will take votes from SNP. Well I believe Dhanjee will take subtantial votes from SPPF that Wavel and Prea will never get. That is the reason we must support him.The larger picture, is where an opposiion is not unite din effort and solidare, the impact on the electorate isdemoralizing and the opposition loses Moral Authority to carry the day. So if I look like a sandwich beofre a picnic, you look like chicken legs eaten in the kitchen, before the picnic.
I have advised Dhanjee to file a STAY on the Elections. To stop the process until he is certified . This is what his team of lawyers has done. If he win, elections stay. SNP should use the time to unite the oppostion and deal with the spilled milk. If he loses, he can seek a ruling to null and void the elections as they are not Free Fair or credible.
People of Seychelles are sick of a sleeping SNP and sick of excuses why results are not delivered.
Move on turtles! You have wasted 17years of our time. A weak opposition party cannot get strong on steriods 2 weeks before elections.

Christopher, you're still trying to defend St. Ange. Give him a chance to reply you say? Please give me a break. You heard the SBC news reader going breathless last night reading the press release from State House regarding a Regar article on Lise Bastienne. Guess who's proudly circulating this press release today? Do you mind telling me where STB and tourism come into this? Why should St. Ange feel that he has to be an arm of State House Press office? What's his interest in all this?
On Lise Bastienne, this is a long story. Michel is right to be like diable dan delo beni. Demann dimounn ki konnen ya dir zot. Soon proof will come out.
Liz Bastienne is a whore, and everybody knows that is the reason her office is next door to Michel. Her and Michel have been fucking each other for years. May be Alain Ste.ange wants a piece of her ass as well. There are many other SPPF whores out there such as Grancourt at STB. maybe Ste.ange is a pimp for Michel and that is why Michel wants to keep the Minister of Tourism job.
Bloody fucking whores all of them who sell their bodies for high level positions or money. THat goes to Barra, Ste.ange and Pierre too.
Mr C Gill,
Why has my elaborate reply to your comment been removed from this blog ?

Many of us defence St Ange the same way as we defence him in his endeavor to bring back the tourism industry on track, while Michel was doing everything to undermine his action. We waiting him to speak out on the issue that we can have a change to understand where does he stands .Nobody is going to put words in his mouth but we exspect him to clarify thing as rapidly possible.
What you see on SBC is shit as has been the case for the last thirty four years.Confication of public media by Pp to spread its propagandas and use it as a means to divert attention on the real issues.
Jeanne D'Arc
Relpy to "Mr. Give me a break" himself-
I say give St. Ange an opportunity to reply on a national issue of his endorsement of Michel, not because I am trying to protect St. Ange, I am not.
I am particularly disturbed by the PPB as anyone else, because we defended him as being a- political and sent to STB by the TRADE to sort out the Tourism mess.
An endorsement by him is in fact alarming when he- himself said to the TRADE that "SPPF PL have no Tourism Plan". St. Ange has been pitching this line for years singlehandedly. I know they have no plan. We have been spoon feeding SPPF PL like a geriatric bed ridden patient on Tourism issues, just so the industry does not collapse.
Ironically, this is the same line Derek Savy has pitched for years.
St. Ange and STB, SHTA had to come up with a crisis management plan after Lalanne was bounced and ruined Seychelles Tourism marketing.
Why give him an opportunity to reply? Because right now he has an excuse why he cannot reply. He is in South Africa attending INDABA on behalf of the TRADE. When he gets back, ask him what his position is if SPPF PL took advantage or him, or he was used, or he has used the TRADE as a stepping stone, or he has used SNP or SNP used him.
Giving even a dog a right of reply is the gentleman civilized way to do things.
Show these people in PL you are better then them. Do not give them an excuse for doing what it appears they did.
If you cannot do that, you are free to rag on St.Ange as you choose to do so. The era of FEAR is over and we have no intention of going backwards.
Stop looking at the speck on my eye when both your eyes are covered with a plank!

Dear Jeanne d'Arc, I'm sorry to be a pain in the ass, but you also seem to give the impression that St. ange has a good reason to have done what he has. Good reason he has - to keep his privileges and position. He'll get a seat on the plane next to James on his next trip to the Vatican. That St. ange did a decent job in tourism, I have no doubt. That he had managed to acquire for himself a little bit of credibility after having been unable to run a small hotel, there is no doubt. Everyone understood that in his position he needed to distance himself from SNP and day to day politics. What has now changed? The offer of something bigger after elections IF James wins? What would he do if Ramkalawan wins? Resign or pledge allegiance? Can he be trusted ever again - BY ANYBODY AND ANY PARTY?

A spectacular jump from organising Bazar Ovan at STB to Principal Secretary for the affairs of the President for Mrs. Bastienne, don't you think? Competence she may have, I have no doubt, but certainly not as principal secretary, not even of an old people's home.State house's press release is very diffensive and protective don't you think? I wonder why? Mrs. Bastienne is not the first person whose competence has been questioned before. Pep Seselwa, open your eyes before you walk into a brick wall...Are rumours of a potential third "first" lady linked??????

Who's the Wanker?
Sorry blogger asking us to focus on issues. All these are issues that affect the morality of our country that need to be highlighted. Another 5 years of Michel and we'll have acid rain to purify this place.
The wankers look like all of us who will sit by and allow him to continue raping our country.
State House press release on Liz Bastienne is a classic case of someone protesting too much.
Nowhere does it set out Liz Bastienne's qualifications for the job.
We know that State House has been a place of debauchery for years.
You do wonder what Michel had to hide when he called for ethical political campaigning. It is not as if they believe in ethics in public life.
If the question is asked: What is the most powerful job in the country today, there is a clear answer. It is the PSPO, which means Principal Secretary, President’s Office. The person in that job is Mrs. Lise Bastienne.
Power, of course, always comes from closeness to the person who signs the orders. This is where the position of Mrs. Bastienne is unique. She occupies the office next to President James Michel. The connecting door is always open. Mrs. Bastienne has unparalleled access to the President, a position which makes many, including top officials, nervous and even envious.
Mrs. Bastienne has more power than any minister. No one in the cabinet would disregard a quiet word from her as to what they need to do. This is not strange, since she calls in the name of the President.
Over recent months, PSPO has been the main person deciding on top appointments of officials and on critical board appointments. It is also well known that if you require something out of the ordinary, she is the one who can make it happen.
Although she is in a public service post, Mrs. Bastienne is also Mr. Michel’s political strong-arm. She advises the President on strategy and even looks after small details such as what clothes he should wear for public appearances, what gestures he should make and so on. She has also campaigned tirelessly for him.
What makes her case even more interesting is that Mrs. Bastienne is an unusual recruit to the public service. She came in at the top, with little experience of any role as a public official. Until a few years ago, she was only a simple teacher. Her rise to the top could be the subject of a tele-novella, from obscurity to power in one quick step.
The position of Mrs. Bastienne is not a good reflection on the public service because it goes against the principle of a career structure. It is not a position earned through promotion from one level to the next, because Mrs. Bastienne spent almost no time in the public service ranks. It is a personal appointment and exactly what should not happen in a modern public service.
This appointment also shows the falseness of the claims that in Seychelles today women have earned equality because several occupy positions of power. Mrs. Bastienne’s example shows that for women, appointsments can be on a personal basis and not because the doors of opportunity are open for everyone based on merit, professionalism and career path. It is one thing that public servants, and especially women, should want to see changed for the better.
What is there in that article for James Michel to think that any reader might conclude he is having an affair with MRS Bastienne, apart from his own guilty conscience ?
St Ange goes to Indaba (7-10 May) politically damaged and a diminished representative for Seychelles, because Michel put his re-election above the country's tourism industry. His unique selling point -- a national, non-partisan figure steering the country's tourism industry with the support of everyone -- clearly busted.
Ce vraiment claire que la promotion de madame Batienne cette une promotion canape. Ce aussi simple que sa.Il y a beaucoup promotion de ce genre au Seychelles. Ste. Ange is a traitor and is now sucking off Michel. He has just released a press release, I assume from Indaba in Durban South Africa, to support Liz Bastienne and her position at State House, and has lambasted Regar for not having any morals and respect for women. This is the same Ste.Ange who screwed so many black women on La Digue and continued to do so throughout his married life that one has run out of fingers, toes and the abacus. Bloody leopards never change their spots. Traitor to the SNP, traitor to the people of Bel Air who voted for him, and traitor to the people of Seychelles and to our democracy.
Liz Bastienne and Alain St. Ange obviously both have one thing in common between INDABA at this point:
they both are between a rock and a hard spot.
Liz has Natilie to deal with aswell and James. That is no small affair and a potential powder keg.
Alain owes the Trade an explanation of a life time, and his crediblity is at stake and he must deal with Michel aswell and SNP all in one.
Sad situation, I only suggest we offer everyone a right of reply.
I suggest they use it, because if they do not, the gears will change.
You know what the gears can get like on STAR!
We will soon offer a REWARD on information to track down SELL OUTS!
Example, bank accounts, checks, promises in exhange for selling the interest of Seychelles and her people.
SESEL POU SESELWA!

May be Natalie will get a potion from Praslin and poison Liz and Michel. What a gift that would be for the Seychellois people. Natalie can then be first lady forever.
This is plain sad.
What kind of people do we really have as leaders or wanna be leaders?
I do not see a single person during this election that is worthy of running a country or having any sense of morality or my vote.
Seychelles is small. Think about it. We all know what each and everyone of the so called presidential candidates did. Do they deserve our vote? How about the people who are so called defecting? A guy who sleeps with a married woman and is a home-wrecker, a man who jumps allegiance all the time or a another guy who has a depressive disorder...Get real people!
My God, we are in such a sad state.
I am ashamed of all of these people.
We deserve better damn it!
These general elections are more of a drama than having it for the actual purpose of helping our country!!!
Name me one person, one person who is in the top tier of any party right now, who can lead us???? And who has a moral compass and lead at the same time.
What kind of direction will our children of today have??
Do we want to have our kids raised with these values or examples?
It just seems all of these so called leaders are nothing more than dirt-bags and leftovers. The real leaders and people of quality were banished and left long ago.
Pathetic.
We need someone who can talk about the future , be professional, care about our children and leave a proper legacy. And who is also not corrupt, lead by his little head and can actually look us in the eye and say " Yes, I can help you. I can lead you. I can make your life better.".
I'm sorry everyone, this election is a joke and an insult to all Seychellois.
Try and tell me I'm wrong.
Hard isn't it?
Oh the last blogger is so right, unfortunately. How pathetic, sad and mediocre our country has become. And how depressing and hopeless the future looks.
Has it escaped our attention that there was another headline article in Regar. That of voter buying.State House has stayed very quiet on this one. Defending Lise Bastienne's and by extension James Michel's morality is more important. Poor Natalie. What goes round comes round. I pity the poor girl who could have had a happier future with somebody her age. But at least now she has a feel of the humiliation that Ninette had to endure. A leadership based on morality and good value. What a joke. What example we are setting for our children.
Alain St ange has formally assumed his place in the club of screwers and as such he owes James Michel one. Christopher is still expecting him to "explain" his position. Are you that naive? He'll be given airtime on his return from wherever he is to tell the world how everything is great and how South Africa has committed themselves to participate in his circus of a "carnival".The country's revenue does not follow the "spectacular increase in tourism arrivals" but who cares? The trade will continue to make us believe that this is alright. Have they noticed that Maldive's tourism is blooming -and this without an airline, carnival and so-called tourism ambassadors. I wonder why????
Tourism numbers are up in Maldives and Mauritius because their leaders are not communist idiots.
The Maldivians and Mauritians are hard working people and believe in educating their children. Here in Seychelles, Rene and Michel have brainwashed our children, some now 30 years plus. Sadly many of them today have become lazy idiots just like their beloved leaders. This generation cannot feed or clothe themselves, but rely on the Party Lepep Government for food, beer, housing, and even roof sheets.
We are reaping the destructive seeds of Albert and Michel. Until we get rid of these 2 seeds, more idiots will grow. And tourism numbers will remain the same despite carnivals, Michel's lies and St. Ange's media circus.
As Bob Marley said, kill it before it grows.
Bastienne is a prostitute and sold her fat pussy long ago when she fucked ugly Michel. Now she has been paid back.
Tonight on SBC, thye showed another prostitute called Doway. She used to fuck Albert Rene adn now trying to indoctrinate young kids in her SPDF museum.Instead of teaching children the real Seychelles history, we are now teaching them about South African mercenaries. Why isn't Doway showing the first mercenaries in SEychelles which was ALbert Rene and James Michel with his machine gun?
And Lise Bastienne was trying to look lady-like on La Digue.
Another youth centre with JJ spirit connections and political connotations. It's taken James Michel 7 years to finally realise that diguois deserve a resouce centre. Remember the hospital promised by Rene? Diguois are still waiting.
Just the thought of having to go through another 5 years of this bullshit is pushing me to drinking lapire. Lots of it.
The people who wrote the State House press release are fools. There is not a single word how Bastienne is qualified to be the most influential government employee. There is a lot of rubbish about sexism, chauvinism because Bastienne is a woman. They should stop attacking Ramkalawan, because that is an attack on all black men, and racist.
People, including State House, are reading a lot into the article because suggestions of dangerous liaisons at State House are credible. Don't blame Regar for what people think, blame the philanderers and cradle snatchers at State House.
Seychelloie comes black, white, yellow, blue like a (rainbow color) that is what Seychelles is all about and that why we are so unique, stop using, calling , judging someone by his color .We do not have clans, tribes, kas etc... in this country .

Jeanne D'Arc
Tourism Ambassador,
St Ange has not clarify where he stands yet,but i will assume that he does it expressly and hope that he has not also fall in the trap Michel set for them .St Ange has done in a short time what Pp had not done in thirty four years, but the problem now is that St.Ange is allowing Michel to steal his success and even marginalizing him,and not enough Pp is going as far as brain-washing him to join in its failed government,i hope it won't happen.
Our tourism industry though the good job of St Ange has a long way to go.One thing that must be done is to promote Seychelles on the right market.I explain myself,Pp tourism startegy is concentrated on
attracting Arabs, while the biggest tourism market is in Europe-French,German etc....
Another problem with Pp strategy is that it promotes five stars hotels that can never attract enough guests due to the pirce and can never have a full occupancy instead of small and medium industries where most of the income comes.Guests that bring in money are not a few Arabs rich but traditional tourists who booked in guest houses, small hotels etc that what should be promoted.A few months ago Faure when to the USA what he did, instead of taking St.Ange or someone from the toursim industry with him he instead took Heeger to promote his illegal hotel on Eden Island. That is not serious isn't it?You make reference to Maldives,Mauritius well their success partly come from good mangement, good strategy base on promoting what i just mentioned above and also depend a lot on charter flights like Virgin and other.I remmeber in the nineties when for example African Safari operated here, most hotels where full almost all year round becuase there was a flight very week form Germany teemed with German tourists, they spend, they chartered boats, when out to restaurants etc thus bring money to diferrent industries involve with tourism.
Jeanne D'Arc
What a joke! The last comments again make it sound as if poor little Alain St. Ange has been tricked into taking part in Michel's PPB and writing or circulating Michel's press release on Lise Bastienne. You are either naive or a fool.I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you're just plain naive.
On tourism - a certain degree of diversification is needed but let's also be clear that we have undertaken an indepth market study so that we're not wasting the little money we have on markets that can never bring returns. The indian market is a concrete example. For the products that Seychelles offer do we seriously believe that India could be a viable market? I do not think so but I want to be proved wrong. The same applies to the Japanese market. Unless we can sort out flight connections between Japan and Seychelles, this is a waste of time. Japanese are flocking to Maldives. Why? Because Singapore airlines pick them up from Japan, have a short transit in Singapore and fly them to Maldives. The last time I checked there were at least two Singapore airline flights in and out of Maldives per week, suiting the japanese who take short breaks rather than extended holidays. Instead of running around and organising carnivals which will remain an activity for the locals rather than a marketing tool, St Ange should be focusing on our traditional markets. The trade which have been sleepwalking better wake up before it's too late because soon St Ange will be organising Parti Lepep's political rallies and he'll be saying it's to market Seychelles. As if somebody spending so much to plan a holiday to Seychelles want to spend their time watching a pathetic show called "carnival".
I am afraid that educated women in the Seychelles need to think twice before casting their votes for LP. If you are not ready to spread your legs under Lepep regime your education is worth nothing. This is a that profess that promote women and are levelling the ground for equality in the Seychelles between the two genders. Sorry to say that Lepep is just turning our women into prostitues and then they call that gender equality. A lot of decent educated women in the past had to leave their jobs because they were highly principled and they knew all their sacrifices would not be compromised for promotion based on sexual favours for the political elites.
So what we have in our country are 1. most of our men are turned into alcoholics and drug addicts. And our women into prostitues. These are the morale ideals of the Seychelles leadership under SPPF/LEPEP. They have been turning political institution into brothel like state house has been for 34 years under this immorale leadership of SPPF
Maldives&Mauritius are not communist and idiots ok,but there are corrupt and their abuse also there power like PP do.
WHy lately Maldivens are taking in to the streets calling their President a corrupt man and asking him to step down.
Anyone concerned about democracy in Seychelles should give serious consideration to how money is being used in the present presidential campaign. A folder of papers has been given to Regar by a Parti Lepep official. In this folder are various Parti Lepep documents relating to their campaign in Bel Air. It has copies of the Voters’ register for the district, lists of party workers, plans for points of assembly on polling day and so on. It is obviously the work of a senior party campaigner. But there are two things that particularly show the Parti Lepep campaign tactics and method of operation. One set of papers are forms which show the disbursement of money on one day. There are exactly 20 of them, all signed on March 21, 2011. The amounts entered are in general R1500, R2000 or R3000,with a few for smaller sums. In total, they amount
R39,600. This is Bel Air in one day, and maybe not even all that was given that day. When you multiply that by 25 districts, that would be R990,000 on one day, which was before the start of the official campaign. If you extend that to 21 days as a minimum, the total for that is R20,790,000. Another remarkable document is a list of names,in alphabetical order, against which various comments have been made. The comments generally refer to material things that the person has requested or which is being proposed, ranging from money to housing allocation. Against most of them is a ‘cost’ entered in one column. The
highest are for R8000. The lowest is one of R700. There is only one way to read this: everyone has a price. The total cost entered against 66 names out of 174 on the list is R232,000. That works out as and average of R3515 per person. Is this then, the price of a commodity on the market called ‘your vote’ ? That however is only for ordinary people’s votes. In a much bigger league is money, business, land, loans and favours that may be given for various things such as speaking on PPBs. One former SNP supporter has openly boasted of being given R300,000 for speaking on television. People who have toiled for years through the SPUP and SPPF have not been so lucky. Will anyone say that meaningful democracy can exist if this kind of money is used for politics? Everyone should seriously ask themselves what the future holds for Seychelles if this is what politics amounts to. Apart from the money, what is equally troubling are some comments entered against some names. There are comments such as ‘Not Reliable’ and ‘To be referred’, which speak for themselves. The conclusion is inescapable. This dossier was given to the SNP by a Parti Lepep official who was disgusted by what is going on. That at least is a sign of hope.

Yes there are corruption in Mauritius but they also have powerful institutions which are being run by highly educated individuals with integrity. A person like Lisa Bastienne in Mauritius would have remained a simple teacher unless she was prepared to sacrifice herslf to go to university. Mauritian society is build around sound educated work force this is plain to see if you have been to Mauritius.Mauritians universities is man totally by Mauritians. Children in Mauritius learn other languages apart English, French and Creole. Why have we failed to reach the standard of Mauritius simple because in Seychelles we have clerks as PRESIDENT, PROSTITUES occupying the most powerful post. Educated Seychelloise are marginalised because of their intelligences. SPPF leadership do not value education because they would like to control us. We need a system that value education and that reward any Seychelloise who has achieved the grade to further their education especially when they are young and focus. WITHOUT SOUND EDUCATION WE WILL BE A SLAVE OF FEW CORRUPT UNEDUCATED INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS RAPED OUR COUNTRY WITH AK47.
Reading the above disclosure I once more re-iterate 'the next president of Seychelles will be the one with most money to spend on the campaign'
Seselwa are in a fix, the cost of living is sky high. Your average pay per month is a mere SR5000. Seselwa exist at the mercy of SPPF/PP.
Seselwa are not a principled nation and lacks morality. This has been in existance for decades, well before Mancham & FAR started in politics. I am afraid it will take another 2 generations to change this abnormal way of thinking.
Gill, Ramkalawan, Volcere & Boulle keep up the good work, unfortunately change will not happen in your lifetime !

A philandering and cradle snatching president hand-picks an ordinary teacher with undisclosed qualifications to become the country's top civil servant, overlooking all other better professionally qualified women, working within wanking distance of him...
What are we supposed to think ?
They must be at a loss to find a credible explanation to say this is an attack on the teaching profession, women in the public service or vulnerable women working at State House. They think they are clever by generating a lot of sound and fury, but they have not yet justified the appointment. We are entitled to conclude that Bastienne's appointment stinks.
We have fallen right into the trap set by James Michel: focus on Lise Bastienne and forget about the other main headline in Regar - that of corruption and voter buying.James Michel must be jumping up and down with glee in his palace at Sans Soucis. Voters are being bought. Just look at Lepep PPBs. they are bringing out only the former SNP supporters and activists.SNP is unable to do the same thing with the hundreds of deserters from Lepep. We'll know soon whether Seychellois are really that fickle.
It is clearer now what St. Ange has been given and what else is on the cards for selling his soul. Since Christopher is supposed to be meeting him, I'll let him have the privilege of announcing this.
I disagree that the Bastienne's issue is playing to Michel's advantage. The story is about Michel. It is damaging Michel, as you can see from the vitriolic press release. But the press release gave the story wings. The story is now online, highlighting the way civil servants are appointed and, though not what Regar covered, immorality at State House. Surely, there are still some of us who care about morality. How many female civil servants have had their career damaged by randy PL politicians ? They now have the chance to vote for an independent civil service -- new legal rights for fair appointment and promotion in the civil service. Under PL women in high places will always be under the suspicion that they have had to drop their knickers to get there, because that is how PL work.
NDP win in Canada. SNP win in Scotland. The ruling People's Action Party (PAP) lose support in Singapore.
Which way are we heading ?
Michel action is paralizing RAM to the extent that he cannot even react.RAM seems surprised and schocked by all these floor-crossing which is not at all a good sign for a political leader who wants to present himself as strong, effective and determine. The best reaction RAM can have is to Unite the oppostion and call for a boycott of this faked election by doing so he can show his voters that he has the quality of a leader and stop Michel fools game.Is he going to do that or he is already accepted defeat before the voting even starts. This is a change for RAN to prove himself.
Bastienne seêms to be a good publicity for Pp to divert attention of the real issues but U$ 2,5 missing billions, selling our patrimony, could also be a good plattform for a counter attack on the part of RAM.A little bit of common sense can make a lot of damage to Pp and god knowns if there are pertinent issues to counter attack PP criminals.
Jeanne D^Arc
Well done Wavel for a star and charismatic performance in SNP's PPBs.
Among wavering voters, PL is vulnerable on: CRIME, COST OF LIVING, WATER and SESEL POU SESELWA.
David Pierre and Davidson Barra are yesterday's news. Forgotten already. Their fame lasted no more than 15 minutes. Liz Bastienne is the news this weekend.
We can agree or disagree of whether Japs or Indian tourists but also on flights operating to these two countries as you mentioned above. It is true also that there is an increase of Indians even chinese travelers but statistically they are not among the top ten countries which produce the greatest tourists market though there has been an increase in the recent years.German, french are still the number one travelers and are the two nations whose people travel most in the world. There is also another nation that travel qiut a lot the Australian . ,when you look how many Australian travel in the polynesie and per year there is undoubtly a great potential there to be explioted not only in regard to native Australian but the thirty thousands of Seychellois who reside there and would like to travel back to the motherland more often but cannot do so mainly because of bad connection and offers. This could be a case for Air Seychelles to look into rather than flying on the other side of the world(Falkland)for a few pieces of silver just enough to pay for the fuel used.Another thing that makes European the best clients is the fact that they like doing other activities apart form their already paid package. For example fishing trips, excursion, night life, etc that you won^t see in Japs,Indian tourists becuase of their culture. For example you will rarely see an Indian going in Bar at night most of them do not drink, the same to japs and other none European.Do not get me wrong here ,all guests whereever they come from are important for our industry but we must also see thing in its realistic way. These are facts not form me but from interantional bodies.Check the sucess of Domincan Republic,Mexico, or even communist Cuba you will see the different in saty compare to seychelles even Muaritius or Maldives.

The Election is not Free Fair or credible up to now.
The dishing out of money exposed by Regar ( good job Regar, kudos to you) shows the elections process is rigged with vote buying.
The buying of opposition players is another manner in which elections are being rigged.
What needs to be done is a BOYCOTT of the elections by all opposition factions.
This is where we can split hairs with PL to the end of their rule.
To participate in the process, when the process is not free or fair or even credible, only gives the PL the credibility it needs to keep on ruining Seychelles, and selling her.

Bolot-
You say a lot and think highly of yourself, though you use the humble name of BOLOT!
You may not be principled as a person but many Seychellois are.
When you blame the people for the gross failings of the leadership of the opposition you show your own personal failiings. I am not so sure you are as successful as you advise us you are. If you were, you could use your name.
The people are innocent. It is those that have failed the people for the last five years in perpetuating division in the opposition as a stratgey who prevent change.
We must not forget Division in the opposition has been a key formulated and defended strategy for Ramkalawan and SNP.
Today when their own peiople sell out, it is the price they are paying for promoting a policy of division.
Yes the sell outs have done it to get money. Yes they let down Seychellles and her people at a critical hour.
But the blame rest on them individually and in collectivity those that promoted apolicy of division.
I will live to see change in Seychelles and so will so many other young Seychellois.
A generation will go, but so will Michel and Rene. They too act strong while on heart pills like Murbarak!
Sesel Pou Seselwa!

I say let's follow the process through. Let PP buy as many voters as they can but ultimately the ordinary voters will decide shortly whether this is all the respect that they deserve from a President for a "nouvo Sesel" or they want change. I feel that PP and all Khalifa's money will be confined to the dustbins of history in 12 short days.
For all the money spent and voters shipped and flown over from all corners of the country, it was a pathetic turn out for PP rallies on La Digue yesterday and Praslin today. Proof, if it was needed that Seychellois of 2011 are different from Seychellois of 2006.People this time will be voting for change. I have no doubt.
Christopher, you were seen passing past PP rally today. Do you want to take back eveything you have said about boycotting and now agree that the silent majority will kick PP out through the ballot box?
James Michel must be pulling the little strands of hair left after seeing the level of his support on La Digue and Praslin this week end. Lise Bastienne must be worried that she won't be first Lady afterall.
Party Lepep will start getting dangerous now. The opposition must watch their backs because it is the biggest public indication yet of a loss of support. Don't bet that it is going to be all SNP though. Volcere and Boulle are not doing badly out there either in terms of support.
Mr Gill, I have good reason to remain anonymous. Why are you so keen to know my identity ? The STAR blog allows one to participate anonymously. I do not have to prove my success to anyone and I do not have to feature in who'Who in Seychelles either. Good luck with your good work, I will keep on supporting freedom loving Seselwa especially the Seselwa Rasin.
Bolot
I don't care where the opposition support comes from, as long as we deny James Michel and Parti Lepep victory. It's clearer now that this is within our grasp despite all the vote buying.
Mr. Bolot-
I do not care personally who you are. I take issue with you hiding your ID when you present double standard contradictory views that are clearly intended to discourage the opposition from pushing for change.
This split personality approach is not tolerable. You are only attempting to spread confusion and discourage people from seeking change.
Change is our birthright as freedom is.
Rally Spy- I do not need to drive by an SPPF rally to know the outcome. I know PL buys rent a crowds from Mahe Praslin and La digue to jump start their intimidation campiagns. It is not a coincidence that the rallies start on La Digue, then Praslin and boats from Mahe fill up to make the trip.
If the opposition was united, PL would lose at the ballot box even if it is rigged.
Divided, we split votes amonst the candidates like Volcere and Boulle who by the way, have much better PPB's then Ramkalawan on the issues.
In spite of all that, you can expect PL to start passing out the 9mm and ak 47s to all districts.
Don't say I did not tell you so.
Ramkalawan has professed the politics of division and now we will pay a great price for that.
Sesel Pou Seselwa!

Chartering boats to bring over Pp supporters from Mahe to La digue,Praslin etc.. shows that PP has credibility problem .Itfact here is that it does not have enough supporters on these islands so its transports Jj evil Spirit cronies where they go on to give the imprestion that Pp has large mass of support all around the country.
I am confused by RAM position. On one hand in an article in REGAR he blamed Pp for dividing the country, which we all totally agree with, but than the same RAM use the same Pp tactic to divide the Opposition, should RAM leads by example?RAm problem is simple he barks like a little Chihuahua dog but then dissappeared into the woods when calling on him for actions. He tells us to follow him but he does move.
RAM is doing one thing planning his own defeat and though all indications show that he actual passivity and inactions are the cause of an eventual defeat ,he stays stubborn on the failed course he has taken.
Can a united opposition defeat pp imcumbent though massive irregularities and manipulation. The answer is YES.recent history has shown for example in Presidential elections in Namibia 1989,Malawi 1992,Madagascar 2001 to name a few that even when elctions be flawed, opposition won.In all of those cases where opostion won though they were UNITED and COHESIVE.
Get to the task RAM,do the right thing by uniting the opposition in order to bring about change our people is longing for and show your voters that you just can preach but lead too.
Sesel Pou Seselwa¨
Jeanne D'Arc
Mr Gill, I am not sowing and spreading confusion. You are a very confused person. My advise to you is get off this ego trip of yours. Get in your car, take a drive to Arpent Vert, meet with RAM, have a one to one and agree on common grounds. SNP is the stronger opposition to date, therefore, swallow your pride, compromise and get behind RAM.Once you have agreed to work with RAM on his terms, both you and RAM can get in the car and drive to NDP office down the road. Meet with Volcere and do the same. Once you agree to that, I will make substential sums of money available for the last few days of the campaining. I am very serious, and will still remain anonymous.
Bolot
Bolot is damn right. This is common sense when you are strong you do not have to negotiate so i think this is why Ram is not bother with the other players in the oppositions. I think it is reasonable for those who are not in the driving seat to negotiate for a compromise in the remaining days.It is not only Ram who is responsible to unite the opposition. It is also the duty of other stake holders to try and reach out to him. Civility demand that we live our comfort zone and try to negotiate face to face.It seems to me with all due respect to some of the opposition members that they prefer James Michel to win the election rather than SNP. I can truly tell you that a Seychelles with an SNP leadership will be much better than % more years of dictatorship. Please unity start from us first when we can reconcile with ourself and then we can unite others. Stop being critical of the SNP let us all give them a helping hand at this time because they represent a better hope for Seychelles because we have seen after 34 years of SPPF we are heading down hill and Seychelles deserve better. Do it for Seychelles let us unite to defeat dictatorship, murderers, thieves in our beautiful country.
Bolot,
I guess it is RAM in disarray,he needs help , then he must be the one asking for help not the contary ,He should be asking others to help him get out of this bitch he jumped into .Working with RAm on his terms means accepting his Dictation, that is something we fighting against and you can imagine that no one is going to negociate or promote a new dictator. There is nothing moe to negociate with RAm,he was told long before the election to unite the opposition in order to challenge PP and avoid another SNP defeat ,he played death ears, now that division is eroding his party and paving the way for his defeat he is calling for help but without changing his way.How can you be helped by others when you refused to hear others advices?
if RAM you need help there is no need to waste time to drive to Arpent Verte to tell him what he has been told several times, but if is short minded i will remind him once again'UNITE THE OPPOSTION AND BOYCOTT THIS FAKED ELECTION ,stop this masquerade now and by doing so save he will save at least his dignity.
Jeanne D'Arc
It has been an excellent campaign for SNP so far, with one week to go (two weeks for PL as they will campaign during the cooling off period).
We expected a star turn from Wavel and we are getting it, but even Nicholas is shining and exuding confidence and reassurance. Great choice for VP nominee.
The future increasingly looks Green, but there can be no slacking off in the next two weeks. Dare we hope for a Seychelles Spring ? I think so.
Mr. Bolot-
You really do spread confusion in the ranks with your Bozo ideas.
The first item on your Bozo list: "is Ramkalawan , Volcere, Boulle , Gill have done a good job, but they will never see change in their lifetime".
Now your latest item to the Bozo List is: "Mr. Gill, get in your car, drive to Arpent Vert, meet with Ramkalawan, then establish common ground and go to NDP office down the street and seek common ground with Volcere".
Mr. Bolot the ball of unification has been in Ramkalawan's court for years now. It is just there, on the field in a corner of "Green Acres" and it is leaking air.
We in MSR do percieve ourselves to be junior partners in any set up as you suggest.
We are a major player, delivering the ideas that have been solid throughout the last 5 years when the lead opposition party went to sleep.
Our position on unity is the sleeping party must awaken at this midnight hour to unite the opposition or be doomed. We have no other position on unity and we certainly would not be keen on taking advise from you Mr. Bolot, as you have just turned up and just given us a split multi personality responses in less then one week.
All SNP apoligist would be wiser, to put their energy where the problem rests, with its leadership.
That Sir, Mr. Bolot, is being as polite as I can be.
Thank you.
Sesel Pou Seselwa!

I think the campaign of the 3 opposition candidates have been complementary to one another. There has been little overlapping or targetting one another. DP is the bull in the china shop. It is asking for a place at the top table, without casting doubts on SNP's credibility as a government. If the elections go to a second round, Volcere and Boulle are out. It would be suicidal for Ramkalawan not to join with them to go into the decisive second round. Michel would be almost mortally wounded, if pushed into a second round. In the two weeks between the first and second rounds, we might even begin to see PL falling apart.
The President and Vice President will be whoever stand for elections and win. That's the law. So it s either Michel/Faure or Ramkalawan/Prea.
What are Volcere's options for a second round ? One or two ministerial positions or implementation of one or two DP's policies ? I have always thought that Volcere should be looking at the National Assembly elections and rebuild DP from there. DP cannot win seats on its own, but it can split the vote and give a number of seats to PL. An agreement between DP and SNP is almost a forgone conclusion for NA elections in the next 12 months. So, Volcere should forgo ministerial positions and go for policies to help him win NA seats and rebuild DP. In fact Volcere can do that as early as next week after the campaign is over -- withdraw from the race, endorse SNP and agree a strategy for the National Assembly elections. A bold strategy -- but it is Volcere who will cop the blame if Michel loses in the first round and wins on the second round. Volcere will have split the votes in the first round and allow PL to live to fight another day. If he loses, Ramkalawan will be gone but Volcere will be around to get the flak.
If Volcere can get what he wants before round 1, why take the risk of a second round ? If Michel wins convincingly int he first round, Volcere's vote will be humiliatingly low. Between a rock and a hard place, Ralph ?
To the blogger talking about thieves in our beautiful country - look no further thieves are the ones you are promoting. Thieves are the ones that condone burglary for cheap politics. You are really a sad case for you don't have a clue about the kind of people you telling us to vote to run this country! So do your research and come back with something more credible.
Why pick on us ? We are too busy. We have had 20 years notice only.
That is PL's petulant response to UN who says that PL has not filed Human Rights report.
PL is on the back foot. Their carefully laid plan to have a succession of good news on SBC right up to 21 May is not working. Last weekend, they had to use SBC to respond to a sex scandal (in all but name) at State House and today they are using SBC to explain their appalling record on human rights. Even their sympathicos at SBC are sounding dejected.
I have done my research and it is a fact that the biggest thieves in the Seychelles are SPPF?LP. Thet have amassed 2.5billion of dollars from poor Seychelles. Sorry mate you will have to decide whom you should vote for. If you want to condemn Seychelloise for another five years of dictatorship. I am at peace with myself because i am not casting my vote in favour of SPPF. That is it sorry.
