IMF has requested that Air Seychelles domestic be audited
The airport operations will supposedly be handed over to the UAE company that operates Abu Dhabi airport (very convenient for Sheik Khalifa) while the domestic operation will be privatised and will most likely fall into the hands of the Savy brothers (Glenny, David & Francis). The 'three musketeers' are already heavily involved in flying the Seychelles skies with David the sitting Chairman of the Air Seychelles empire, Glenny the head of IDC Aviation (serving the outer islands) and little Zilman Francis the owner/MD of Zil Air -a helicopter service set up to serve his island developments empire of Zilwa and Zil Pasyon (islands gifted to him for one (1) Seychelles rupee!!!).
The straw that broke the camel's back comes after the business community red lighted the unfair pricing tactics of Air Seychelles domestic by hiking rates to Praslin mid season without notice and increasing charter rates to Bird & Denis Islands by a whopping 54%.
What will happen to Air Seychelles international is still under wraps but we should not be surprised if it is gifted to either one of Michel's foreign friends under his 'Sell Baby Sell' scheme of desperation or handed over to David Savy, one of the kingpins of the Rene Crony Society.
Probably right about handing out the air operations to the Savy bros! And what will the Seychellois do? Moan and groan in the bars, at home and on this blog. Short of that, little else....sad but to date that has been the tendency. The Seychellois people sadly seem to have no courage of their own convictions. I hope to be proven wrong.

You guys are a sad bunch. All I can say is that recently I flew Zil Air and the service/product was excellent and world class. I have had the opportunity of flying elsewhere and I must commend them on their achievement and standards. Can't comment on IDC aviating as I have yet to experience their offering. As for Air Seychelles I suggest you guys go fly domestic in Europe and come write all about it. You a bunch of losers. Why not put your money where your mouth is and go setup an airline or for that matter go do an island since you claim the fees to be as little as 1 SCR. You all talk, CHEAP TALK.
ReplyDeleteAir Seychelles is not the only parastatal that should be audited. It is time to take another look at STC, SPTC, PUC and all others. Curruption is rife everywhere. That is Michel's and Albert's strategy.

ReplyDeleteThe reference to SCR. 1.00 island sale is not the price of an airline ticket. It is the price the owner of Zil Air, and affiliates paid for the remainder of St. Anne Island.
Hence Zil Air may hav eexcellent service, but it is likely paid for by the blood of the people of Seychelles.

About time Air Seychelles goes under the microscope, as should SPTC, SPDF, PUC etc, not to mention every single political party too. The discussion about Air Seychelles' economy has been brought up many times and some, myself included, have previously said that it is time the airline(apart from domestic) is shut down and the service outsourced as it is a huge non-sustainable economical burden to the country.
ReplyDeleteOf course there had to be something in it for Khalifa and his fellow riders. I recall a while back, rumours said that Air Seychelles is partly owned by Emirates, but nobody has ever confirmed wether this is true or not. If true, then not strange at all that it will be administrated by its co-owners.
Naturally the Savy Trio will get their share of it as they are deep into the net of corruption and they will do so with the blessing of the IMF. This is politics and even the IMF have eyes that can shut when needed.

Moreover,it is freedom from interference,not only in relation to any "would-be higher",that is,international or supranational authority but also in relation to other states.
In a word,internal sovereignty is supremacy,thus freedom-to,and external sovereignty is independence,thus freedom-from.
There is a variety of factors,in this country which have drained the state of its sovereignty by depriving it of the ability to protect itself and its citizens from the negative effects of the actions of other nation or outsider groups.The most important of these factors are the accelerating pace of which national land are being illegally destributed by governemnt to outsiders and the increasingly wide-spread of human impacts on the country's environment.
Such illegal actions by governemnt help in deminishing national sovereignty and thus destroy its freedom to action.
The governemnt actions is the submission of sovereignty to foreign forces.It is also the assertion that ,somehow,the country's national boudaries should be obliterated and the nation should be "internationalized".
A notion which clearly cannot be accepted by any sovereign state, because it begs the question,why strive for statehood then?
