The Seychelles Column - By Christopher Gill

Seychelles Has To Kill Fear!

Part One

The Road Says It All

Last year, when the residents of La Misere went to the streets of Kennedy Road, to protest and exercise their right to Peaceful Assembly and their Right to Peaceful Expression and Protest, which is protected under the UN Charter of Fundamental Rights and the Seychelles Constitution Charter of Fundamental Rights, agents of the State, allegedly set fire to the garage and car of Lydia Jumeau, a key activist protest leader at La Misere against the tort committed by Sheikh Khalifa Bin al Zayed al Nayan,UAE and his contracting agents and Government of Seychelles.

Protesters at La Misere's Kennedy Road

Lydia Jumeau’s car was burnt to ashes and soon after, the Minister of Home Affairs and Security, a newly formed Ministry went to the SBC to say enough with protests in the streets. They did not mention the neighboring arson that took place.
Lydia Jumeau's car burnt by arsonists
Minister Morgan’s interview was followed by the Commissioner of Police on SBC, saying that force will be used, if the protestors took to the streets again. Protestors already faced down tear gas and AK-47’s once. The Commissioner looked as if he was losing patience as told to look, by the Minister.

Joel Morgan ponders over new falsehoods to cover up his shit...

Force was not used, because the protestors did not take to the streets again. They had been put back in their box by fear tactics on part of the Government of Seychelles, PL.

It is Illegal To Protest

These tactics are the same used in Saudi Arabia two weeks ago by the ruling family. First came a press release, stating that protests are outlawed in Saudi Arabia.

Then came a warning of use of force if protest takes place. Then the protest took place and no force was used. Fear had been killed by the people themselves. There will be more to come. Everyday protests around the Middle East increase, in a region of the World, where until recently, protesting was illegal.

Movement To Kill Fear!

The movement to kill FEAR is being done all over the region. In Bahrain, fear is dead. As it died, the Al Khalifa royal family has been asked to step down. They are looking for a way out. The GCC group sent troops into Bahrain similar as UAE will do with its troops this year, as they take over a Coast Guard base.

The Al Khalifa family protects the BMI offshore bank that has been doing funny deals in Victoria, Seychelles. Once fear is dead, there is only one way out, through the door for good Dictators do not and cannot look back.

In Egypt, the people there were referred to as the “cowards of the Middle East” for generations. This coward title came from the Egyptians allowing Mubarak to amass over $70 Billion in wealth and suppress free speech and democracy and individual rights through the control of the masses under State Security ministry. Today, Egyptians are the  heroes of the free world as a Google executive of Egyptain nationality took time out to coordinate the successful protests using Facebook, Blogs, Twitter. His efforts coordinated the strategy to bring down a regime that had a whole population on its knees for generations.

Seychelles has many parallels in the DNA of its dictatorship as these tyrants in the Middle East that are coming down daily. Last year Minister Jean Paul Adam, hosted a cocktail to honour Col. Muammar Gaddafi and referred to him with terms of endearment and affection as Michel’s “Brother Gaddafi”.

Pictures speak louder than words.. bye bye Brother Gaddafi

The situation in Tunisia with Ben Ali, a dictator like James Michel, has many similar experiences to Seychelles. There, they held housing, jobs, individual empowerment over the heads of the population to the point that one man could not earn a living selling fruits on the road side.

 Protesters in Egypt
This happened at Roche Caiman with our fishermen and along the streets of Seychelles everyday. In Tunisia this man, a fruit vendor set himself on fire before authorities and he set a revolution for democracy in the Middle East alight, forever. Ben Ali is gone, his villas have been broken to pieces and turned into souvenirs, bit by bit. SBC will have to find another country to source cameras from.

Let’s Talk About October 3rd 2006

On October 3rd, 2006, Wavel Ramkalawan , the Leader of Opposition and Jean Francois Ferrari, MNA were beaten with truncheons at the precincts of the National Assembly. Since that incident, the SNP have gone into a shell when the word protest is raised. I wrote my heart out defending Ramkalawan and Ferrari during this event. However, they seem to have ignored that effort and the effort of all those who defended them.

Jean-Francois Ferrari covered in blood after attack by Police.
Jean-Francois Ferrari & Ramkalawan beaten to a pulp.
These two people went to court and sought out meager financial judgments that actually reduce the value of human life in Seychelles, when compared to other modern democratic societies.

These victims of October 3rd, need to know that when a people must face a dictatorship, such actions are normal and we must be prepared to counteract such responses. When an oppressor beats you, hurts you, it is not the proper course of action to remain silent and change your ways so you do not exercise your rights in order that you may not be beaten again. When you do that, the oppressor wins, you lose, your cause is defeated.

Today, SNP is taking on a new strategy of silence in the opposition. They no longer walk out of the Assembly, they say they do not believe in protest, nor do they believe in a united opposition front to remove the dictatorship, which they now refer to as Whip party, of a Democracy.

Michel Says Protest Is Bad

We all know the oppressor will tell you, protest is bad, not good and harmful to society, but you need to know that Ben Ali said the same thing to his people to keep them silent. Hosni Mubarak said the same thing to allow him to amass $70 Billion in personal wealth. Col. Gaddafi, denounced peaceful protest, like Rene did in the 1980’s: use of force, mercenaries, foreign troops, jail, exile, murder.

The  Libyan crisis has shown us that today, the International Criminal Court (ICC) will charge a leader and his agents for crimes and use of force upon their own people. The international community can no longer remain silent when citizens have mobile and digital cameras in hand. The crimes similar to Rwanda genocide, wherein a government is permitted to kill their own people is over.

Egypt showed us that the Army must not take and follow orders to use force against their own people. This thinking is found in the MSR manifesto. The Seychelles Defense Forces, as well, must never follow an order to use force against Seychellois. If they do, they may end up before the International Crimes Court (ICC) facing charges. The precedence is being set right now in Libya as I pen this article.

SNP Stop Opposing After October 3rd, 2006

Victimization did not stop on October 3rd,2006. It has continued. How many victims do we have after October 3rd, 2006? We do not recall them if they are not in our party, SNP?

The job of the Opposition did not end on October 3rd, 2006. But in fact, we have an Opposition under SNP that practically went to sleep after October 3rd, 2006. It is for this reason that we must remember October 3rd, 2006.

After October 3rd,2006, an opposition Alliance was broken, Frank Elizabeth was thrown out of the Assembly line up, meetings at State House ensued with Ramkalawan, Ferrari Michel. The list is endless, the promises broken are as endless, yet they are not even in power.

The World Has Evolved

The World has evolved. The internet today, makes an act by any state authority viewable for the whole World. Facebook debates issues today that would have had you in jail and tied to wire in a dark room until your toes and fingers were severed in the One Party State. But the reality is, the Dictator cannot roll back the evolution of the power of the individual in our society today.

Damandra Eulantin, pictured with his baby brother and father, was murdered by people suspected working for State House Security force.
Damndra Eulentin (left) - murdered by State House Killers

The Dictator can only buy time with FEAR tactics and cajole the lead opposition into submission to give him the credibility he needs to survive.

Albert Rene and James Michel - The real Seychelles terrorists
The Dictator can only fall back on FEAR and TERROR as a tactic for the rest of us who do not give it credibility.

If the people challenge dictators intelligently in unity of purpose, they will crumble like paper airplanes heading into a dustbin of history. They will go, because that is the DNA of dictatorships. They are meant to go.

Attack of Arson

According to the Seychelles Fire Brigade, the amount of fires that are arson related is highly alarming in Seychelles today. Last year, it cost SR 7 Million to put out fires.

In 2010 this figure jumped to SR 22 Million. In 2011 with current trends, wherein more fires have been set in three months of 2011 than all of 2010, is to be exponential. Our country is being destroyed one fire at a time.

While this is done, FEAR and TERROR is being replanted, one family at a time, one spectator at a time.

Last week, fire engulfed a vehicle transport shed at my residence and hotel. The culprit wanted to spread fear and terror in the hearts of the victims.

Fire at Gill's property - A victim of arson
My three (3) year old girl cried, as she saw the orange flames consume the shed in the darkness of the night burning her mobile motor scooter.

My ten (10) year old son cried as his bicycle turned to ashes and bent metal. The culprit spread fear and terror in the hearts of two (2) little Seychellois children. But these children are being raised to be strong, to face FEAR eye to eye, to look down TERROR  as it comes and to have the will to crush it, like a paper plane.

To the culprit, I will not write less as you intended I do from your tactics of Fear and Terror.

I will not cower to hide from you. I will use my pen to expose you and all you stand for.

I will use my pen, to rid Seychelles, of all who are like you. We know you are there, and we know you are a seed of a Dictator, who cause countless suffering in the lives of thousands of Seychellois in the past and thinks he can do this today in Seychelles, successfully. He has already failed.

We Seychellois, must wear the badge that we were born to wear as Seychellois and become one People:

SESEL POU SESELWA!

May God Bless All Freedom Loving Seychellois!

  3. Michel and Rene give orders, and the executioners execute the orders. Who is guilty, the actual killers or the one who gave the orders?

In the end, Michel and Rene are the murderers, and it may be time for them to get a taste of their own medicine.

  4. It was expected that an unqualiifed foreign judge being paid by tax payers money will deliver a his judgemnet in favour of the cmoomunist party who employed him if he failed to do so he risk being sacked thus loosing all the fortune he making to fake justice. This prove to us again why is it a must to get Pp crooks out on power and free our institutions from foreign control.

Pp will continue to use racism as a desperate tactic in its attempt to divert attension of their crime, the same way that Pp still think that it as the birth crtificate on us to decide of whter weshould prtest ,make a revolution or not, that is typical communists. The interesting thing though is what came from RAM mouth shortly though slow as a turtle to understand things he agreed with what MSR has been saying for so long namely that Pp is using racism as a tactic to fake from its failed political realities and crimes.

We will oppose the present of Arabs military force based on our sovereign christian land,we an independent state we do not want foreign intervention in our political affaires nor to come an massacre our people like they are donig in Bahrain.

seychelles is for Seychellios Michel that is why we are called Seychellois just as Indai is for indian and that why they are called Indain.

Kurunakan plays the game of Pp calling us rqacists too but Karukan should be better place to correct Pp that Patriotism is not synonym to racist he just has to open a dictionary to see.Kurunakan should aslo know that in fact racism is what is common practices in his home land where people are divided in to KAS which a form of racism.WE DO NOT HAVE CAS;NOR TRIBES here.

Govinden is as criminal as Michel his mentor He is Attorney general nad should be defending the interests of his country but instead he has alloed Khalifa to brain-washed hime with potrol dollars and is now abusing his position to impede justice in favour of illegal foreigners acrting above our laws.

In criminology and before the court of law both instigstor and exercuter of crimes are criminals unless your definition of crime comes from a communist book of law.
An example if Gadhafi will face justice for crimes committed on his people is not because he pressed on the triger himself but becuase he order the crimes.

Arson, disparitions, bugging ordinary citizens in their private lives are common tactics to communists we all remember Gerald case.Interestingly after thirty four years no one have ever been arrested and face justice becuase justice in communists exist only in words not in practice becuase our justice system has been converted into a mechanism of repression and intimidation.

All in all these are not democratic practices that our people wanted in 1976 whenthe decided to take the freedom,to fix thing up there onway forward topple those handfuls of crooks now as freedom loving people are doing in North Africa and Arabs countries,This country is owers we are the only one to decide who we want, how we want to rule or represent us.We cannot afford to allow a bunch of crooks to decide for us.

It is time for a revolution.

  5. Pp and his foreign collaborators must keep this in mind.

We Seychellois will continue to fight ofr our rights and freedom,to protect our sovereign christian country form the annexation of arabs despots, from the illegal present of arab military on our chritian soil, from the illegal construction by foreigners in our national reserves, coastal fronts and the illegal blockage of our public beaches by foreigners,we will continue oppose those who illegal obtained our citizenships,of those like Shiva who has been illegal gifted our land to build a little Indai in our sovereign state,to the dictation of Pp criminals,to the illegal control of our institutions by foreigners, and that as long as necessarz namelz until Pp is topple. We will do so for one simple reason because it is our duty and obligation as anz nation to protect their homeland from both criminals and foreign intervention or dominance.

History has shown that dictators can never staz on power forever the power of the people awaz prevail this ccountry will not be an exception.

  7. If he says that he will be lying to himself cause he knows how discrimation works ,ithasis in operation in his country for years now.People are massacred in Sir Lanka or India for the different of belief, beucase they from a different tribes, etc they even have classified people into classes in Indai is called CAS, Tamil in Sir Lnaka though they Sir Lankans ,muslims in Kashmir.

And After all what an Indain think of a Seychellois in his own mother land is not important,he shouldkeep his thinking for himself or use it to help bring about huaman improvement in his own country not here,we are soveiregn we exist for over 3oo hundred years as a nation.

However, if by a miracle , we do get a different government,,we still have to be watch dogs tO MAKE SURE THEY DO NOT REVERT TO THE SAME TACTICS!
Filling their pockets, appointing their friends etc.. and talking a lot but no action etc..

WE need to keep demanding TRUTH AND TRANSPARENCY.. OTHERWISE PEOPLE WILL PROTEST FOR SURE

  10. I wonder if they have the parking scam in seychelles. do you know what I am talking about? very intersting if they have that there. banana republics have many tricks. do you have that scam there?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yes, Seychelles is a true banana republic with a group of self appointed elites they think that they can do what they want with impunity, such as political murder, victimization of Seychellois who refused to adhere to their communism ideology, political interferences with judicial processes, building a spy ring in all district and calling it district administration contain all political affiliated persons. Using state properties has if it is their with no shame or remorse. Now that banana republic will be under the control of Arabs army from united Arab emirates and we are going to have a sham election where the ruling party has chosen what opposition they are going to contest the election with. May be with god grace one day the upcoming generation will live in a true democratic Seychelles.

  15. Sceptical
the same old tactics are the only thing they know as long as they continue to spread fear and intimidation Pp will hold to it ,it is their only way of survive.Seychellois in its majority have always refuse communism that is why Michel and his thugs force themselves to power they knew that by using democratic norms they would have never had access to power. As Chris has repeatedly pointed out we must rise above our fear as the Egyptian,Tunisain have done to bring back our country under civilian rule not gangsters. We courage must be stronger than ther fear Pp is spreading for Pp knows once this barrier of fear falls it means revolution for the people and prison for criminals. We must also keep in mind that our cry and actions of resistance are legitimate,we ,the people are the only legitimate authority ,the criminals are not the people here but a handful of communist murderers who placed themselves at the head of our instittuions by the barrel of Ak 47 .They are the criminals not the people.

Pp is an illegitimate political party ,it has no crdibility and should in fact be disolved and banned in this country's political scene.Pp must get this message cristal clear we have started the fight nothing will stop us until victory is proclaimed by the people of this country.Intimidation, repressions make us more determine in our fight for if we are being intimidated is becuase the our actions are having an impact on them ,it is the paranoiac feeling of being dispose.

One day by the law of karma you will face the same music. The fundamental differences between Gill and you lot is that this guy is prepared to say things the way they are. Whilst some of you because of your blind loyalty you are trying to portray this guy as a lunatic. Gill continue to do what you believe in because is it a just cause and the realities are staring many Seycheloises in their face. Some pretend not to see, so they look the other way, some are simply psychology blind because of fear whilst a small minority are trying to educate others. Naming calling people because of ideological differences just shows how ignorant, immature, self centered and intolerant some of you lot are. I am certain that some of the great champion of democracy in the SNP squatters are very satisfied with the judgement of this corrupt Indian. Just to remind some of the SNP supporters who thinks the they are better of thah Gill vis a vis SPPF policy. Just think again you are not different. The only thing is that SNP is registered in SPPF fake democracy and MSR is not. This like the kettle calling the pot black.

  29. Seriously, those people who wrote that last few comments really need to look at the bigger picture.

There should be no foreigner telling us how to interpret our constitution and the direction of our country and get priveleges that the ordinary Seychellois cannot get.

He or she should pay their taxes, treat our citizens right, not participate in corruptive practices, live and abide by our laws.

These are simple and the norm in most develop countries. If they follow them, then all is fine. If not, then they are not honest and shouldn't be part of our society.

How hard is that to understand?

    Be honest please.

    Our country is our country.

Stop your rants just because it's election time and you hope to get some extra cash, a piece of land at La Misere (which i heard someone just got), a fridge/stove or some paint/building materials, with our hard earned tax payers money. Or from money donated by other countries towards the election campaing to protect their illegal interests, which by the way taxes should have been paid on.

Just imagine how far we would be as a Nation and as a society if things were really fair, right, equal and just. Where our leaders weren't afraid of change, hungry for fortune and a surname didn't dictate our destiny.

Gill may not be perfect, but he and along with others are at least not shy anymore of expressing their opinion and their wishes.

We all should have a say in the proper management of this country.

We need smart, honest prfessionals with integrity and morals.

  34. TEN REASONS WHY MSR WILL FAIL

    1) You distort reality and are unable to provide a balanced assessment of your opponents. A real aspiring leader balances the good with the bad and is not completely biased.

    2) Two people make up your 'party.'What sort of party is that? One of them A PILOT who has not commented on why he is a LIAR and the other a FLOOR CROSSER who nobody likes. FACT.

    3) No one has really really heard of MSR. As far as I can see it exists only online and now it would appear only on facebook because I can see nothing has been updated since April Fools Day!

    4) CG was an embarrassment to every political party he was a part of and is very fortunate to have other family members that helped him even get involved in politics in the first place. For DP he won Bel Ombre...Any other Jack ass would have won this seat for DP too which was arguably the easiest seat and this catapulted him in to some rather erratic thinking!!

    5) Parti Le Pep do not like you or have not heard of you. Snp do not like you or have not heard of you. NDP do not like you either, do not be fooled.

6)You continually create fake accounts to champion your case on your website. When visiting your facebook page one can only visibly see one other supporter apart from the pilot. That being Alain who actually looks like a much more decent bloke than you.

    7) Your politcal opinion is driven by your animosity and past grievances with well established politicians that want nothing to do with you! Mancham, Ramkalawan and Michel have been fantastic leaders in there own right. What have you led???

    8) Only an idiot thinks that limited Arab involvement will be bad for the future of Seychelles. It's not about patrimony. The economy was fucked and this guy is loaded. Do you see how it kind of makes sense to try and attract wealthy people when your 700 million dollars in debt. You are not really Seselwa anyway.

    9) You are RACIST.

    10) You posted a genuine event on your website for MSR folllowers to go to. No you though, no supporters, no one and then you don't even comment as to why.

    11) Everyone thinks you are mad, this is a worrying concept. Apart from JP but he is stupid anyway.

    12) You never listen to any advice and just assume it's all a collaboration agaisnt you. I can assure you it's not. I am neither completely happy with LE Pep or SNP BUT WOULD HELL RATHER THEM IN POWER THEN YOU!!!

  35. Deins Esparon,
you typify how communist debates.MSR is supporters by thousands of Seychellois who want their country to be a democratic society not one with a governemnt who brought themselves on power by the barrel of Ak 47.MSR is very well known also tp Pp that is why Pp fins it necessary to impede its registration becuase it will be the hot potato for Pp in the politcal sphere of this country.Liar are Pp and its cronies to your likes that thry to divert attention of real of concern to our people namely our stolen billion, our patrimony dished illegally to khlifa, suliman, shiva ad other fabrik. If involvement for you mean annexation you are confuse, for annexation is what khlaifa is doing with the copnspirator and facialiator Michel is doing.

As to RACIST we will not debate on that for Pp and cronies just do not understand it as they do not understand what a constitution is,what rule of lawsis ,what human ridghts is,what freedom of expression and so.

Our economy was fucked by Pp mis amnagement and ignorance of how economy works,we are a soveiregn country we took indeoendence to be independent from other countires otherwise we could have staed a British colony and as a sovieregn state we should stand on our own feet that is one of the reasons among other why nations took independent and not to be buglers on the world.

We espect you support Pp or SNp becuase you benefit from their failed politcs and the misery of our people. As to advice the only person with deaf hear in Seychelles is Michel,he does not hear when Seychellois the only ligitimate power told him, to stop selling their patrimony to ofriegners,to stop selling their passports to stop stealing their wealth, etcdo not you beleive he is the one that should be listen instead of find rediculous excuses for his criminal acts.?

It is without doubt that you do not understand the concept of blogging. So it is clear to see why you are psychologically blind of what is going on in your own country. Prove that what Jeanne-D'arc wrote about lepep is incorrect then we would prompt you where to look for evidences. The world is distancing themselves with leaders like James Michel who is interested with just rubbing shoulders with corrupt Arabs like him. Bird of a feather flock together. What has Michel achieved during his tenure as a president? Apart from more corrupt practices, injustices to the people of La misere, impeding democratic ideals, controlling state apparatus such has the media, stealing the hotel called plantation club from the legitimate owner on false pretences to give to Arabs so that they can have their legalize brothel in the Seychelles, having local Seychellois people barred from getting access to their god given beautiful beaches, cordoning illegal activities on our outer islands by the Savy princes and all the proceeds goes into their foreign accounts , giving our islands to the Savy princes for a lease of one rupees to build hotels with his foreign partners and what do Seychelles get in return nothing. Just to remind you that most of the labours working in these hotels are foreign labours. I would like to let you know that in a true democracy James Michel would never win any election. That is a fact and gets use to it. Seychelles politics is exactly the style of leadership which is wrecking havoc in the Middle East. CORRUPTIONS AND MORE CORRUPTIONS. POWER HUNGRY JUST TO ROB THE MAJORITY OF THE POPULATION.THINKING OF SEYCHELLOIS PEOPLE JUST FOR ELECTION RIGGING BY FRAUDS IN ORDER TO LEGITIMIZE HIS PRESIDENCY

We must remain tolerant towards Jean Francois Ferrari, SG of SNP, and defend his right to Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Expression. In exchange, we ask Jean Francois to try his best, to bring something meaningful to the debate.

SNP is going into the presidential election but sends another to do their campaign, who will be standing for presidential candidate??

Ramkalawan like Michel is picking and choosing who to visit since the evidence has shown the reason for his candidacy.

The new way to win support is i quote "we are prepared to unify but they need to approach us", if anyone in their right mind were to approach a party soon to be extinct they are looney!!

A vote for snp now is not a vote for wining it is a vote to cover the debts that each mna has bestowed onto themselves. How many of them do you think did not take massive loans for extravagance??

Ramkalawan worst of all has loads to repay so vote he vote his salary increase and life pension set.

  48. Dear Readers
Some of my remarks i have made regarding the participation of SNP in the forthcoming elections have been justify by some of remarks that SNP made to the commonwealth delegations on the 23rd of march. Below are excerpts taken from SNP web site.
    - The failure of the SBC and the state-owned media to meet the requirement for impartiality and to give access to divergent views
    - The use of state resources by the ruling party
    - The failure to do away with restrictions on the right to assembly imposed by the Public Order Act
    - The use of the security forces for partisan politics
The SNP has also raised some issues relating to the management of the electoral process and the organisation of elections by the Electoral Commissioner.
Now my question to SNP leadership do you think that Lepep will genuinely address these important and truly justify issues important for a fledging democracy in two months when you could have pressured Lepep during your five years of self imposed coma. What will SNP do if these is no change or willingness by Lepep to address these issues to level the field for free and fair election. Remember during one of these elections in the past when Albert Rene was using social security money to buy votes in all district. When he was questioned by commonwealth observers he said that he was helping the needy and there were a raid on the social security by the people. Since then nothing has changed state resources are continually being used to influence voters and SNP has been done enough during the last five years to educate voters. First because they do not have access to state media and secondly due to their complacency as they have refused to invest in alternatives methods to do it. So i just wish SNP the best of luck going into an election that all the commonwealth recommendations have been dish in the dustbin by Lepep. You had the chance to put pressure on this government who has virtually bankrupt the Seychelles but you did not exploit this opportunity and i am afraid you are not going in that election in pole position but you may have some time to amend but time may be time limited unless the People of Seychelles whom i think are mature enough to do what is logical to boot out the 34 years of dictatorship and send a strong message to any other government that being in the government is not a luxury but a privilege offer by the people that can be revoked anytime.

RAm critques hides the deeper fact that SNP has to participate in the election becuase it is an integrate part of PP.It has been playing the regime's oppostion image for too long to change now.It has become a profitable business for RAM and Co. nad his insatiableappetite for self interest. Thus he has no option than to bow for Pp.Remeber that RAM has been only once honest to supporters that is when he public and from his own muoth told us that he was not fit for the office and since then he has change its words,so do not believe a word coming out from RAM until he practical shows the contary.

The SNP missed the train in 2007, when they had resolved in party convention in 2006 to boycott the elections of 2007. Mr Georges set out a whole list of reasons in the convention why they should boycott. I was there and voted for the boycott. Unfortunately in 2007, somehow decision was changed and SNP took part. Now in 2011, the same reasons of 2006 has been brandished again by the SNP with the Commonwealth observers.

Even if PL was to address some of the issues, it will be just like the new SBC Act, a cosmetic change only.

Well RAM seemsto want UNITY, but not to other oppostion party(ies) or political movement but to PP .RAM and JAM probably are dreaming of constituting a supraparty in order to extent the suffering of our people for years to come, thus the nessecity to get them out.Chris has been calling on RAm not once but uncountable time to do just that but he has always palys deaf hears to the call.Again this shows us that SNP is nothing than a sister party to PP,put in place to support Pp hold to power and couter balance real oppostion. Therefore RAM must be consider one of the same as PP and should be dealt with as such.

I agree fully with all your points, Jeanne D'arc and Vox as well.

I only add this addendum to the flow of ideas:

The SNP know the playing field is not levelled and will not be now or in the future. They know as we all do, that it has been 17 years since Seychelles moved from a One party state to multi party democracy status. In spite of that transition, we are pretty much in a One Party Dictatorship. But we have an opposition that has been a pretty good wondow dressing to cover the One Party State up to know.

Ramkalawan will ignore all the comments here, because is has no choice, but to give credibility to a not credible process. Himself, and the rest of the SNP top brass are all overloaded in debts loans living the good life and enriching themselves through the political clout of being opposition players.

PL has insured that they are all more comfortable then any one could ask. If you look carefully, you will find our MNA's and Lo live better then the top business men and women in Seychelles today.

It is for this, that they will not budge and they will simply hand over the plate of credibility to Michel, in spite of all the valid points "A Concerned Seychellois" has rightly highlighted.

We need to think out of this mess and learn from it.

The vile attacks on me and others that voice support come for a reason. They want to break our will and resolve, because they cannot beat the TRUTH.

  58. I could not agree more that Ramkalawan do not want to win election. First and foremost having lost all these past election a true leader would have given the opportunity to someone else in his party the leadership of his party.Does he realizes that calling other people dictator whilst his attitudes after losing so many elections is not health for an opposition that is taking election seriously. When will he ever step down. I personally think that if he loses that forthcoming election he should resign as the leader of SNP and if he continues to be the leader this will clearly shows that he is there only for the money and he has no interest in getting lepep out of power since he does not want to allow other people to take off the leadership. I am very sure that he knows that this election is his last chance to rule over his party with an iron fist and i am even anticipating a break in the rank of SNP should he loses the election. For the time being give him the benefit of the doubt and the outcome of the forthcoming election will make or break SNP as a credible opposition party.I am afraid this is a good example of obsessive leader who thinks that the party is him and he is the party and nobody is electable other than him. He should also realize that people voted for SNP not because they adore Ramkalawan as a leader but because they are craving for a more free and just Seychelles.

  61. I for one will not vote for the govt is in this election.

The alternative opposition makes me wonder if they deserve my vote as well.

What have they been doing besides some nice speaches and a newspaper?
You do not see them, they go by in their vehicles taken from loans, they don't even bother to show that they can manage their party well, so how can i expect them to manage this country? PL as well cannot manage this country.

MSR is a breath of fresh air as well, but to be honest it also needs to work on the finer details.

    So, who do i pick???

In all honesty, the political scene in SEychelles is a joke. We are intelligent individuals in our own right and deserve better. Does it always have to be the same choices??? the same people????

Surely, Seychelles deserves better and can do better than what we have today.

I'd much rather not vote during this election, because my vote represents the future and my hopes of my cildren. I would not be right to endorse any of these parties who prefer to look at their needs at the end of the day, rather then the people's.

There are so many bad things happening in this govt today that i really question... Just some examples:

    - David Savy heads a company that loses so much money and affects the lives of this country, yet he is made an advisor???? Come on...is he advising how to lose money??
    - How many people working in govt are allowed to gain from conflicts of interest, either they're doing consultancies for the govt, or their partner gets a construction contract, or their son or daughter get appointed in some post etc... This is wrong...
-Have you ever heard a foreign judge in another country, telling the people of that country how to interpret their constitution and what their dreams are???

There are so many things wrong with the govt and so many things going in the wrong direction for the Opposition...

We need new blood, a new approach, some professionalism and an opposition who isn't afraid. They will not boycott the elections because they have loans to pay and other commitments...

This situation really sucks and it's bothering me more and more each day.

Basically, we all know what will happen in the coming elections....tax payers money being illegally used, lies, promises and whole bunch of yelling and beers and burgers on a field, flags, drama, blah blah blah...and when the smoke settles...we will all be living the same shit for another 5 years...and what will happen to the opposition during the next five years? They will be quite for the first 4.5 years getting all cozy with the govt.

God help us out of thie viscious circle.

So who do you think deserves your vote?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Sorry my friend the paradox is you get the government you deserve. I think the present circumstances place us in a precarious situation. That is between a hard rock and a hard place. One word of advice please do not stay home but go and cast your vote. Mr Ramkalawan may not be your ldeal candidate but he has chosen a true patriotic vice president who deserves to be supported for his humility and honesty. Mr Nicholas Preira represent the future of the Seychelles. Please do not help the dictatorship for 34 years who has been oppossessing us , terroring us and making us third class citizen into our own country. We would have like to have better alternatives but we have to accept the reality of today be an agent of change together let us root out the SPPF cancer in our mist and tomorrow we will have a better Seychelles we deserve. Let us creat that momentum in the Seychelles that government can be changed specially corrupt and oppossessive regime that have sold us to foreigners and bankrupt our country and siphoned 2.5 billion dollars of Seychellois sweat and blood and place it in their bank account.

I am not prepare to endure five more years of SPPF. Please vote for a change before it is too late.
