Seychelles President Michel Announces Government Restructuring

NEW CABINET or "Nouvo Kabinen" (new toilet)?

This week, our globe-trotting, book-writing, highly decorated Honorary Doctor and President of Seychelles (James Alix Michel aka JAM) revealed the names of the new candidates in his Government.

While many of the names were already known, the Seychellois people were stunned at some of the announcements. The most controversial was of course the appointment of Mitcy Larue as the Minister of Health and we are quite sure that Madame Gamatis must be wondering when she will become Minister of Hydro-Carbon. Surely she qualifies too.

Alain St. Ange has been rewarded for his hard work, but more so for his sucking-up to Michel, while Rolph Payet is probably the most deserving of them all since he actually earned his Doctorate Degree by attending University (hear that James).

Christian Lionnet is another shock as he is neither competent nor qualified, and his speech on SBC 2 mights ago was appalling.  Studying for a couple of years in Communist China must be rewarding as Idith Alexander, another unqualified person has landed a cabinet post. Must be great to be a Party Lepep card holder.

As for our ex-Central Bank of Seychelles Governor Pierre Laporte, he will now have to take off his Capitalist hat and put on one of those new Socialist Michel-Morgan styled cap in order to cater to James Michel's welfare state. Forget Milton Friendman and Economics Mr. Laporte. Focus instead on Cuba (Castro), Rene & Michel, North Korea, Stalin and Lenin, Chavez, Mugabe and all those other incredible successful communist economies and those great leaders. Maybe you can ask Mukesh Valabhji, Francis ChangLeng and Leopold Payet to give you some tips on how to become rich, or at least how to empty the coffers of the country. After all, you are no longer running a bank, but you are now in charge of the Treasury. So spend, spend and spend like there is no tomorrow, and get ready for the Assembly to request another 2 or 3 supplementary budgets before 2012 is over.

Marie-Louise the Shrieking Lady of the House has now been rewarded with an ambassador post in the USA. Only God and James Michel would know what this woman will do for Seychelles while she stuffs her face with McDonalds burgers in the USA, but White House and Obama here we come and the red designer dresses will now have to be bought from Macy's in New York. The "Potters" are already packing and they can only see green dollar bills and the land of opportunity ahead. Beats the hell out of that Beau Vallon slum now doesn't it?  Now Marie-Antoinette Rose the new Leader of Government Business (what is that exactly?) must be chomping at the bits to start imposing her rude, obnoxious style into the National Assembly. Look out big Herminie, you have competition.

Poor Conrad Benoiton.  They have found another role for him in the hot Sepec seat. The man does change jobs faster than a bullet train, but he need not worry.  After all Conrad, James the Great Leader is the Minister of Hydro-Carbon, so you are in good hands. But change your chair and spray the office though, as Captain Adam and his dog might still be haunting the halls of the new oil building for years to come. And look out for Mr. Belle who throws Romanesque parties at La Misere.  Just as James Mancham was warned of Albert Rene's plot, the good Captain Adam was warned but did not heed the warning. Traitors amongst the midst. Oh Brutus...

Shamlaye and Athanasius also off to some magic land out there to represent Seychelles as ambassadors. By the way, anyone knows what happened to Siva our great international ambassador?

Veronique Laporte the Bus Lady and Joel Morgan's side-babe is now moving to Health.  Good for her as she has done a good job at SPTC.  Let us hope that Mitcy lets Laporte run the show while Mitcy pampers herself a-la-Athanasius at the Aarti Chambers spa.  Erna had an open account there and spent many hours each day in total relaxation and massage-land as per her own doctor's recommendations. Don't forget the hair and nails now.

And we now have an "Ambassador of Climate Change" in Ronny Jumeau our happy, gay ex-Minister who is enjoying the big apple of New York City and rubbing shoulders with Bank Ki Moon.  I guess Ronny has no clue how much hot air there is coming out of State House these days and this is probably contributing to the global climate change. He will soon know when Madame Potter lands in Washington.

And for the final master stroke, the wife of our good Sepec man, Jacqueline Moustache-Belle has been given a second chance, probably due to hubby's spying eyes and whispers to State House. I guess a huge salary, nice office with plush leather chair, nothing to do for months on end is a great reward. Just tell PUC to string a few more lights at night so we do not get mugged my dear.  And no worries about who will pay for all of this luxury.  Pierre Laporte will find a way.

We will not comment any further and will allow you to write with your own thoughts of this "restructuring".  But one thing is clear. More Seychellois doctors and nurses will be packing their bags and emigrating as fast as they can.  And since we now have several new Ministries, more leather chairs, expensive vehicles, concubines, girlfriends will have to be bought so Minister Laporte or the "Door Minister" should ask for a supplementary budget as soon as possible.  Bankruptcy? What bankruptcy? Smaller Government? Not under James Michel.

God bless Seychelles.

  1. James Michel is an idiot for having appointed Mitcy Larue as a Minister. This is a joke as she is neither qualified to lead nor does she have the brains to be a Minister, especially when the Health Department is in such disarray from Erna Athanasius' mismanagement. Many of the other appointments are purely political and it shows us once again that James Michel is not a leader but a fool.

  2. This new cabinet seems to have come down on the country like a massive depression. The only people who are happy are the new ministers and their groupies. Even some of the "old" ministers who have hung on to their job look noticeably unhappy and their face and voice betray their attempts to remain loyal.

It is the biggest and most expensive cabinet in the country's history, but it is also the most derided. Michel has set this country up for more failure. He is out of touch with reality.

There was so much for Today in Seychelles to write about this new cabinet the day after it was announced. Instead it chose to regurgitate State House propaganda. Of course, by then the news was stale and depressing and there was no reason to reprint State House press release to compound matters. STAR published the names just after 6pm. Facebook was awash with the news. Needless to add, it was also on SBC rado and television news that evening.

State House made Today in Seychelles look like Yesterday in Seychelles and its fearful editor was reduced to complaining publicly in her own paper about the shabby treatment, with characteristic weasel words. By the time Today received the State House press release, the news had been on STAR for more than 30 minutes.

Today's coverage (a bland restatement of a government press release) was disappointing, as the news was yesterday's news by then. It could have chosen to do something different instead (because by then every reader knew the names of the new ministers and their photos and did not need a reminder) by explaining to its readers how bad this cabinet was. But that would have been too gutsy for Marc Hoareau and Nicole Tirant-Gherardi.

Today's coverage was even inaccurate in a key respect. It said that there were more women in the cabinet. The photos showed 2 women out of 6 new ministers. The fact is that the percentage of women in the cabinet stayed roughly at 25%. The additional woman (up from 2 to 3) was offset by the appointment of 3 men of dubious quality out of 4 new ministers in an enlarged cabinet. Today was wrong to repeat State House propaganda which wrongly implied that women would have a bigger influence in the enlarged cabinet. Sending Mitcy Larue to Seychelles Hospital may well make many people want that Ramadoss had been appointed Minister for Health instead.

What about Nichole's bleating that State House had treated her shabbily and lamentation that it is a poor reward for Today's "independence" ? The surprising thing is that she was surprised at such treatment. She seems to forget that Parti Lepep is still in one-party state dictatorship mode where the official media are everything. Non-official media are tolerated, provided they are not overtly too critical of the government, but are not taken seriously.

Today says that it received the press release at 6.38pm. SBC announced the new cabinet in its 6pm bulletin. This means it received the announcement a few hours earlier, as SBC's news preparation is notoriously sluggish. Seychelles Nation got the news in time for its Thursday edition. As Nation "goes to bed", as the hacks say when their day's work is done, shortly after mid-day, it must have received the news around noon.

On Friday, rather than feeding us stale news and waxing widespread anger at these incredible ministerial appointments, Today should have led with the news that the new cabinet has been universally derided and sought explanation for these ministerial appointments. After all, we will pay for their salaries and perks and their incompetence. It is Today's job to ask difficult questions on our behalf. Perhaps, next time, State House would have made sure Today in Seychelles got its press releases at the same time as the state-run media to avoid adverse coverage by a vexed editor. What happened to a woman's scorned and all that ? Let Michel know that Today is not Parti Lepep's history book.

  3. So, James Michel is to be the guest of honour at the Mauritian independence anniversary celebrations. State House is also leaking that Michel will get a gong from Mauritius.

Our "dalons" are patronising us. Parti Lepep (including under its previous guises as SPUP and SPPF) have given them many reasons to patronise us.

The invitation to be guest of honour and the award of the Grand Commander of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean is in fact a sign that the Mauritians have despaired of us and can't wait any longer to give the award to a deserving and democratic Seychellois head of state.

On 2 previous occasions, Mauritius gave the award to dictator-busting leaders of Madagascar and the Maldives. It is strange that this time the award goes to a terrorist, traitor and dictator himself. Our dalons are sending us the message that they have waited long enough for Seychellois to kick out their dictators. But with Michel "re-elected" last year, the Dalons have given up any hope of Seychelles turning its back on dictatorship. Regional realpolitics can't wait for us any longer. Michel will do well to remember this as he indulges in this award.

Mauritius gave the award to Marc Ravalomanana in 2007 while he was president of Madagascar, having brought the long-running dictatorship in that country to an end. He was deposed 2 years later by sympathisers of the old dictatorship.

The other foreign leader to receive the award is Mohammed Nasheed last year, after he too brought the long-running dictatorship in the Maldives to an end. He was deposed by the old dictatorship earlier this year.

The decision to give the award to Michel is therefore highly curious, unless Mauritius thinks it can't wait any longer for Seychelles to come up with its own Ravalomanana/Rasheed and Michel was feeling slighted at his omission. You know how Michel loves a foreign award.

While Michel attends official functions at the independence anniversary celebrations, he will notice that the Mauritian leader of the opposition and other opposition leaders will be absent as they have decided to boycott these functions in a dispute with the government over electoral reforms. It should sound familiar to Michel, except that in Seychelles he has invented his own opposition. The Mauritian people are not as passive as the Seychellois, and don't they know it.

Michel will be finding time to meet the leader of the opposition. In democratic Mauritius, visiting foreign leaders are encouraged to meet the real opposition. In Seychelles, Parti Lepep discourages such contacts. European Union leaders are required by EU protocol to visit the opposition too on their foreign visits, but incur the wrath of Parti Lepep in Seychelles. But the irony will be lost on Michel who is thicker than two planks while he exchanges pleasantries with Paul Berrenger.

  4. Danny Faure still goes by the grand title of Vice-President and Minister for Finance and Trade. The other bits of his empire are too insignificant to mention. But not for much longer. Next week he will be plain Vice President and minister for matters that were too insignificant to mention in his title.

Perhaps that explains the long face in the photo in this weekend's Nation.

His wings were getting too big for James Michel's liking and they have been clipped. That's his reward for creating the David Pierre's PDM scam opposition to contest the national assembly elections.

Long faces, trembling voices and nervous twitches. That's what we can expect from those in the cabinet who held on to their job by the skin of their teeth.
But Alain St Ange will be grinning for the whole cabinet as he goes back to the murderous party that he once supported.

  23. According to the Mauritian press, james Michel is arriving in Mauritius with a 10-person delegation, not the 5 that State House says. Who are the others ? Has Michel gone to mauritius with 5 body guards ? Does he think Rene/Faure might kill him there ?

While Michel spends lavishly on overseas travel, the country has no money to maintain its coastline and is losing beaches that are important to the tourism industry.

It is time this Parti Lepep government got its priorities right and Michel should rein in his folie de grandeur. After 35 years in power, he thinks he can do anything and Parti Lepep supporters will continue to vote for him.

Having wasted our money on overseas travel, he will then need to go and beg off Khalifa, as if this country has no self-respect and national pride.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hasn't Michel just appointed an Ambassador for Climate Change ? That should solve all problems.

    ReplyDelete
  25. So, Danny Faure was absent at the IMF press conference today. Is he brooding somewhere ? What happened to "travay dir pour Sesel" ? He is still Minister for Finance until the National Assembly has rubber-stamped his replacement on Tuesday and his replacement has sworn in after Michel returns from another overseas jaunt.

At least he should have shown some maturity, put on a brave face and do the job that he is still getting paid to do before he goes on to prepare himself for his imminent "depar volonter".

As the Parti Lepep's infighting intensifies, the country's IMF-reform program is taking second place. Principal Secretary Ahmed Afif walked out on the government, without working his notice "to join the private sector". Danny Faure is now boycotting his successor and not supporting him.

What will IMF make of all of this ? Le Dem will probably keep quiet, knowing that he is dealing with a dictatorship that does not like criticisms. Had it been Europe, IMF would have no problems criticising the political instability created by James Michel and the lack of firm political leadership at the Ministry of Finance. The lack of political suppoprt from the Vice President and supposedly president-in-waiting (unless Michel gives him his 'depar volonter' before that) is bound to unsettle the new Minister of Finance and the whole ministry. If, as Michel apparently lied to the nation in his state of the nation address, Danny Faure was in full agreement with the ministerial changes, Faure should have had no problems attending this IMF/Ministry of Finance press conference in a display of cabinet solidarity. Instead, cracks in the cabinet and Parti Lepep were laid bare. This cabinet reshuffle is a bigger disaster than I first thought.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The reshuffle as in poker, is intended to unseat a group of players, namely the Rene-Faure branch of PL.

They will all become Ambassadors or seat warmers in a disgraceful National Assembly.

Michel is cleaning the Rene clan up one by one, and they do not have the balls to say or do otherwise.

As they arrive in the country, the commonwealth team will throw its hands up in the air at the the cabinet reshuffle and the new regime at health. 47. SBC is still keeping mum about James Michel's latest gong. Perhaps while Michel is in Mauritius, Danny Faure is giving orders to the hapless Antoine Onezime.

Michel's sojourn in Mauritius has not been without controversy. The curse of Parti Lepep strikes again.

A mauritian was arrested for the car accident here at home on the day Michel left.

Over in Mauritius, the official lunch held by the Mauritian President for James Michel was hit by lateness and boycott by some from Ramgoolam's Labour Party.

Michel was supposed to get his gong at a ceremony before the lunch. But this ceremony had to be postponed to after the lunch which was itself delayed badly.

Michel left Mauritius just after 4pm this afternoon and was seen off at the airport by Ramgoolam. The Chief Guest is leaving the independence celebrations even before they have ended.

He is skipping the controversial Garden Party being held tonight by the President of Mauritius who used to be the leader of the Mouvement Socialist Mauritien now in opposition.

Many key figures of Ramgoolam's ruling Labour Party, including ministers, are boycotting the Garden Party for political reasons. They are accusing the president of meddling in party politics.

Quite clearly Michel hopped down to Mauritius just to collect his gong to add to his list of "honours". The Chief Guest at the independence anniversary celebrations spent just over 24 hours in Mauritius and had no time to meet ordinary Mauritians on what was supposed to be a state visit. The Mauritians should be a little bit more choosy in whom they give their gongs to.

  59. The curse of Parti Lepep strikes Mauritius. The day after James Michel left Mauritius as the Chief Guest at the independence anniversary celebrations, Mauritius is plunged into a political crisis.

    The parliament has been suspended.

No wonder Ramgoolam has decorated James Michel. He must envy the de facto one-party state in Seychelles and the one-party national assembly with a fake opposition. Life is so much easier for the ruling party when no opposition is allowed.

    ReplyDelete
  60. SBC has put our minds at rest. It has found out from James Michel why he got a gong from Mauritius, despite being there for just over 24 hours.

The gong was for Seychelles-Mauritius friendship and for Michel's work in developing Seychelles. Laughable on both counts. Obviously the Dalons ignored the coup d'état and Michel's role in the one-party state which undermines the reason given for the gong. Let's face it. Mauritius was having problems getting a Chief Guest this year with problems in both Maldives and Madagascar where democracy is being held back by Michel's kindred souls.

But Michel would have given up the Mauritian gong for one from the Queen. Despite spending some 4 days kicking his heels in London, he returned gong-less.

A decent and real judge would have kept her congratulations private. But Twomey has quite clearly lost it and can't think straight. Personal friendships are more important than upholding the impartiality and integrity of the Court of Appeal.

Her Facebook activities are bringing her office as judge into disrepute. She should have adjusted these activities when she became a judge, albeit she turned out to be not a very good judge, as her role in the PDM case and her attempts to abuse her position tro try to get Weekly editor Volcere summarily judged and locked up for daring to question her relationship with Parti Lepep.

He once called James Michel a coward but today he was at State House promising respect for Michel and seeking respect for "the office of the leader of the opposition". Michel must have wondered whether Mathilda thought she was doing him a favour with that judgement. Pierre is a national joke. 82. Signs of things to come ? Or wishful thinking.

Despite a busy day on Thursday and a full complement of state-run media factotums at his beck and call, Michel does not make the headline in Seychelles Nation front page. That must seem strange to the publicity-hogging president, especially after a busy day manufacturing news for SBC and Nation. Heads could roll at Nation. These events at State House are stage-managed precisely to get front page news in Nation (and dare I say Today) and top item in the news bulletin on SBC. That's why they are held in the morning. It would never make it on time on slow coach SBC if it was held after noon. Since when has news of more Chinese largesse trumped news of the president farting at State House ?

Adam takes centre stage and much to the annoyance of Danny Faure, I should think. But Danny Boy, fear not. Adam will burn out soon. He is hardly recognisable from the day he was appointed a minister a few years ago because of his looks.

Michel is relegated to "in the news" with a miniature photo on the front page, with further details on page 2 for those that read more than Nation's front page to get a flavour of the day's propaganda. Faced with a photo of Michel and Jumeau or Michel and Pierre, Nation did the expected and went for the former. Sometimes, using Pierre to damage the opposition by exaggerating his importance must take second place to the promotion of Parti Lepep lackeys.

Air Seychelles operates about 15 flights per day between Mahé and Praslin, this 27-mile hop taking 15 minutes for US$215 (£143 return). The Cat Cocos catamaran service (00 248 4 324 843; catcocos .com) plies the same route in one hour, with four there-and-back sailings each day from €86 return (or €112 return if you opt to stay on to La Digue). Inter Island Ferry Services (00 248 4 232 329; seychelles.net/iif) spans the three-mile gap between Praslin and La Digue, the 15-minute jaunt costing €20 return.

  84. The Parti Lepep government is introducing more paperwork and form filling for arriving visitors. Nice touch.

Even nicer touch for SBC to seek the views of the tourist trade to this OBVIOUS inconvenience to tourists. Perhaps SBC did not expect any contrary views from SHTA CEO Raymond St Ange, nephew of traitor Alain St Ange. SBC was not disappointed. It was just what the doctor ordered for this evening's news -- another St Ange singing this government's praises and wannabe minister. In fact, tonight we will get sick seeing the St Ange family dominate the news.

Raymond St Ange wholeheartedly agreed with the government new tourist-annoying initiative. He praised the government.

Raymond St Ange was supposed to defend tourists' interests. Instead he defended his uncle's political interests and position as minister, by not rocking the boat and not defending tourists against more bureaucracy.

Raymond St Ange has shown that he now has vested interests to defend. He cannot criticise government policies. In short, he is incompetent for that job. SHTA should act. But don't expect Louis D'Offay to act, even if his tourists on expensive holidays in his hotel will feel aggrieved. Customs is even threatening to send visitors back to Health desk or immigration desk if the form handed in to customs officers at the exit are incomplete.

The jungle tourists arrival being thrown at us by Pp can only convince PP Itself. And it is not masaged statistics that would change facts on the grounds. And the facts are no single five stars hotels ever reached full occupancy, many guesthouses are operating at their lowest while St Ange and Michel preached about an explosion in arrival.

There was a few fake arrival concocted for us by PP and Chinese Ambassador by flying to our shores a group of long servered communists members for a free holiday offered probably free of charge by PP regime to do two things-1)As thanks to China for keeping us alfoat and secondly to create the fake toursists arrival presented to us by PP thugs.Hundreds of flight by Airseychelles to Dubai do not means increase in arrival ,for most of the time these flights by AIRSEY is being done with half full occupancy of seat, nor does Arabs ever been the best and most important travellers in toursim history. Many toursists will not waste their time to fly via DuBAI just becuase the Suadi's goverenmnt think travellers must be forced to its DUTY_FREE.There are also good and intereting destinations though do not provide or have the natural beauty of our country .but enough beautifull and price worth to opt than Seychelles.

Pp governemnt is also as always putting the blame of European crisis, which is partly true ,but not an convincing excuse to explain the decline in arrival. For one must keep in mind that the biggset tourism industry or the most traveeld europeans are the Geramn who represent three third of Euroean travellers ,and Pp must know that Geramny is doing very good economically and geramn are still travelling but to destination that offer them a good price and possibilites to access their.

In a word, our tourisms indsutry is in a mess as all the other parts of our economy,it is not IMF nor PP who would tell us the contary.

Therefore, to fix the mess we would need rapid change of government, else we won^t be able to limit the free fall our economy is heading to under PP.

Michel is very bad at sacking under-performing ministers.

He procrastinated for about one year over sacking ministers. In the end he found the courage to let go of just two -- Shamlaye and Athanasius.

With Adam growing older so fast at 35, Michel could not rely on him to give the image of a youthful cabinet. He then had to appoint Idith Alexander, aged 34, who even at that age must be too old for the cradle-snatching Michel.

    ReplyDelete
  98. The CEO must not find scapegoats to justify Airsey astronomic pirce.IT is true that taxis are also expensive like anything in Seychelles even a SEYBREW has an astronomic price but the different is that taxis are many and in competition with each others while AIRSEY monopolize the Air service.Having said that if Taxis are also expensive is becuase fuels are high, there are too many taxis and they are not bailed out by tax payers money, they pay taxes, for the service of their cars etc...In other words taxis drivers have a financial durben on thei revenues that AirSEY does not have or it may have, but all are covered or paid for by goverenment.Morevoer,AIRSEY CEO should have pointed out that the astronomic salar,.pensio and other perks he is pocketing probably in POUND STERLING participate in the high cost of AIRSEY and it has negative consequences on a small Airline like ours. And the short trips they making to DUBAI would not bring foreign exchange the country needs unless Pp manipulate facts to give us a fake success or profits which would probably be so as for the jungle economic growth and fake tourism arrival they want us to accept.

  108. Are Alain St Ange's press releases on eTurbo News written specifically for THICKO JAMES MICHEL ?

St Ange says February has been the best month for tourist arrivals ever ? Not surprising he congratulates himself for that and says the carnival has attracted visitors.

No doubt the carnival has attracted a handful more tourists who would perhaps have come at some other time.

The February figures include participants in the carnival and many were here at the invitation of STB and not our average tourists.

Furthermore, the biggest omission in St Ange press release is the COSTA ALLEGRA incident and those on board who accepted the company's compensation of one or two weeks holiday in Seychelles.

It is clear that the press releases are mere propaganda. This is why while STB will tell us that tourists were arriving in Seychelles in record-breaking numbers, the fact will remain that the tourist industry is on its knees.

The Minister for Tourism should tell us what is the tourist arrival number for February by excluding Costa Allegra tourists and participants in the Carnival. It is that number that will tell us whether the number of tourists is going up and whether the carnival did indeed attract additional tourists.

Stop DECEIVING us ! But feel free to continue deceiving JAMES MICHEL. He is the stupid and gullible one.

  109. Mauritian leader of the opposition (not one put there by the government), Paul Berrenger, met James Michel while the latter was Chief Guest at the 44th independence anniversary celebrations.

They discussed the IMF economic reform programme, the 3 women in a cabinet of 13 and Michel's state of the nation address.

They then moved to Maldives and Madagascar to discuss the political situation -- i.e. elected governments being overthrown by former dictators.

Why did they not discuss the political situation in Seychelles ? Was that a touchy subject best avoided to avoid taking Michel to task ? It is telling that Berrenger felt able to discuss politics in Maldives and Madagascar and not Seychelles with James Michel. He obviously does not think highly of the political developments in Seychelles under James Michel.

Berrenger must have been well aware that the opposition boycotted the national assembly elections and the "leader of the opposition in the national assembly" was put there by Michel's handpicked and cowed judges.

Berrenger must have thought one of the world's biggest hypocrites was talking to him about Maldives and Madagascar while Michel has refused to democratise Seychelles since the one-party state dictatorship was supposed to have ended.

Was Michel intelligent enough to wonder why Berrenger avoided discussing the political situation in Seychelles, while happily indulging in that of Madagascar and Maldives ? I doubt it.

Given that he had to indulge a hypocrite in the interests of diplomacy, Berrenger must have wished Michel had not bothered to meet the leader of the opposition in Mauritius. He must have wished that Ramgoolam had done what Michel does and had discouraged visiting heads of state from meeting the real opposition.

If you or anyone else wants to talk about the immorality of same gender relationship then you ISAAQ is a fucking hypocrite because your uncles were not just gays they were whores as well!
Issaq tell us the one where one of your uncles who was a cook at a certain hotel in Beau Vallon in the seventies worked. When one pay day he challenged another cook to shag him and when the other cook was shagging him he slipped his hand in his back pocked and stole his pay packet. He never got his money back. That was the story going around in Victoria then from that arrogant thief and colleague of his who worked in the same kitchen! So Isaaq shut the fuck up about morality!
And you Gill should do the same! You were caught in bed with another man by your fiancé, you guys are criminals in Guam so shut the fuck up and let a clean and clear conscience person talk about morality! 120. With all ministers put on light duties with a cabinet of record-breaking and unlucky 13, they will be treading on each other's toes as they try to find ways to kill ministerial time and compete for exposure on SBC.

    It is happening already.

Which minister commented for the government on the announcement of a new flight by Kenya Airways ? It wasn't the minister for air transport, Joel Morgan. It was the SBC-microphone-hugging Alain St Ange. Presumably that's because most of our tourists come in by air, unless they are on a Costa Cruises ship broken down in the Indian Ocean. So, the Kenya Airways announcement became a tourism issue not an air transportation issue for this lopsided government.

We can expect St Ange to start commenting on foreign affairs, as all tourists come from foreign countries. By which time we can also expect fisticuffs among under-employed cabinet ministers as they move in on each other's turf to keep busy.

    One more thing !

With a picture of a doolally-looking Mancham, Nation tells us that Mancham will be returning to Seychelles via Abu Dhabi on his next trip overseas.

Talk about stating the blooming obvious. Don't we all have to make the obligatory stop in Abu Dhabi so we can avail ourselves of the opportunity to bow to Sheikh Khalifa and thank him for his largesse and for rescuing the Parti Lepep's government from its self-inflicted and never-ending misfortunes.

Pp communists cannot manage money, for it is not theirs. Thus it is high time that we asked Interantional donors to bring Pp to account on how all those millions are being used. And,one can already assumed due to PP illetracy in ecnomy that the millions are being rob and misused by those crooks.Just an example.40 millions EUROS would be given to PP to pormoteenvironemtal prtoection,to date we see nothing that we can say PP is spending the money rightfully.last week Michel went on Perseverance Island to plant ten trees and no one would beleive that ten trees costed millions, while for instance,Pp could through the Forestry division organized a gang of workers(new employment)to prepare and plant or reintroduce trees on all those burned mountains on Praslin that would money used rightly and would no only bring back themountais to their original forms but provide hundreds of jobs for decades for Praslinois.

When you have a regime who spend like a drunken sailor without audits and accountability and that for four decades ,they have become so accustum that they have got use of it and think it is normal.Uncontrolled spending on fictious projects like Eden Island with no clear economic strategy and selling the people patrimony to sponsor tits grandious projects whixch was meant to show us how great our dear leader is.How,the botteom has fallen out and we must beg the owrld for help and must live on charity which PP find normal and even call it a success.

Nothing throw to us by Pp seem to be the solution to fix the mess, the one thing that we can say Pp regime has achieved is namely that " PP communists have equally make us poor"

Deja vu, Gill. Or, rather, deja heard.

The last time the government bought this line from the trade, SHTA sent them Alain St Ange from the private sector.

Alain St Ange has gone native and deserted the trade and the private sector. Both SHTA and PL are screwing us "royally". Who in the trade now wants to be a minister ? Raymond St Ange ?

    ReplyDelete
  130. You could deja heard, but since you have herad and have no solution may be you should act now.YES,without those professionals and hotle owners, guesthous owners and all the rest directly or indirectly invloved in the tourism industry there will be no geniune and effective solution to fix this important industry which is in fact the main industry.Fourty years of PP governemnt has destroyed this once promising industry to dust.Pp communists do not have any plan of how to proceed and their stubbornness not to consult others who know the indsutry and have experience and proposal to made would further endanger this important industry thus product more ecnomic durben to the country and many other busineses directly depend on the tourism industry.

There is nothing abnormal in what Chris says,in fact in a modern siociety any government would have consult ,listen, follow porposition, ideas, plans porposed by experts and those in the industry rather than oppose a fantasy strategy based on illusion instead of well-studied plan and strategy.

Who the trade wants to be a minister?WEll,to have the best answer AGAIN here, pp could consult the experts in the industry:I think they know each other best to provide names or porpose who can best be the minister to save our mian industry from the PP free fall.

There are many Seychellois qualified, able, experience in this indsutry-one of them is MR DÔffay himself he HAS BEEN in the business for deCADES,another could be DERECK SAVY an ex-hotel manager also qualified from US university in marketing, and i can continue on and on with names. But again the problem is not the lack of professionals but the refusal by PP crooks to bring in professionals outside the Pp party and those who are not party members.Like for our Health ministry, there are people qualified for th post but since they are no active members of the communist party theyare not given the opportunity. For minister of economy we could have had the Seychellois expert with expereince working now as advicer at the world Bank so axeample. You see,it is not experts that are missing but failed policies undertake by PP communists.
Pp^s motto is "if you not a party member regardless of how highly qualified one is you will never be called for high office ,preferable unqualified like MITCY as long as you from the party.

I am sorry St. Ange has gone "A-Wall" and joined the rank and file of the PL. It is a let down to many people but he is happy of course, judging from the plethora of e turbo press releases.

All this does not mean St. Ange is useless to Tourism. It means he is simply highly opportunistic by nature.

Packaged well, that can be a plus for Seychelles.

As for being useful, we should all note that no one in PL Communist government understands anything about Tourism except for taking the golden eggs it produced once upon a time. That time is gone my friend.

    So wake up to reality.

Can St. Ange turn things around? I personally doubt it from what I know.

But the Trade today has no other option as long as PL control Tourism.

It is either sink over night, or sink slowly over 2 years. This is the option PL has offered Seychelles Tourism Industry.

Hence my call that PL privatise the management of Tourism fully today, and take it out of the realm of politics once and for all in order that we can salvage this industry that has gone from 85% of GDP once upon a time to 26% of GDP today.

As St. Ange plays politics with Tourism, it will suffer. Why? Because to every action, there will be an equal opposite reaction.

As Tourism is consigned to gimmicks, such as e turbo promoting James Michel, and Carnival that spends marketing budget on 200 airline tickets for a year with clear ulterior motives to promote Michel and St. Ange at the event, and no implementation of a Master Plan and no annual national business plan, it will fail as so chartered.

Why? Because PL Communists do not know how to run business, and they only know how to rape business, use opportunities it brings for political gain.

Once Michel accepts this simple point, we can move on.

In the meantime, I fear, you as well, Deja Vu, must be prepared for a Tourism Industry IMPLOSION unless the course set by Michel and St. Ange is altered.

I am opening up a pig farm and a pumpkin patch soon, just in case PL Communist do not listen again, as usual!

  155. Anybody, Officials from the International community following events and development at political level will not fail to note at Star Blog and Seychelles Freedom Party Blog the debacle of the "sex issues".

We have linked both Blog to international request we have made for International consultant/expertise to support/drive the 21,000 - 25,000 exile/refugee issues including - the most important Catholic International organisation - their respective work in this field the past 60 years or more.

Five years ago such issues, article would not have been published - why now.

There is the need/requirement for those from the International community to grasp and understand the depth of the anger and fustration - given events sarrounding Sechelles Seychelles regional and international politic, those who study and understand indepth its working by international standard and working very grave - yet not assasination, munity etc - the need to understand how Seychelles politic work. Yet the responsible high parties - meaning Seychelles government and its Ministers and the SPPF/PL will not budge.

I/we had just done our first bit of experience acquisition by several leading international institutions in vienna - when we arrived in London and faced this phenomena from our communities then 1979 - they would not pack a gun and take the life of an individual - they would use/reverd to the foulest and most dreadful vocbular in Creole to discuss and joke about politic, social issues and life. This translated in English or French or Italian is terrible.

To support this will give an example - we have had the International conference on Somali Pirate and all the international participants. Yet main stream political opposition and exile were not involved - we were the original cause for the muck to blow up in the first place. "talk of archaic, illuminati, fraternal, templar, freemason etc". In many countries arund the world and the many international agencies, officials working with exile/refugee are very familiar - they revert to utter violance, they kill.

This is not a Seychellois psycology, not Mauritian or Reunionais.

For all the talk of a Somali Pirate Centre with the support of the EU and International community - the Somali community in Britain do not give two pins to what the Seychelles government and its partners think and do.

On behalf of our exile/refugee working in London/Britian currently putting in place certain working structures which will enable us to work with the issues of the Somali Pirate in Seychelles and the region. We are not getting any support form the British Authorities, the EU and others - yet when we contribute and drive issues in positive direction - those who take credit and claim it is their achivement.

"Just to give a small example yesterday - the Police knew where we were, looking for a different location to work among the worse working environment in London - because of cost and money - we have written and address such issues and then suddenly there is a coup d'etat in Mali." We also visited a part of London where the Muslim community have several shops, office and other resource - we have near nothing by way of building -safe using shared resource and those people/community do not make input at International, African Union, Regional Indian Ocean or EU level.

    to continue below...

If/should President JA Michel choose to ignore/his government and those Ministers that is their rights, President FA Rene know other wise, President Mancham, Dr Maxime Ferrari and Mr Robert Frichot. Hence the many statement if our exile/refugee major working was based elsewhere the marked political development in Seychelles, Mauritius, the Somali and the Region.

Having tried to explain - the psycology of our political working, what will those who want/call to see justice in Seychelles do/publish next time.

We want to state again very plainly in our exile/refugee archaic, fraternal, illuminati, templar and masonic working there are very important mechanism which most of those involved in our politic refuse to acknowledge - they impact and influence the world workings too.

There is the need for those who have such understanding and knowledge to think very hard - they have responsibilities and as such when it is recognise and the accountability and answerability.

Give that the Government has announce their have a new Water system in place for La Miser residence - what trigerred that so call "di leau kaka " our ancestral archaic, fraternal, christian, illuminati, templar and masonic working". Those many institutions to fight/study and undertake emergency work in Seychelles and the Region.

  164. Danny Faure faces the PL traitors

Danny Faure took my advice about his sour face on SBC and Nation. Today he manages a smile -- but quite a forced smile clearly.

Seychelles Nation is slow to pick up the fact the on-off and off-on Vice President is out of favour with State House and that his photos (mostly him giving out prizes and certificates, before he gets his depar volonter) should be off the front page and relegated to inside pages. The country does not need to be reminded that this is the man who will never be President and that Parti Lepep in-fighting is damaging the country.

The belles who are the power behind the button at State House hate Danny Faure's guts more than we in the real opposition do. His cards are marked. His days are numbered. Roll out the clichés. Danny Faure is a goner and his resignation threats are empty. He is firing blanks.

    Traitor St Ange's self-promotion

That Danny Faure should be betrayed by his own side does not come as a surprise. Parti Lepep has engineered betrayals in the opposition ranks. One such traitor is Alain St Ange, the prolific writer of eTurbo News press releases on Alain St Ange.

The latest eTurbo News Global Travel and Industry News has a press release on St Ange as "New Seychelles Minister appeals for promotion of cultural heritage". Clear proof that St Ange has been abusing his position as eTurbo News ambassador to promote himself. Many will rightly wonder what has St Ange's speech to La Francophonie got to do with tourism news from Seychelles.

Is our new Minister then spending his time writing press releases and posting them on web-sites that few people read ? This is clear proof that there are too many ministers in this new cabinet and they are under-employed.

Fancy a press release on La Francophonie being written in English and not French. Are we now asking tourists to come and see Alain St Ange and not Seychelles ? No wonder they are staying away.

  165. St Ange seems not to really know what his job is as minister. He must choose betwwen the two minister or journalist.OUr tourism industry is in a mess and we need a minister who concentrate all his force in this ministry in order to fix the mess.It must be a full job and if St Ange think that he cannot concentrate on this job alone ,he must quite the porfolio of tourism ministry .We awating for Minister St Ange to instead provide the industry with concrete solution of how he is going to turn our tourism industry in free fall to a porfitable industry for now he haven't heard a word of which strategy or plan St,Ange has to fix the mess nor has he consulted any Individuals in the indsutry to see what they have to propose.St Ange seems happy to be minister but has forgotten that the indsutry need rapid strategy and plan and that businees people in the indsutry loosing money becuase of PP failed strategy need guidance of how to proceed and that a fast as possible.
St Ange should be given a dead line to present a genuine and effective genral plan of what he is planing to handed the decaying industry now.Else he should present his demission.

How,that Dr Mitcy has discovered Pp's mess, the natural question is what is she going to do to clean up this communist mess, some Cuban educated doctors tried to save our health system but fialed now we awaiting to see what Dr Mitcy together with Prof. Dr.Michel is going to do.What is your master plan Mitcy?

That Mitcy indentified flaws in our health system created by bad strategy and mis-mangement by Pp and which exits for decades is not a sign of a good health minister,it is a sign of how bad things must be before PP crooks indentify the mess. The same for Air Seychelles,it took PP decades before it could understand that bailing any company for decades without making profit is a failed strategy and should have long been dealt with instead of wating almost decades to act.Pp faileure to act ,deliver, consult and son has resulted in the bankrutpcy of our Airline.Dito,to Tourism industry ,it becuase of bad strategy,Our economy in general also fro the same results.

As the blogger put it.Pp crooks afraid of the same criminal they created and can not longer control their own frabricated criminals must themselves now live behind electrified walls guarded by heavy arms cronies(paid with tax payers money),what does that tell must?Simply that PP can not control the mess it created and cannot even find solution to deal with the increase of crimes in a country of 88 thousand people.Just imagine we had a population of over 200 hundred thousand or so what for a situation we would be in.

Pp has promised to modernized our police forces ,instead of sending our people aborad to study, train, and acquire experience. What do i mean by that?Instead of importing Scully,or other retired Irish personel to control our police forces and eran all big salary ,pension, bonuses, and all expences paid by our people in order to do nothing than having thier holidays,we should (the governemnt)together with European friends, the possibility of sending our police personel in their police school, have practical training by particiapting with them in their operations, see how things are really done,etc..only this way our own police forces can improve,be professional. One must understand that bringing Scully here to speak about his experience to people who never experience and have the kind of police training a european for example have, you could bring whoever foregners you want nothing will change.Use the dollars, pound sterling not to import foreigners to control our ofrces but the contary use it to send our poeple aborad to gain the qualification, experience in order that they can pass it to future police forces. On the long term ,it is much beneficial for us than importing retired foreigners who does nothing than having their full board holiday here all paid by our tax payers money.

That Pp crooks locked themslves behind electrified walls guard by heavy armed cronies shows the gravity of the situation and the mess PP has created that it cannot even control its own fabricated PP criminals.Crimnals are taking over and >General Morgan,Fieldmarshal Michel and all his admirals just do not have the solution to solve their own mess.

We expected the governemnt as part of its duty and obligation to protect our people, unfortunately this govenrment has failed to delivered ,it has become the cuase of the problem.

  192. Grandstanding by the one-party national assembly

The lily-livered MNAs find it easier to blame the judiciary for the crime wave sweeping the country. They should of course be blaming their own incompetent government.

These MNAs are also behaving like nincompoops. They passed a motion asking the judiciary to stop passing concurrent sentences. They are fools -- the judges are following the law on concurrent sentencing.

If MNAs do not like it, they should get their government to bring in legislation to get rid of concurrent sentences.

Truly, there is one born every minute. And that includes David Pierre.

    ReplyDelete
  193. Pierre of course cannot bring a motion, as he has no one to second it. Unless Parti Lepep comes to his rescue again.

  194. The ongoing humiliation of Danny Faure

If Danny Faure was a dog, we would be entitled to put him down to end his suffering at the hands of James Michel. James Michel is looking like a bully and Danny Faure is looking like someone who is prepared to suffer any suffering and submit to any torture in order to become president one day. But the writing is on the wall. Faure will never become president and all the suffering and humiliation will be in vain in the end.

We have seen some tortuous performances from Faure lately, whereas he was highly confident in the past.

It was painful to watch his interview from Calais where he was sent to observe the loading of the cable for the internet. We saw a man who was finding it painful to find the right words on SBC.

Then came the resignation that never happened and that rocked the Parti Lepep government.

The public show of solidarity between President and Vice President last Monday backfired when they went to visit the offices of the National Youth Council. Faure was always walking a few steps behind Michel. They did not speak to each other. In fact they did not even acknowledge each other's presence. So the PR exercise did more damage than good. Again Faure's interview on SBC exposed the man's unhappiness in his current role or non-role, and the fact that he will never be president.

It is clear. Michel cannot stand Faure any more. But he cannot get rid of him, without calling fresh presidential elections. Michel has welcomed traitors into his government. Yet he cannot stand the Cuba-trained Parti Lepep born and bred politician. That must be really painful for Faure.

The question is this. How long will Faure submit to this public humiliation which is designed to force him to resign and send him into the political wilderness ?

A university in Hungary has stripped President Pal Schmitt of his doctorate after it found that large parts of his thesis were plagiarised.

Budapest's Semmelweis University conducted an inquiry into the award after reports surfaced in a newspaper in January.

The university's rector condemned a "violation of scientific norms".

This won't happen to Dr James Michel -- because he never wrote a thesis for his doctorate in the first place.
