The Monstrosity of Soleil D'Or

Another eyesore that has been scarring the beautiful North East Point landscape at Soleil D'Or, Mahe, Seychelles, is this mostrosity that has been sticking out like a sore thumb for more than 10 years now! How did this white elephant get planning permission? It belongs to a wealthy Ukranian mafiosi who has acquired the land (our patrimony), most likely bribed a high government official and got a passport and 'carte blanche' to erect this edifice that is tarnishing our image as a prime eco and environmentally conscious destination.

There is no doubt that the minister responsible for Planning (whoever it was at the time of construction) must have had a nice cut to allow this idiot to build such an eyesore. Or was it sanctioned by the Cabinet of Ministers, Mr. Dugasse? Well if that's the case then the whole cabinet should be fired!

We call upon the authorities to force the owner to tear down this atrocity as pretty soon the "Seselwa" will start chipping at it like the Berlin Wall. This horror is more like a bunker with no aesthetics. How could planning permission be granted? Unless of course some well connected hands were greased and some bank accounts fattened.

Shame on you SPPF / Parti Lepep for allowing so called 'investors' to destroy our pristine environment with impunity. We can no longer tolerate such arrogance! We cannot allow our patrimony to be prostituted for a few pieces of silver. Government needs to take a tough stance. All property speculators who are snapping up prime real estate just to leave it to waste or resell for a massive fortune should be BOOTED out of this country. We welcome investors yes, but we cannot stomach leeches and vampires who want to profit from James Michel's 'Sell Baby Sell' policy designed to rob the Seselwa of what is rightfully theirs.

Can anyone tell us what this Ukrainian mystery man has contributed to Seychelles as an investor apart from erecting this monstrosity to blot our landscape and tarnish our reputation? Perhaps those who have benefitted from his largesse can step forward and own up. Shame on you James Michel and your team of dodos. Ill gotten gains (bribes or otherwise) should go towards paying for our crumbling infrastructure instead of gallivanting the world with your begging bowl in hand.
